Because the shooter is dead. The person of investigation is dead. And releasing information won’t hinder of finding the truth of what the dead shooter did. But in other investigations, releasing information to the public can hinder the investigation. And give the person being investigated an edge on dodging the investigation.

They actually had an officer on the ground and an officer on the roof securing the building that the shooter was on so drones were not needed. Unfortunately a decision was made to leave the building unguarded and bring the officers inside to the air conditioning that day because of "excessive heat" This is all starting to come out. Whoever made the decision to abandon those posts because the officers were "hot" is the reason this happened. Not sure how high up that decision went or from how high up it came down, but those responsible for that decision are the culprits

They could have just gotten a sample from his parents as well or matched it from samples taken from his home.
