Here's a drum cover from one of my favorite artist, Tigran Hamasyan and drummer Arthur Hnatek. Subscribe for some more videos to come. Download the track here: itunes.apple.c...
+Josh Roberts Great! I'm studying Tigran's songs as well! I'll post many drum cover about Tigran in some weeks! :) I got Double-Faced too! Lots of learning! So, I've watched your drum solo you made in some park... Man, lots of sensibility! Totally tasteful! Congrats!!
+Matías Grinberg Hey Matias. Yeah so it depends on how you want to think about it. Essentially the whole song is in a medium 4 1/2 time thing. Basically I think of that section and the entire BD part in most of the track as just accented every 5 eight notes. So yeah you could say quintuplet but I find it easier to just keep the big 4 groove in my head and then accented the 5's underneath. Hope that's helpful. And sorry for the delay, I hope to be more active when my playing schedule slows down.
+Phil Cook Thanks Phil. So I've got 14" light Meinl Jazz Hats. A 18" Bosphorus trash crash (stanton moore), then actually a 22" Zildjian Kerope (prototype, before Zildjian made it an official line), then I have a stack consisting of: 20" 70's swish knocker with a 16" Sabian Evolution HHX crash (dave weckl) Pretty eclectic set up haha
+Josh Roberts What are you using in this video though? I'm pretty sure i spot a Meinl Byzance jazz series on the left, and the right one doesn't really look like a bosphorus trash :) Thanks!
Sublimely beautiful playing but awful tune sorry ! ... always loved the stuff he did with Dhafer Youssef, so technical and yet so musical , whereas this piece is antithetical to that. Nonetheless, smashing drumming
Great job, man!!!! Tigran is not easy to play, at all!
Great!!
Thanks Arthur I appreciate it. I'm looking to release some more stuff when my schedule slows down a bit.

If you don't mind my asking, the deal with the beat from minute 1 is a quarter note quintuplet over 8 eight notes? Thanks!

such percussive repetitious minimalist non melodic music is so suitable for a drummer to practise to.
You’re so wrong in many levels
that new classic from gretsch is life.
