    Hey everyone, In today's video I will be covering 3 separate unsolved missing fisherman cases that date from 1896, 1902 and 1945. In each case the fisherman went missing only to be later found under mysterious circumstances which involved foul play. In each case the Fishermen were found to be victims of foul play.
    My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and future generations of their families that will probably never know what happened to their loved ones 🙏
    Thank you for watching🙏

    Bryan, I think I watched 75 percent of your videos on this play list. As someone who aspires to be a private investigator/ Study cases like this. You are such a huge inspiration! The sheer amount of research and accurate pictures you find to highlight the key aspects of these investigations are truly top notch! I haven’t found a channel as detailed as you are. Some people rag on you for not making extremely scripted content , you might say 3am when you meant 3pm but you always make a correction on screen . I just love that. I dislike thoroughly scripted cookie cutter type of videos . God willing I can make any kind of difference in someone’s life . Much love to you bro. God bless you abundantly

      @@bawattsyl .. people pleasing can be so desperately exhausting, can't it ? It's difficult though because it usually comes from a place of genuine compassion. I’m from San Pedro and just throwing it out there that the port of L.A (that being SP, Long Beach, Wilmington) is Los Angeles in name only, it has a distinct and unique history separate from L.A, culture, architecture, demographic, geographic, -wise. Getting to downtown Los Angeles from here is a drive of over an hour and change at least and up to two and a half depending on traffic. Fishing, Shipping, Maritime endeavors and interests of all kinds have always been very critical to the port cities, with surfing as well beginning in the 60’s. Longshoreman (dockworkers essentially) makeup the majority of the funds and funding for San Pedro and Wilmington at least which is currently the strongest labor union still standing in America. Beautiful and unique geographical, cultural and culinary features abound and is a pretty cool place to visit if you find yourself in the area. Not sure what possessed me to write this book about my hometown for the tourism board on UA-cam just now but uh here ya go, ha.

Since I am from the area, I just let him know how to say it. There was no scolding. I wouldn't call myself a know-it-all viewer either. I don't have to be a know-it-all to pronounce the name of town I am familiar with. Perhaps you should just chew on the peanut butter instead of making assumptions you know nothing about. I apologize if this gets posted twice. I think that the two Platteter men are the same person. The "Waukesha Daily Freeman" has one article on page 1, dated July 11, 1945 with the headline, "John Platteter killed by...", age 74, 238 Albert Street. The next day, July 12, page 1 on the same newspaper, has the headline, "Melvin Fischer held..." This article gives the name of the decedent as Louis Platteter, age 79, 238 Albert Street. The story is the same for both men. Also in this article is the funeral arrangements for Louis which lists a son as John. The final case with the ironies of the two victims having the same surname, 3 yrs age difference & both engaged in the same activity ends with the final irony, the man convicted of one mans murder having the surname "Fisher".
    Back in the day the police didnt have the technology available to us but populations were smaller & communities were much more close knit, people tended to have some familiarity & knew the basics of locals actions day to day, those that were loners stood out as much simply for being loners, outsiders were like neon in small towns.
    That probably changed during the late 1920's to 1930's with the Automobile being more commonly available.

    I love these old stories. I grew up not far from Wilmington, and I never knew there was a lake there - although I knoew the Watson family originally owned a lot of the land there. My thought it that it was the Swiss milk delivery man, and that it was a suicide.

    Wait a minute- none of those deaths were connected- it's just three isolated cases of murder where 3 random individuals just happened to enjoy fishing?

    Do you have an online source for newspaper archives?

    • @bawattsyl
      @bawattsyl  Рік тому

      Yes I have a subscription to newspapers.com
      It's a great source of information. They have newspapers from over a hundred years you can access, from all over the world. It's roughly 75 dollars a year. But we'll worth it! I always list all my sources on the description but if you want to email me for more info, my address is in the description too! Thank you for always commenting 🙏 how are you feeling these days? The doxy is really taking its toll on me;( so many horrible side effects..

      @@bawattsyl I've been doing well. Thank you for asking. I hope you are feeling well. I have had you in my prayers. The reason I was asking about the newspaper is kind of a long story. I will email you soon and explain more. You may be able to point me in the right direction.

      @@rhondaburke2231 of course I'd be happy to help anyway I can. And I'll glad you're feeling well🙏I'm doing ok but the side effects from the doxy are very hard on my body;( because it's so strong it kills all the bacteria in your system, even your good bacteria in your stomach that helps break down certain foods. But anyway yes definitely let me know any questions you have and I'll help! Thanks again for all your kind words🙏

    I find historic cases and their original investigations fascinating. Often Sherlock Holmes work.
    I think even today, many of these fishing cases would go unsolved, especially if they're stranger on stranger crimes. The body being in water, particularly flowing water is definitely a complicating factor.
