Im currently recomping at 25%ish body fat. Ive gotten more compliments at this % then i did at a lower %. I love my body right now, love how the lifts feel, and love not having to keep as strict a diet.

Just came out of a bear mode 🐻 winter and slimming down for summer (I'm in Melbourne Oz). Everything you said re bear mode is 💯. I've done one previously and I've been more or less bulking for 4 years (not aggressively slight surplus / maintenance). I ca relate to the recomp just living in that bigger state and re comping back down to your 12-17% slowly is the way to go. I know when you're in it and you start to get dismorfic and want to cut aggressively but do it slow and reap the rewards. Nothing of value that will stand the test of of time is built over night. 🤜🤛
You are the only one who looks good with big arms on fitness youtube. I usually don't like bigger arms, I don't care about building arms after a certain size....I'm already arm dominant, my torso is narrow.
Love to hear someone talking about how it comes down to choice and preference. I did bench press for so long just because I felt like it was this super important lift. The problem is it doesn't agree with me and I kept blowing out my shoulder which has hindered my progress. Now I prioritize OHP, less weight but I don't get injured so the gains can keep coming! I feel like it's a more moderate, sustainable take on the bear mode with more of a balanced focus on aesthetics and size as opposed to purely size as in bear mode. There seems to be a lot of crossover with the whole "70s big" idea.

But that doesn't mean the physique itself can't be a goal for a bodybuilder. Also, it's a 4chan thing so the community that preaches the husbando mode can be very 4chany.
Phil from Fitworldexposed, tho I am a fan, is the embodiment of everything wrong with Bear Mode. The man got straight up FAT and believe he had put on legitimate size. All his neck, arm, and back "gains" was literally just fat packed on to his intermediate level physique. At your bf, you can just maintain and keep training, you'll reach bear mode eventually
Favouring a muscle will allow you to build the physique you want, neglecting muscle groups will give you the injuries you do not want

I started training quads and calves with a form in mind and I have seen accelerated results.
