For n-butane We are rotating 60° If we start from Eclipsed conformation by assuming it O° then after 60° rotation the new confirmation will be Gauche staggered At 120° partially Eclipsed At 180° Anti-staggerd At 240° Partially Eclipsed At 360° after one complete revolution it will be again Eclipsed
For Ethane if we start from O° from staggered then Eclipsed will be at 60° then at 120° it will be again Eclipsed At 180° it will be Staggered and so on
If torsional strain is high In a compound the compound will be less stable.....bcz the repulsive force will be maximum at high torsional strain. Such as in Eclipsed conformation....... Sorry sir I am confuse with this concept.
