First time we rehearsed this I had to pause and regroup, because you can't sing when you're all choked up from the beauty of it.

I love it and the way the sound intensifies in that space. Those mediaeval cathedral builders really understood the human voice, architecture and space. Not surprising when you consider there was nothing else.
This is heavenly, a great version, thank you!

Once again heard it on Classic FM. How do you write such beautiful music.
Where can I get the sheet music from? I play Trombone with my local orchestra, and feel this would transfer well for a brass arrangement. How do I formally ask for your permission to arrange it Mr Stopford?

Lully, lulla, thou little tiny child
Bye, bye, lully, lullay, thou little tiny child
    Bye, bye, lully, lullay
Oh, sisters too, how may we do
    For to preserve this day?
This pore yongling for whom we do sing
    "Bye, bye, lully, lullay"?
Lully, lulla, thou little tiny child
Bye, bye, lully, lullay, thou little tiny child
    Bye, bye, lully, lullay

    All young children to slay
Lully, lulla, thou little tiny child
Bye, bye, lully, lullay, thou little tiny child
    Bye, bye, lully, lullay

'tudoraxes' is troll, pay that handle no mind nor time. Stopford and Leighton revisit the Coventry Carol in completely different ways, for different choral mixes, but both honor the structure of the original and give it life afresh. As for the troll's dismissal of the boy-treble's intonation in the King's College rendering of the Leighton? Idiot's comment!! He bent four tones, and three were on purpose. Sorry, I shouldn't call the troll an idiot, but just profoundly unaware of the style CHEERS.

    Mr. Stopford,
Would you allow me to write a piano accompaniment for this piece (just for fun), I love how it sounds acapella, but I have an interesting idea for a piano accompaniment, I am an amateur composer and I mainly compose for the piano.

I sang this amazing song for the Rochester holiday pops gala. It brought tears to the eyes of many of the people in Eastman Theater... we dedicated it to the victims of the school shooting, and the tragic loss of life. Thank you Mr Stopford for this amazing work.
