Thanks for watching it. Ya I have ran one for a couple years in my massey baler and round baler but I finally got around to putting one in this baler as well so I figured I'd video it incase someone had questions on how to put one in
I’m curious what the resistance is at certain moisture levels. I’m working on putting together monitoring system and want to include moisture readings along with bale weights and other things. Rather than have a different monitor for each reading I want to incorporate them into one custom monitor. I may try to get my hands on one and take some resistance readings at different moisture levels and use that to get a start on calibrating my sensor
I've never used a moisture meter, I guess I'm from the old school, pick it up by hand, twist it and feel it. Not exactly scientific approach, but I haven't had too many complaints. We usually let the hay dry out more than normal, so we may lose a little nutrient level, but I am not opposed to using one in the future. So if that's what my son wants to do...maybe we'll give it a try. Well good video, liked it, thanks for sharing, have a great week.
Ya I also give it a twist test when we get started but this is nice if your baling by a woods or in the evening when the dew comes down do you know when to stop.
@@LoefflerFarms I’ve never had an inline small square I like them quite a bit but I only do 6 acres of small square a year so I don’t feel that’s a justifiable investment unless increasing usage. My cousin has a bc5070 and just bought a caseih 541c same baler just different colors and a couple small updates due to being newer and he works for a case dealer so he got better discounts. Im running a new holland 276 that’s still running well
I wouldn't say they are extremely accurate out of the box but they are consistent so if you know what moisture you started at you can gauge where it's moving to. It's possible to set an adjustment to closer to actual as well I just haven't gotten it extremely close yet but within a point or so
Nice installation video
Recently installed the same moisture monitor in our NH 565
They work really well
Happy Harvesting

There is a monitor that does incorporate all that together but I can't remember the name of it right now

@@LoefflerFarms Great point, I've ran into the same problem.
Ya and I don't generally run the balers very often so it's easier to tell the guys helping me to stop when it gets to a certain moisture
Which baler do you like better? I like things about both balers and grew up on a Massey that paid itself off before I was thought of
I have since sold the new holland baler, I really like the inline design of the massey baler

How did you decide where to place your sensor? Just curious, I’m about to mount some myself.
In the instructions it tells you how far forward from the end of the bale chamber to place them, I'm not real sure what the measurements were though
Hi how accurate are they?

@@LoefflerFarms I dont have meter in my baler but been thinking get one to monitor. Will see have a great day.
