the video is intended to illustrate a natural play-through and runs uninterrupted. it is cut at several parts in order to keep the run time under 15 minutes

As BLAME!'s biggest fan, I am so pumped for this. I love how you mimic an in-eye HUD display with the enemy stats and all. I cannot WAIT to play this.
I only just discovered this game about 20 mintues ago and in love with it. The aesthetic keeps reminding me of something. I can't remember exactly what but BLAME! does fit! :)

I just now realized how appealing a survival/scavenging type game can be if it takes place in a world that isn't boring as hell. I can't wait to see what this game holds, I would gladly pledge to a second crowdfunding campaign.

Every time I see a new update on this game I get excited, then I forget it even exists by the time the next one arrives. Honestly, I like it that way. It fits well with the feel of the game and I think constant progress reports and in-depth looks at the game would do it a disservice. Plus, the lack of proper hype around this game at this point makes the wait so much easier. When the time comes I will be ready to lose myself in your world sixe, but until then it is like a distant dream.
really happy to see you progressing well. not even a little upset this is taking long to finish. legit question, are you getting by day-to-day just fine? are you sleeping on a couch and eating like shit to get this done? your Kickstarter goals were not very high. I'll throw a few bucks at the project if it means you're eating a little better if you're struggling

I'm very pleased to see how this is coming along, audio/visual aesthetic is wonderful and movement/combat seems varied and interesting. Worth the wait.

Holy hell, this is gorgeous!
I think one thing that could help a lot with your game, if you're open to constructive criticism, is to make the shadow below your character more distinct. As is, it's sort of difficult to determine where the character on screen is while platforming, and I think that a clearly visible shadow that's constantly below your player would really help mitigate this because it could be used as a constant reference point for where you are in relationship to the ground. I realize the game is pretty dark, so it might be weird, but idk food for thought I guess. Otherwise I love how this game is turning out and I'm super excited for it!

I'm not confident I'm well enough at discerning depth that I'm not gonna be constantly jumping at shadows.
Looks fantastic, really can’t wait to play it. It’s been a while since I checked and thought it might have been released but couldn’t find anywhere to buy it and got worried... as long as it comes out eventually I don’t care how long it takes, I just hate when games as beautiful as this disappear. I remember buying a vita for this diablo type game but it was canceled even though it was damn near completed, and it looked like so much fun 😡

How did I not hear about this game? Awesome atmosphere and mysterious mechanics. Personally I would change the sword animation to sth like Hyper Light Drifter (I just dont like Stardev valley attack anims). But this BLAME like aesthetic is fenomenal.

I'm really starting to get worried about this game... It's absolutely amazing but i fear the dev will never be ready to release it. He said the development was almost over last year and here we are...

Been following this for years, I'm perpetually amazed.
He's Sixe and he knows it.
Seriously though Sixe, your color palette has gotten really desaturated and murky as development has gone on, without any of the really vibrant contrasts we saw in the original demo video. It kinda screams depression. I think that's why some people are worried about you taking care of yourself.
I'm, worried because it seems like it will be less fun for me. Where's the dark backgrounds, the bright contrast with the hero, the death lasers, big TV screens with the signal missing pattern, neon, plasma balls, flamethrowers trying to roast you as you run past big screens with the silhouettes of ladies on them? And the concept art, the art was very good. If things get all brown and murky I just won't be able to enjoy it personally.
Take care of yourself mortal. Do my bidding. Bring me a worthy offering. Distract me from the darkness for a while with something bright.

Question: How do you deal with vertical space and jumping in the game? Do you have some hacked-together system in place ir do you have invisible raised floors in 3d space? I'm curious because I've never been able to pull of the effect myself, at least not convincingly.
Alexander Ferguson placing a shadow beneath the character when they jump has been the answer since SNES days, basically making for a landing reticle
How does one deal with putting the character's sprite behind or in front if a raised object depending on whether or not they're standing on it?
@alexander ferguson: it is not necessary to consider this case if you assume that the character cannot intersect with the raised object in space. if the character is closer to the camera than the northern face of the raised object then it is always drawn in front regardless of the z position. note that there are no objects in the video that the character can both go underneath and stand on top of. it is one or the other. the draw depth of the raised object is set accordingly

Anyone know how this game is being developed? Like by using something like RPG Maker or whatever? Also, how about the music? Or what software is being used or would someone use to make music like this? Is that something that would just be done through an app like RPG Maker or would it have to be created by means of another app and then "transferred" over to the maker? I don't know any of the correct terminology. Sorry. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Even if i don't really have any contacts with the developer, i've gathered some information that i hope you'll find useful (i would suggest you to simply contact Sixe directly....but in this period he's not as active as usual, since probably he just want to finish this game that in theory should come out soon).
-The game is developed mainly on Game Maker Studio (GMS) v.1.4, with the possibility to being updated to version 2.0 in the future.
-He also used Photoshop, likely for graphics and animations.
-FL studio for the music.
