Knew something was up when 1.) the Kreen took the supposed "weapon" from a peaceful species 2.) how it described the three species and their home systems as being "Destroyed."
To be fair, sending entire systems to the Shadow Realm is usually an *excellent* superweapon. And the peaceful species probably was using it for waste disposal...
Quick reminder that before nukes were first used it was theorised that they may burn the atmosphere and kill all life. It was used anyway. Knowing what weapon does before using is not that common of the sense
@@Krokmaniak This is actually false. They did the math and there wasn't enough to sustain the reaction, there's documentaries on this. By the time they did the trinity test they actually knew that wouldn't happen... but this myth persist. It's the same type of 'yes the large hadron collider can create black holes - but they are so small they disappear instantly - and they don't have the mass to actually cause any damage'. Just mentioning it, because that myth always gets on my nerves.
To be fair, to the unimaginative "removed from existence" would look like "destroyed", but really they just knocked their targets out of phase, or something like that. The humans were simply the easiest to draw back into phase, complete with their armada that was still ready for the first round.
Well.. assuming they can find them. The other races got shunted way deeper into the Great Dark..perhaps too deep if the laws of physics no longer apply there.
One simply cannot get rid of humanity. We always survive. Regardless of what they decide to throw at us, we'll steal it, study it, and reverse engineer it. And may God save you if we find out it was you that sent hell to our people.
Sigh! Predictable! They took something from a peaceful species, used it as a weapon, without bothering to understand what exactly the damn thing does! Typical techno barbarians! I so enjoyed that the instrument of their downfall was a child.
Yeah, my thoughts as well, that and how the story described the three species and their home systems as being, quote-unquote, "destroyed." The Kreen need a dictionary.
Greetings, Mentlegent! For the Rhyhtm that is Algo At first I thought this wasn't HFY. But then it gave me a very pleasant plot twist and was HFY after all!
good stuff as always Agro...one question...what is the music that plays in the background? you seem to pick the right music for the story, and I'd like to hear more of it.
the story reminds me of a passage from the Canticle of Cassandra Lev, Vol. CVI... "And so, the grey-clad came from the outer night, and their jagged maw did swallow the stars, and their black gaze did mirror the void of oblivion. Their pale shadows fell upon the servants of the skulled-one with great fury from the darkness, unseen as the beast that lurks beneath the black waters, death for death, blood for blood... Thus were the sons of Sanguinius bought respite, and did turn back upon their pursuers, and so were the damned traitors of the false gods driven unto their ruin." it references the Carcharodons Astra and well in this case one could say the "grey-clad" are the humans in this story with the Partook being the "sons of Sanguinius". The Kreen being the servants of the skulled-one as like the servants of the skulled-one they lacked the tact and guile to truely understand the function of the "superweapon"
@@badbloodkiller3471 The kreen had nothing to do with how it works. The device might not have even been intended as a weapon. Multi-dimensional travel could be quite useful.
Why do you think a human was so ready to befriend her? Granted, the fact that she is a child would incline us to do so, as well as protect her. And how do humans tend to react when kids are threatened and/or endangered?
Tulith: (pushes the button)
Humans: We're back. And we're kinda pissed about that dirty trick.
Zeno:The humans are dimension hopping agian.
Another zeno:nothing new they do that eventually.

Well that came to bite them in the butt. Note to self, actually know what your weapon does before you fire it.
reminds me of my first and only use of the devolution beam in stellaris. utter garbage
Ya you could of just sent the humans to furry heaven. The other aliens died but the humans pack bonded and are bring them back with them.

Well... The Humans had quite some time on their hands to build a LOT more ships. After all, they had a few centuries of building.
It's not that the "weapon" couldn't be used before it was fully charged, it just wasn't as effective if it was.
“I told you so”
You can’t tell me that nobody wanted to say this at least once to their parents 😂
That final message was just
Now that the humans know how the device works then go back and bring the other ones back to this dimension

That the plan, I think. Could take a while to find them but there's hope. If they're lucky, the other two are neighbors.
