Loeffler Farms
Приєднався 26 лип 2012
We are a family farm located in northwest Ohio, we grow corn, soybeans, winter wheat and several types of hay. Our videos are to show how my father and I do things on our farm and to educate. If you have questions about anything going on in the videos I would be happy to answer.
Is it Worth Upgrading To A New Baler?
I am trying out a brand new New Holland roll-belt 450 round baler. In this video I am trying to see if it would be worth while to upgade from current 644 round baler to the new feeding system in the new round balers.

Making First Cutting Alfalfa Hay
Переглядів 8812 роки тому
I am about half way done with first cutting hay in this video, so the beginning is cutting the hay and then I didn't film any of the raking so the second half is baling the hay that I had cut. My two boys are also in and out of the video the youngest really thinks its funny to see himself in videos so he will be thrilled.
Planting with a JD 8640 and 40' Air Seeder
Переглядів 3542 роки тому
The final days of planting for 2022 are here and I rolled them all up in one video so you'll see me plant the last 300 acres or so of beans for this year. I am running our John Deere 8640 and 40' Hiniker Air seeder in traditionally tilled ground and at the end in some no-till situations.
Last Day Of Corn Planting
Переглядів 1322 роки тому
I got the corn planter fixed after blowing a hydraulic line and go plant that last field of the year but I did not film very much of it because I had lots of problems with the planter plugging up with weeds and was too frustrated to film

Great for loading the truck but how do they unload the truck? One bale at a time?
@melaniedyche4241 probably, i don't have to worry about that part most of the time though
Glad to see your video. I just bought a 210 and have never used a pull behind before. But this should be quite a bit faster in the fields. Thanks again and Hello from Texas.
I hear you, we haven't had much rain in the past few weeks, but we did have lots of rain last month!
Dude just say well "it's too dry guess I'll go fishing tomorrow" and sure a shit there will be rain on that parade 😂
@MrAwesomal that's pretty much exactly what happened yesterday, high winds and downpours
@@LoefflerFarms Murphy's law works both ways my friend lol
You gotta wash a black car, then it'll rain.
Awesome Brad
You would make a good jet fighter pilot the way you scan so quick from the monitor to the bailer. You will have to have your father bail while you stand near the cutter to see what it does without getting killed by the pto.
If you get in there with used motor oil and lube them chains up, large axel grease bottles with a good nozzle on it you can drench those chains.
Show us why the netwrap doesn't work right.
Yeah there's a sensor on that netwrap roll to prevent this
I have an 835 gator love it. Like the video but these guys lost all credibility in my opinion since they are wearing pioneer seed hats.
@micklathrop3554 it's the highest yielding seed in our area so that's why we grow it
Would a 70 hp tractor work it?
The older one or the newer one?
@@LoefflerFarms newer
I bought that 450 last year and run it on my new holland t4.75 ans rund without a hitch
Good to see you back on here. I hope to see your videos soon! Thanks have good day!
New videos coming soon hopefully…
So you’re spraying 10gal/ac? So 20 ac a fill?
Yes
Is that a 26ft. disc?
Yes it is
Hey, good to see ya back at it!
Hey, thanks!
Two words Pro Belt if you can swing the cash for it. It’s the chefs kiss
Which baler do you like better? I like things about both balers and grew up on a Massey that paid itself off before I was thought of
I have since sold the new holland baler, I really like the inline design of the massey baler
@@LoefflerFarms I’ve never had an inline small square I like them quite a bit but I only do 6 acres of small square a year so I don’t feel that’s a justifiable investment unless increasing usage. My cousin has a bc5070 and just bought a caseih 541c same baler just different colors and a couple small updates due to being newer and he works for a case dealer so he got better discounts. Im running a new holland 276 that’s still running well
where do you get your tarps? and how long do they last?
I can't quite remember the place i bought them from it was located in Oregon I believe and they have lasted me about 5 years so far
Who makes the loading dock and pusher? Looking to load this way myself.
You if you build one, I bought this one from someone who built it but I'm ready to part with this one if you're interested
@@LoefflerFarms I would be interested in it, what’s the best way to get in contact with you?
@rjfulper6101 probably email me at Jdcenter74@gmail.com, and then I can give you my phone number
@@LoefflerFarms did you receive my email?
Imagine doing that with one plow blade behind a mule?
Nope not for me
Good to see you! Have a happy Thanksgiving.
How to replace the water pump on a 1997 Jeep grandcheree 40
We have tracks on our Gator for lighter ground pressure. Cool sprayer.
We have a 8640 just like that
Damn good tractors if you know how to run them
@@LoefflerFarms I love the old John Deere 4wd’s
Good to see you, good luck with the corn!
That squeak 😮
That’s a great idea! I actually already have built a similar system a few years ago. I have a telehandler with just a pusher and a forklift on the grapple. How did you get the pusher to work on the grapple like that? That would keep me from having to use two machines
The grapple just holds it up enough to set it on the table, and then there is a long piece on it to push right on the face plate of the telehandler
@@LoefflerFarms gotcha, did you build this rig? Also I was wondering what you think about that bobcat telehandler. Do you think it has adequate power and boom reach?
Utility version or premium?
Not the utility one but I think the premium one only uses 4 belts
what a legend.
whats the length you need for 3 bales to fit snug in the 3rd part of the machine? so... how long does each bale need to be is what im asking actually..
How you like that Steffens grapple. I spoke to a dealer in Indiana, trying to get a quote on a 10 bale on edge. Been waiting 3 months and he hasn’t called me back.
I would be lost without my grapple I use it almost every day. I haven't had any problems with the grapple itself only with how I wired up the rotator. I bought mine from buck and knobby jcb in Swanton ohio they became a dealer for them when I bought this one
Does it have the moisture meter in the monitor? We run Vermeer rn but they don’t have the moisture meters
No this one did not, I usually just run a separate meter in the tractor
Nice setup !!
I had the same problem. Took us 6 hours to get ours off.
I think this took a good 3 hrs and I hated every second of it
in the market for one of these 1069, what would you say if they were selling for 12,000. i personally think its worth it, but would love your opinion.
Without seeing it its hard to say if it needs a bunch of work it may not be as good of a deal but at that price you can put some money into it as well
@@LoefflerFarms it does have 3,000 hours on it. But thanks for replying. I'm just trying to see what I'm getting into with someone that has actual knowledge of the similar type.
@@LoefflerFarms also, what are your thoughts on the gas engine? Is it... that bad??
@1Corinthians151-4 I've obviously the gas engine in mine and it's alright but man is it thirsty, usually go through 30 gallons of gas a day if I'm picking up all day but you can get quite a bit done in a day my biggest was just over 4,000 bales
diesel or gas? curious
New bailers are worth it, friend of my dads stopped by on a property we roll up, bottom field is 17 acres its upper is 5. Dad using an old bar bailer vs his new john deer belt. He rolled the bottom 17 and came up to help on the top 5. You would have thought dad seen a UFO lol
Ya my old still gets along pretty good for now but I would like to try a new deere as well
I have a millermatic 210 I think it is and I have the same trouble with mine. I gotta wonder if it isn’t the cheaper wire I get once in awhile, Chinese shit I imagine. The guy I buy it from is always like yeah I’ll get you a better price on this or that wire! Now I’m like “dude just get me the shit that works “!!
Hello, great to see a video from you, hope you have more coming! Thanks
I have a lot of footage from last year yet but not a whole lot from this year, just not sure where to start again
I literally laughed out loud when you showed the bales on top each other and says the windrows got a lil heavy. 😆
@@LoefflerFarms I think just showing your daily activities would be fine with me. I always like to see how others do it, especially ones that I like and have respect for. Just my thought on it! Thanks for all you do and have done!
how far are you from bad axe, michgan
About 3 hrs
@@LoefflerFarms
@@LoefflerFarms thank you
I went from a 644 with twine to a Netwrap RB450 last year and it's a very impressive leap in technology! The bales are rock solid, it doesn't miss a wrap (with quality betwrap), and she moves right along!
How did you run the wires for the raven 440? Also wanted to know what light bar are you using? Thanks great video
New Holland balers not so popular over here, other balers like McHale and Lely are heavier built for baling silage and will eat grass quicker too
Lely balers are not imported to the US to my knowledge, McHales are but very limited. Silage does not matter to me because I don't have use for it. And this baler was plenty fast enough for me maybe it would matter in a really smooth field but the ones I baled were not
How did you decide where to place your sensor? Just curious, I’m about to mount some myself.
In the instructions it tells you how far forward from the end of the bale chamber to place them, I'm not real sure what the measurements were though
Kverneland or vicon or another brand? Just got side pull 210, salesmen said he steered away from the 10 and 12 center pivot cause was just new holland sticker till this year.
Ya but a new 312 is about $46,000 now so I will have to pass on that
@@LoefflerFarms yeah lol, our 210 as delivered to dealer last fall, 31,500$, current model year ones that came in this spring another 5k
Don't know you but Michael Sharra has great Civil War books also try the Phillip Marlowe books by Raymond Chandler
How deep do you generally go in the spring with this cultivator, and what type of shovel do you use?
Only about 2.5 inches or less
