Good video Steven and particularly interesting as I was deciding between Nika & Uukha earlier this year. In the end I bought Uukha SX100 mainly because my previous VX+'s had been so good. The SX100s are a really nice fit on both my Nano TFT & Meta DX risers, as good as the original WinWin limbs I started with. After your video I'm so glad I did, movement like you've shown would have been a deal breaker for me. Even if the play was reduced after being strung I'd still wonder how good the alignment was after release and before the arrow left the string. It's no point being faster if it's not going where you're aiming, you're just missing faster......

A guy in my club has some Nika limbs. Same side to side play with his riser. You can push the strung limb to the side and it stays that way. So the limb is out of alignment. Would be an absolute deal-breaker for me. Archery is about precision.

    Good rundown.
    Thanks.
I wonder if the guy in safety vest realized he'd be seen across the world all the way to Canada? 😂 lol

Steven, seeing as you have both why don't you do a speed test. I did one against some wood limbs and the Nik'a were alot faster. Also the N3 were more like my Uukha HX10 Evo2 limbs.

Do they come with different size limb bolts? Jake Kaminski sells 2 different size precision limb bolts depending on your limb manufacturer.

The Uukha limbs and Gillo risers being a very tight fit is a pretty well known issue. As ILF is a very loose "standard" Gillo's limb bolt is on the larger size of the scale, their limb pockets are on the smaller size and Uuhka's limb slots are on the smaller end too which is why it's such a tight fit. My Uuhka SX50's fit great on my W&W ATF-X riser.

Started shooting Nika N3 limbs with Win&Win Inno CXT riser. The fit is a bit loose but a tape around the tiller bolts fixes the issue easily. Haven't shot Uukha but compared to Win&Win inno Ex prime, Nika N3 were slightly more smoother to draw. Definitely great for the price. Don't have anything against it.

I was hoping for this comparison. I love an Uukha but $1000 is a harsh price point

Try Border Archery limbs. They are not quite as expensive, but torsionally more rigid and they are also faster.

    • @mrnice752
      @mrnice752 6 місяців тому +1

@@adamkilroe9840 Not quite as expensive? Border's cheapest ILF limbs, the CV2, are £817 plus £25 postage in the UK. These Uukha's are less than half at £330. While Border limbs are great, they are not a budget option...

I have an old Uukha vx1000 evo 2 limbs an the limb bolt grooves are shallow as the Nika and it makes sense if the Nikes are a copy of the old Uukha. The comparison here is to a new Uukha limb.

What about replacing the Limb Bushings with something of better quality?

    • @Bobsbowshop
      @Bobsbowshop 3 місяці тому

I have TRADTECH type limb bolts with the brass insert for the actual limb fork. The nice thing about them I can mill out my own bushing to the exact size of the nika limb, I’ve made some for other limbs of mine. Seems like the standard size of most limb forks are .375” and the bolt sizes float to .373”- .370” which seem lies the problem. So if you have any friends that have access to a lathe, you can eliminate all the wobble.

Nika c1 and c 2 are heavier physically and are slow speed wise compared to a lighter laminated limb. Nika c 1 and 2 are mostly fiberglass solid core so expect a slower limb

This is not my experience. The C1's are a bit slower, but the C2's are very fast and stable for their weight, and cast a 9-10GPP arrow with authority. They are faster on my chrony pound for pound than my Hoyt Traditionals and Buck Trail Elite 3K, but comparable to the very light Sanlida Miracle X10's.

Must say I find this video and a few of the comments a little strange. I have 4 sets of Nika limbs, 2 pairs of which are the N3's (Longs and Mediums).
The #1 primary difference between the SX50's and the N3's is their curve profile. This ought to have been properly covered in the video, in a side-by-side. The N3's are not similar to the Uukha S series in any way. They are however very similar to the old Evo2 limbs that Uukha discontinued - a smooth but more conventional draw force curve. The N3's are very smooth on the draw, but don't have that soft back of any of the Uukhas today. Some folk like trading preload for a soft back end, others do not. I prefer the crisp release of the N3's by far, for its shot to shot consistency.
The #2 difference not mentioned in the video is the production quality. Nika's N-series are higher than the Uukha SX50's. Yes, it is true. The clear coat is extremely durable (1000's of shots and a lot of travel) compared to the Uukha's, which are well known for flaking and cracking off. The carbon cloth lay on the Nikas is also pretty much immaculate, straight and even. Not a seam, and comparable to top-end Uukha's. I have shot mine side by side Uukhas and the difference in production quality is quite noticeable against the SX50's and Gobis.
The #3 difference is in the weight. The N3's are a little heavier in mass than the SX50's or the budget line Nature series Gobi's (+/-2lb tolerance).
As for the comment that they are barely concealed lam limbs, this is simply not the case! They are a stick of glass very nicely and entirely wrapped in carbon cloth. I have not a seam on mine, nor any of the many Nika N-series or C-series limbs I've seen. My C1's are just the same. I don't think that poster actually bought real N3's. Post a video so we that do own the Nikas take a look. It is false to say they are a lam limb.
Finally, the concern for limb fit is somewhat overblown. Under load, when I check for string alignment on all of my many risers, the string is dead straight down the back of the limb bolts. I agree that on a couple shown in the video the N3's could be a tighter tolerance, but no big deal in reality. That's what the well shaped U and dovetail is for, to center under load. And it does perfectly on the N3's in practice.
These are very fast, very well made limbs.
    Hope that helps 🙂

I've seen bad fits with ILF on an Akusta riser. But the Nika N3 & C1 limbs work better than most on that particular riser. The Bear limbs I put in were really bad. So bad that I almost wasn't able to take the limbs off. The new Nika ET-12 is pretty much a custom fit with either Nika limbs. The limb bolts & pockets along with the grip are really top notch on this ET-12 riser & the cutouts really atand out. I was pleasantly surprised with every feature on the riser. Shoots great with a very short stabilizer when attached to the very bottom hole just above the bottom limb pocket.😅🎉

That fitment is just too loose, can't do much about that without expoy or something crazy.
Such a crucial thing, I wouldnt risk it.

Nika has to work on their quality control..Steven look at the sides of the Nika limb there is no carbon on the sides. Look at Uukha it has carbon on the sides. This means Nika is still a laminate limb with carbon skins on the belly and back of the limb

You have not bought the N3's, but some other limb. Please provide a video showing this. My N3's, both sets and the several others I have seen, are all quite evidently pre-preg carbon monolith limbs, not a seam on the side. And the production quality is nothing short of excellent.

Nika N3 is very close to gillo Q2/3 series in terms of curve and feel, it's in the price range of vellator. guess wich one is garbage? 🤣
Nika requires epoxy & carbon afterwards to get a good fitment since the people that cut these are obviously blind.
If you decide to sell that garbage you'll have to shake all your limbs to see if the bolt is long enough. If not the spring wont engage and the limbs will simply fall out while stringing.
I have 3 Gillo risers and the nika's were way too loose on all so it's completely random. It's just a bullshit company to deal with that only sends out checked limbs to reviewers.
Armin himner is the latest example with their crab bow. His was fine yet the one sent to bamboo archery was unshootable.
In terms of performance when you get them to fit & function properly it's a mediocre limb at best not worth the money over a gillo/vellator.
I just have them mounted on one of my gillo risers to new people can try a decent setup barebow, since i don't really care what happens to the limbs if someone dryfires it by accident 😂
