It has come to my attention that Red Dead Redemption has a bug where if you change the Frame Buffer size from 1GB to 4GB it will not auto allocate past 4GB. All other games to my knowledge at the moment work fine and can actually get an increase in performance. Regarding A1 vs A2 SD cards, I am going based on US pricing, but some A2 cards are as cheap as A1 cards, so why not get the faster card. Doesn't mean you have to, I would just shop around and see what best suits you. A1 cards are still great and perform very well.
i read somewhere that the steam deck sd card reading is capped at 100mbs so i mean if the price is the same as an a1 why not buy an a2 right but for people on a budget woulnt it be better to buy an a1?
@@dravyn757theicedragon8 I have a video coming up about this, but another thing to keep in mind is the write speeds when installing games. The A1 cards that I have take a while to install games, the A2 card I just got installs them significantly faster. But yes keep your budget in mind and if an A1 card makes more sense, by all means get an A1.
Will there be any issues when playing red dead redemption in changing the frame buffer size from 1 to 4? or it is still ok if I does not auto allocate past to 4gb? thanks
Bro, I am absolutely loving this presentation. It's like a realistic conversation and you don't include a million stupid little jokes like other people are doing well spoken and very clear audio. You earned an immediate subscriber out of me and I'm not even getting a steam deck for a while.
I'm in my 40's and the only reason I own a Nintendo Switch is to legally play first party Zelda and Mario games. To me, the Steam Deck is a way better value for the money as compared to the Switch.
You can emulate without it being piracy. Backup the ROMs yourself. Both legally and morally fine 👌 But you do you, I'm sure you've heard this before. 🙂👍

Very helpful tips. I am truly loving my Steam Deck OLED and the advice about increasing the framebuffer to 4gb actually did seem to help some of my games. This device blows me away with what it is capable of.

One that is kind of similar to emulation in that it is for the steam deck but doesn't come with it, people should try to install decky for the steam deck which is just steam deck homebrew and it allows users to install extensions and stuff, really cool and one of the most popular extensions lets users change the vibrancy of their deck since the steam deck's display sometimes seems a bit dull edit: just saw that you seem to also already use it, surprised it isn't on the list

Charging to 100%, draining to 0% and charging again does NOTHING other than ruining the battery... it's a tip that was correct and made sense like 15-20 years ago with old battery tech, now just try keeping it between 20 and 80 percent...
Well not necessarily. Some people reported (myself included) the battery health was not being reported correctly. This fixes that. Not only that but the battery replacement that iFixit sells, which is an official battery, also recommends doing the same thing I said.
This is one of the ONLY videos that has GENUINELY USEFUL ADVICE instead of the same common sense non-tips. Thank you!!! ALSO TIP NO.11 GET THE STEAM LINK APP FOR YOUR TV. NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THIS! YOU CAN STREAM TO YOUR TV WITHOUT A DOCK REALLY WELL AND IT'S WONDERFUL Although, come on dude, the battery life isnt nearly as bad as everyone is making out. Yes if you play modern AAA games at 60fps/uncapped max graphics you're going to drain a battery in an hour that is common sense. I’ll def have to look at steamlink. Regarding the battery, yea it’s something that can run those games, expecting more battery than an hour is unreasonable, but it’s something I would like. With some tuning it’s getting there.
The crave powerbank will charge your steam deck from 0 to 100 six times before it die out, it's expensive at 249 but it got a 50000mah battery that will basically let you play all day

I wouldn't recommend setting frame buffer size to 4gb unless you know what you need and want. The main reason is that it might affect how steam deck verified games run. For example Devil May Cry 5 crashes from time to time with 4gb, because the memory runs out and it doesn't have time to adjust. I would recommend keeping it at 1gb or at most 2gb and increase it if you have a specific game that requires it.

Ordered the 256gb version last night. I'm going to be playing ff 11 online and 14 on it. I plan to get tons of indy farming games like coral Island and kynseed.
Nice enjoy it!
Steam deck is capped at 100mbs persecond on read speeds so getting the pro sd cards isn't going to matter
The price difference between A2 and A1 cards is not much at all. May as well get the faster card.
This. San disk ultra is perfect. San disk extreme is twice the cost and overkill. £100 vs £200+ is not a slight difference in cost
@@jibijay I gues it depends on where you are in the world then. The Ultra is $125 here, and you can usually find the Extreme on sale for $140
super sweet video! question: what projector do you have? that was an awesome setup!
Its one from Apeman but they stopped selling it for whatever reason on amazon
What wallpapers are those behind you?
