This is because Daisy Circuit was in development much more recently, and was probably more convenient to add on short notice than Ice World. Theory-- What if we get a Mario Kart Ultimate for the Switch 2 which includes every course made? In this case theyre currently remaking every course, using Tour models for most, thus why the courses look better each wave: theyre all being improved and improved for a future release. This would explain how a course like Piranha Plant Pipeline, and many fan favorites, didn't make it; theyre saving them for the new game. The BCP and Tour can act as a way to affectively make up for the high costs of making the game (buying the BCP now and full ultimate later would cost $85 -- more likely to pay for the BCP and then full game later instead of paying $85 all at once).
imagine they piranha plant pipeline in a secret cup, along with the 3 other rainbow roads were missing, thus rounding the track count up to 100 and ending the booster course pass perfectly
I doubt they had any foresight back in the early waves as evidence by how rushed out they feel, but man, it should have been like Sky High Sundae who got the boot
Spiny cup is already showing lots of potential of becoming my favourite cup in the game. I just hope Madrid will play nicely in Mario Kart 8's engine, since some of the cities can feel pretty janky at times.
Pipeline could've been so cool to see. Imagine if the pipes were in anti-gravity, with you being able to drive on every bit of them like that one slide level in Galaxy 2
Ironically, I think more people care about Pipeline now that it's getting cut than when it was originally revealed. I guess appreciate what you have until it's gone.
Think about the ppp situation this way: Do you really want another tour track? We have so many of them, I believe we only have 3 3DS tracks in the BCP, so I was happy about another one! (Wish it was wuhu loop tho lmao)
@@Chill-n2c who’s stopping them from preserving PPP in Mario kart 9/10? (Edit: also it may not work in MK8’s engine, just like he said, it may have been replaced last minute)
The next (and possibly last for a while) time this track will ever be playable in a game is in July when the Pipe Tour reruns in MKT, and it'll be only playable for 2 weeks, so yeah. I would have liked to have all 21 tracks in lol
I feel like they should’ve teased DK Mountain, so that way we would’ve had the jungle argument finished with a lot sooner, there wouldn’t be as many people arguing against Wii Rainbow Road, and Daisy Circuit would’ve been a Huge surprise
Another thing that’s weird about this wave is that there are no GBA courses which does make sense because they put in most of the themes from GBA but at the same time Bowser’s Castle 4 was already in tour so idk maybe they’re saving it for the next Mario kart game
Not sure if you looked at leaks, but there was never intended to be a GBA course in wave 6 if the prefix leak was indeed accurate. BC4 is a good track, but there needed to be another SNES course and 3 just suited the role
11:56 actually the term "upbeat" in a song doesn't mean what allot of people think it means "upbeat" either can refer to the literal upbeats of a song or you can say a song is "upbeat" to say it mainly utilizes its upbeats (example: london loop) but i agree that wii rr's music is allot more energetic and celebratory
Makes sense.. I would say "They could've done airship fortress" but it would clash with bowser castle 3. I mean luigi's mansion was also in tour... Huh.. It's crazy that out of 96 tracks none are luigi themed
Well, it certainly has been a ride, and hopefully, the next entry will have even more to offer, now that we’re finally at the end of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!
Im willing to bet that Pipeline is gonna be a retro in the next game. It could be the only tour one. I could also see a secret cup but I doubt they're going to do that. I'd give it like a 10% chance.
I think DK mountain is in the second spot for the first cup because of the same reason Daisy Cruiser was like this in wave five, they were supposed to be in the wave before but missed out.
@@J-boy_64 True. We will have to see when the wave releases if there’s a reason for Daisy Circuit’s placement or if it’s just Nintendo doing Nintendo things
Good video, i couldn’t really watch it since I’m at a hotel but i read subtitles lol. I don’t really care for anything this wave has to offer but I’ll play it
I don't know if Pipeline was ever planned really. If it was, that means they have always planned for Cove and Pipeline to come in the same wave (given they'd be filling in CSNW_64 and CNSW_67 respectively) and that Pipeline would have always been planned to come in Wave 6 when in reality it plays and feels more like a Wave 1 or 2 track. Also if they really were planned to both be in Wave 6 that far in advance, I don't understand why they would give them such similar names. I think Pipeline was created purely just to give Tour a unique track of its own, and was never meant to come to the BCP. That would also explain why it feels so halfhazardly put together compared to other nitros and reuses a lot of assets from other courses like DS Mario Circuit and Rome Avanti and Piranha Plant Slide. Now why every city track had to come when their intent was never to preserve every single track? That is beyond me lol, surely they could have cut 1 or 2 of them and saved them for the next game to give the pass a bit more variety. Maybe it's because of the way their alternate routing works with the arrows and maybe they didn't want any of that in the next game idk.
Like you said I am SO GLAD we got Piranha Plant Cove instead of Pipeline, I despise Pipeline, to me it really does seem to similar to Piranha Plant Slide, mind you I am not a fan of Piranha Plant Slide as well, and the music for pipeline is very forgettable to me, and the track design is just super basic and boring to play. Sad we didn't get Mushroom Bridge but I had low hopes for getting 2 GCN's especially towards the end, but super excited to play DK Mountain!
i feel like dokan (ppp) should have had the spot of moonview highway in the 5th wave, for some reason they didn't like it (i'm expecting it would have made for a weird race with 12 players and scrapped it) or ig they didn't have it ready yet, thus moonview made the cut (which was supposed to be wave 6 placement 3, the daisy circuit one). now they had to add cove as a more difficult course and they thought that havibg 2 tracks in the same wave souding similar is meh, as such either dc or rosalina's ice world made it in
I think I thought of it. They are going to have 2 SNES, 1 N64, 2 GBA, 2 GCN, 2 DS, 2 Wii, 2 3DS, and 2 MK8 Nitros so they are doing Pipeline since N64 only has one more Nitro left to be used again for the next game (I do not know what the label would be since it is on the WiiU and in the Switch. It did come on the WiiU first so IDK. They will have some repeats and some old Nitro that has not been used for some extra cups but that is for the main 4 Retro cups
Predicting Mario Circuit 4, and Vanilla Lake for SNES, of coarse Wario Stadium in N64, Bowser Castle 4 and Rainbow Road in GBA, Mushroom City and Bowser Castle in GCN, now here me out, DS only has three tracks left to my knowledge so Figure 8 circuit and Bowser Castle, Toad’s Factory and Dry Dry Ruins for Wii, one of the Wuhu tracks and one of the followings ShyGuy Bazar Mario Circuit or Wario Shipyard for 3DS and for 8, Electrodrome and Dragon Driftway. That gives 15/16 tracks so Piranha plant Pipeline makes the only sense since it has been left out of BCP. That is my predictions for the next game’s Main Retro tracks
I’m thinking that the next Mario Kart game could have 48 tracks in the base game (same as MK8 after initial DLC), with all 24 base game retro tracks being brand new remakes that have never came back (not even in Tour) So, my list would be: SNES Bowser Castle 2 SNES Koopa Beach 1 SNES Mario Circuit 4 SNES Ghost Valley 3 N64 Wario Stadium GBA Broken Pier GBA Rainbow Road GCN Mushroom City GCN Wario Colosseum GCN Bowser’s Castle GCN Rainbow Road DS Bowser Castle DS Rainbow Road Wii Luigi Circuit Wii Toad’s Factory Wii Bowser’s Castle 3DS Wuhu Loop Wii U Mount Wario Wii U Excitebike Arena Wii U Mute City Wii U Hyrule Circuit Wii U Animal Crossing Wii U Big Blue Mob Piranha Plant Pipeline The DLC could then go nuts with popular legacy courses
@@jomaq9233I am talking about the Shell, Banana, Leaf, and Lightning. The other cups will have a mix of both. the Main 16 Retros is what I am talking about since obviously other tracks will make the rest of the initial 48
I predicted 3DS Rosalina’s Ice World as the surprise course, thought I was wrong in the September Direct, but when the Wave 6 trailer dropped 2 days ago I was reminded that Nintendo likes to throw us for more than a twist than THAT. It’s been a wild ride, when the trailer for the BCP was first dropped, I was just happy that we were getting ANY kind of Mario Kart content AT ALL. (And no, I didn’t care about the texturing, and that has not changed 5 waves later.) Wave 1 was pretty good, albeit a few stinkers. (*COUGHS* Sky Garden and Ninja Hideaway *COUGHS LOUDER*) Wave 2 was the worst one of the bunch in my opinion. (See Sky Garden for further details.) Wave 3 was my favorite for the longest time, and it STILL HOLDS UP! (I think it mainly has to do with the great retro selection, especially 3DS Rainbow Road.) Wave 4 is still mind-boggling but still really really great! (Thanks DK Summit and Yoshi’s Island.) Wave 5 was in my opinion 50% great and 50% what hell is even that?!? (I refuse to elaborate yet I think we all know why.) Which leaves us with Wave 6 and… this MIGHT be my favorite wave, period. I’m gonna not have high expectations, and hope that it sends us off on a high note… just hoping that they don’t ____ up Wii Rainbow Road my beloved. Also my top 5 favorite Mario Kart courses of all time are now all here: #1: Wii Rainbow Road #2: 3DS Rainbow Road #3: Yoshi’s Island #4: 3DS Rosalina’s Ice World #5: Wii Coconut Mall Also, I feel like they’re gonna save pipeline for the next game, BUT WAIT!! DERES MOAR!! Here’s the twist with that, they’ll make it so that it’s a NITRO course and delete any existence of Mario Kart Tour from it’s name. And to add to that, they’ll probably also give it ANOTHER name but still call it Piranha Plant Pipeline in the JAPANIESE version of the game. So what are you thinking? Pipe City? Color Pipe City? Big Pipe City? (I mean I COULD call it Green Pipe City, but not all of the pipes in that course are green. Yeah, they COULD retexture every non green pipe, but variety is the spice of life.) I’m open to suggestions!
True, but I had a weird fascination with Wii Rainbow Road when I was younger, I spent a lot of time just messing around on it for whatever reason, that and it’s themed after Super Mario Galaxy so that’s an extra reason why. There’s probably a few more, but I decided to give my personal reasons as to why.
The one thing they should do is let you select who races with you in GP I’m tired of seeing Inkling Link Villager and Isabelle show up in a race they’re NOT MARIO CHARACTERS
I’m excited for most part, sad we’re not getting Dino Dino Jungle but most of these tracks I’m experience for first time since skipped Wii & 3DS entries so this be good ending to journey

imagine they piranha plant pipeline in a secret cup, along with the 3 other rainbow roads were missing, thus rounding the track count up to 100 and ending the booster course pass perfectly
That be cool it’ll be interesting surprise
I dont think a cup would have 3 rainbow roads. Eather 4,1 or none
Think about the ppp situation this way:
Do you really want another tour track? We have so many of them, I believe we only have 3 3DS tracks in the BCP, so I was happy about another one! (Wish it was wuhu loop tho lmao)
That the entire reason we had the booster course pass was to preserve tour tracks
@@Chill-n2c who’s stopping them from preserving PPP in Mario kart 9/10?
(Edit: also it may not work in MK8’s engine, just like he said, it may have been replaced last minute)
For me, it’s the fact only one track wasn’t brought over. That is mildly annoying to me to not have all of them
@@Chill-n2cno. the entire reason was to make money.
The next (and possibly last for a while) time this track will ever be playable in a game is in July when the Pipe Tour reruns in MKT, and it'll be only playable for 2 weeks, so yeah. I would have liked to have all 21 tracks in lol
The ways he says Spiny Cup never gets old!
I feel like they should’ve teased DK Mountain, so that way we would’ve had the jungle argument finished with a lot sooner, there wouldn’t be as many people arguing against Wii Rainbow Road, and Daisy Circuit would’ve been a Huge surprise
4:36 I love how your the least excited for DK mountain, but it’s in my top 3 most anticipated tracks this wave lmao
Rosalina's Ice World, my favorite track and my favorite Rainbow Road are coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! 🤩
YASSS LETS GOO WAVE 6
Another thing that’s weird about this wave is that there are no GBA courses which does make sense because they put in most of the themes from GBA but at the same time Bowser’s Castle 4 was already in tour so idk maybe they’re saving it for the next Mario kart game
Not sure if you looked at leaks, but there was never intended to be a GBA course in wave 6 if the prefix leak was indeed accurate. BC4 is a good track, but there needed to be another SNES course and 3 just suited the role
Super hyped for wave 6 wii rainbow road Bowser's castle and dk mountain are awesome
11:56
actually the term "upbeat" in a song doesn't mean what allot of people think it means
"upbeat" either can refer to the literal upbeats of a song or you can say a song is "upbeat" to say it mainly utilizes its upbeats (example: london loop)
but i agree that wii rr's music is allot more energetic and celebratory
Makes sense.. I would say "They could've done airship fortress" but it would clash with bowser castle 3.
I mean luigi's mansion was also in tour... Huh.. It's crazy that out of 96 tracks none are luigi themed
My man luigi got stiffed
200cc will be chaotic on Daisy Circuit, so many things can go wrong especially going around the lighthouse at the end lmao.
Well, it certainly has been a ride, and hopefully, the next entry will have even more to offer, now that we’re finally at the end of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!
Tbh, the underwater pipe in Koopa Cape was a bit janky if you didn't use the half pipe so kinda glad Pipeline got looked over
Im willing to bet that Pipeline is gonna be a retro in the next game. It could be the only tour one. I could also see a secret cup but I doubt they're going to do that. I'd give it like a 10% chance.
I really hope that in Wii rainbow road, the song will be Rainbow Road ( yk which one I'm talking about).
Even if they DID block off the shortcut on DK Mountain, the Mario Kart community will find a way to hop the fence.
It looks like wave 3 may finally be beaten, wave 6 is probably gonna be the best.
Spaniard here. Madrid's OST in 8 Deluxe actually sounds way more Spanish than Tour one. It sounds Andalusian but whatever, is still Spain.
We're still missing 51 Courses at this point. Time to announce Booster Course Pass 2!
The Exclusion of Piranha pipe pipeline for me makes me theorise that the secret cup theory may not be as bullshit as i wouldve first thought
10:11
Damn right. Such a charming little game.
I think DK mountain is in the second spot for the first cup because of the same reason Daisy Cruiser was like this in wave five, they were supposed to be in the wave before but missed out.
Daisy Cruiser is also a fairly tame track. Moonview is arguably more hectic if you ask me
@@lemonquacklol Sure, but Sunset Wilds is much more simple than both those course, yet is put later in the wave
@@J-boy_64 True. We will have to see when the wave releases if there’s a reason for Daisy Circuit’s placement or if it’s just Nintendo doing Nintendo things
Te leftovers from Tour will probably be used for Nintendo Switch 2.
im so glad pipeline is not coming, im one of the few people who saw this coming
I Was Hoping Pipeline Would Somehow Make It Because I Didn't Play It In Tour Because I Thought It Will Be Added.
Good video, i couldn’t really watch it since I’m at a hotel but i read subtitles lol. I don’t really care for anything this wave has to offer but I’ll play it
For all they waves so far wave 4 has been my favourite but i do think this last one will become the best
3DS ROSALINA’S ICE WORLD MY FAVORITE TRACK OF ALL TIME IS IN WAVE 6!!!
I have a feeling I raced you in 8DX yesterday but you got DC’d after one race. I hope that was not an imposter 😂
I haven't actually played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in over a month lol! I've been so caught up with Super Mario Bros. Wonder...
Albert is the only one excited for rosalina’s ice world we all know this
Is it just me or does this wave look better than the base game besides the trees on Madrid drive.
The explosion punchline never gets old
No they scrambled together to make a remaster of Daisy Circuit
My hype ranking would probably be:
1. Wii Daisy Circuit
2. 3DS Rosalina's Ice World
3. Tour Madrid Drive
4. GCN DK Mountain
5. Piranha Plant Cove
6. Wii Rainbow Road
7. Tour Rome Avanti
8. SNES Bowser Castle 3
i feel like dokan (ppp) should have had the spot of moonview highway in the 5th wave, for some reason they didn't like it (i'm expecting it would have made for a weird race with 12 players and scrapped it) or ig they didn't have it ready yet, thus moonview made the cut (which was supposed to be wave 6 placement 3, the daisy circuit one). now they had to add cove as a more difficult course and they thought that havibg 2 tracks in the same wave souding similar is meh, as such either dc or rosalina's ice world made it in
I think I thought of it.
I’m thinking that the next Mario Kart game could have 48 tracks in the base game (same as MK8 after initial DLC), with all 24 base game retro tracks being brand new remakes that have never came back (not even in Tour)
So, my list would be:
SNES Bowser Castle 2
SNES Koopa Beach 1
SNES Mario Circuit 4
SNES Ghost Valley 3
N64 Wario Stadium
GBA Broken Pier
GBA Rainbow Road
GCN Mushroom City
GCN Wario Colosseum
GCN Bowser’s Castle
GCN Rainbow Road
DS Bowser Castle
DS Rainbow Road
Wii Luigi Circuit
Wii Toad’s Factory
Wii Bowser’s Castle
3DS Wuhu Loop
Wii U Mount Wario
Wii U Excitebike Arena
Wii U Mute City
Wii U Hyrule Circuit
Wii U Animal Crossing
Wii U Big Blue
Mob Piranha Plant Pipeline
The DLC could then go nuts with popular legacy courses
Also my top 5 favorite Mario Kart courses of all time are now all here:
#1: Wii Rainbow Road
#2: 3DS Rainbow Road
#3: Yoshi’s Island
#4: 3DS Rosalina’s Ice World
#5: Wii Coconut Mall
Also, I feel like they’re gonna save pipeline for the next game, BUT WAIT!!
3ds rainbowroad is much better and much more interesting than wii rr
If Nintendo mess up Wii Rainbow Road by making it only one lap like in tour I am going to sue them
NO WAY YOURE MORE EXCIED FOR THE TOUR TRACKS THAN DK MOUNTAIN!?!?!?
As long as it plays well, it was worth the cut. Even then, I’m still shocked if it’s inclusion. Nintendo just *LOVES* surprises I guess.
3:40 So that's why in the Italian translation the track's called "Romantic Rome"😂
I was actually hoping for no Piranha Plant Pipeline, two Piranha Plant tracks in one wave would be way too… flat.
The only reason I wanted DK Mountain was for the shortcuts… I would have much preferred ddj if we weren’t gonna get the shortcuts ):
