This was such an eye opener man! I have been a FL user for so many years and slept on Fruity Soft Clipper and instead went for 3rd party Clippers. Now I really have to dig deep into their stock plugin catalogue.
The soft clipper is the same saturator that is used in the Fruity Limiter
I wasn't expecting anything special to be honest but it surprised me a lot and after using it for a while I understood why Ryan made this. It's a special one and it sounds different than any other clipper

Yeah am an fl user and it does have a lot of hidden gems that I'm either just rediscovering or discovering for the first time & the library of things is growing at break neck speed.

You really need to check out V clip. Pretty versatile with wave shaping.

V clip is the most slept on clipper without a doubt.
I need to get my hands on this! From my understanding the flstudio softclipper sound comes from using the clipper as it is, meaning a 100% Softclip with no knee or hard clip function at all, so as soon as you turn the orange knob on this orangeclip plugin it won't sound like that flstudio crunch sound anymore right? Since the shape of a clipper changes the sound a lot especially if used on the master (the original flstudio softclipper does not have a knee option at all just threshold and output)
Also What's your favorite between goldclip and kclip3?

The default is 4.3 as explained in the video. So not soft, not hard. That's the original FL curve. Here you have more options. Kclip if I want more of a transparent clipping, Gold is a specific color and behavior. They're not interchangeable for me

I think there is a problem when the cost of the clipper that emulates only one of the plugins in Fl is more money than Fl Studio Fruity edition with 84 Instruments and effects.
Besides the added features, if you want to use FL lol that's on you.

I use a million 3rd party clippers as an FL user. Never would pay for this lol. Just me though. You can use oxford inflator as well and get a similar sound. I think I'm done buying clippers as I have way too many.

Acoustica ash ultra is dead on to the lavry gold and lynx converters dynamic range saturation 3d my drums mixbus just comes alive with it but ill try this

I love this channel but I have a hard time with this one. I’m pretty certain this can be done with Melda Waveshaper for free. Melda MB Waveshaper can be had for around $30 on sale and would give Multiband capabilities.

Why would parallel processing require linear phase on a digital clipper? Does it somehow manipulate frequency information- or is this related to the OS filters?
Probably not, it will depends on the type of distortion added but If I'd make a clipper (hint) I would make sure that is phase compensated if a parallel processing is an option
@@mixbustv yeah, if there is a dramatic phase shift this processor then I suppose that points to a deeper issue. Analog hardware definitely alters the phase significantly more than a plugin such as this, and we take no issue with parallel processing (at least with compression). I find the linear phase option very curious here
I was like hmm, this is not bad, I could really notice the difference between OC and GC, but do I really need it since I have GC, and then got sold when you clipped the acoustic guitar. Ryan really got this one pumping! There's a number of people hyping Ash, as well as yourself, and as good as that may be, (demoed Ash and failed to use it properly - self ignorance) I can see that OC is much more simpler and easier to just dial in the sound that you want.
Pretty much the same. The difference was there for me right away but only after using it for a while I really fell in love with it

As a trap producer who uses ableton this saved me. No more bouncing stems and exporting through FL lol. Been waiting for this day. Anyone saying other clippers sound the same are wrong.
What makes Fruity Soft Clipper so good tho? I’ve never understood it.

David, 199 euros for gold clip. You have an expensive taste regarding German brands😅, Weiss... as well.. Is the Kazrog clipper still sufficient? How does it compare, it also has a soften function.
Clippers are program dependent, that's why variety is key, yet, clippers are somewhat all similar and in some cases (meaning not mastering and if you don't push them to the extreme) interchangeable, but Orange Clip sounds WAY different than any other. The examples here demonstrate how and why (and I also explain why) Kclip is not "sufficient" it's one of the greatest, yet, it doesn't do nor I'd use Kclip where I'd use Orange.

Compete on what? There's no competition because this is not meant to be a transparent clipper. Try to recreate this sound with any other. It's like saying a Ferrari can't compete with a Jeep. Yeah, and the other way around off road.

This really ain't it. I downloaded the demo and put it up against Decap's Drums that knock clipper. While the orange clip does have a crunchy sound making my open hats on a trap production crunchy, the 808 lost punch compare to Decap's clipper. I couldn't get the same sound out of orange clip. I was also able to push the clipper on Decap's plugin harder than last time. I find orange clip more suitable for single elements like vocals. But not on a drum buss, specially if it's a trap production. I tried it out in Ableton Live 12.
It literally single handed shaped the sound of Trap 😄 maybe it's not for you and that's fine. But let's be real
Nevermind David. My dumbass didn't realize the link button for input and output was on by default lol I am not going to delete my comment either. I tried it out again by level matching the 808. The clipper on Decap's plugin keeps the original sound, but still punches. The 808 does sound wider. An 808 using Orange Clip sounds more in the center, but it changes the sound of the 808. It still punches a little but harder then Drums That Knock.I'll correct myself on that. @@mixbustv

FL Studio can gnarfle the garthok. I can't think of a more unnecessary piece of software that became so ubiquitous.
This plugin will be extremely over used in modern music. If You think all music sounds the same now, wait until producers get a hold of this. All bass lines and low end will sound the same. MARK MY WORDS!!! This was a terrible idea in my opinion. Now every song will have a FL S TUDIO low end. Lmbo. It’s a no for me. Keep it original and unique ✌️
I don't know, everyone has a 76 but... It's just a tool, it's up to the user to make something unique with it or not. The lack of creativity and personality in the music production process it's what's missing.
Calm down lol not everyone's going to spend $120 on a clipper and that's just the intro price, this plug is for the people that either worked in FL and really want that sound in another DAW or people that don't mind paying a bit for a unique clipper. But that's a very small minority, so I doubt everyone will be using this like you seem to think.
