Excellent rendition of this song. I hope they will be performing in the Los Angeles or Orange County area so our family can go see them. Back in 2001 or 02, I saw a few shows of The Monkees at Disney's California Adventure when it was only Davy and Mickey touring together. Having watched every episode of the TV show when it was brand new, seeing this great tribute band brings a smile to my face.
They do a great job, as far as I'm concerned! I'm glad they don't try to rearrange the songs & just do them as written, without trying to add their own touches to them. Most bands that do so end up doing more harm than good.
Good Job By The Guy Who Is Davy, But The Guy Who Is Mickey Needs To Project His Voice More Or Ajust The Volume Of His Microphone. His Voice Gets Drowned Out By The Other Sings.
The Monkee Mens "joke" about going back to a time when "Boys liked girls. Girls liked boys and the only thing that swung both ways was Tarzan" was anything but humorous. It came across as hateful and ignorant. My hopes are that they take note on how ill received that joke was and find a more harmonious and kind way to fill in space between songs.
Well, that was an 80s joke originated from Davy Jones. It doesn't work now, so they should dump it. Besides, if people under 40 are in the crowd - they don't know what "Tarzan" is. Better to spend that time talking about the music "out of character." You know, stuff like who wrote the songs, etc.
Wow, they do a really good impersonation and I love the Gretsch guitar in the Vox amplifiers. These guys are just good.
