Love your reviews with kids and luggage. About to move back to Canada from Asia and have been thinking between the current generation (about to be obsolete) GLS, the Expedition and this Navigator or a Pacifica and all of the reviews I saw had one guy talking and driving about the car. It's great your reviews visualised the wife and kids and luggage I wasn't sure if there were room for luggage in these with the third row up (except the Pacifica that has massive space regardless of seats up or down)
I'm afraid it's a bit on the cheap side for my disgustingly wealthy family 💰💰💰, if they had only charged me an extra 100k for no reason it'd be a done deal. 🤷♂️
I would like to see the 1 year review, My take on the rear entertainment is garbage. From the back buttons, to put down the second row seats. The seats fold automatically and smash into the the monitors. It would be nice if you could stop the 3rd row seats in halfway position to stop groceries from sliding around. Lets not forget the cam phasers and turbo issues. Mine were replaced at 12,000 miles. Oh gotta love the rattling sunroof. I dislike I paid 100,000 for a headache
A base Navigator is only $4k more than the Expedition Platinum and essentially the same car with different styling. If you want an Expedition that is much cheaper, you have to drop features.
In regards to the rattle/bumping/cabin noise, 22 inch rims on a body on frame suv will cause that. Itd be interesting to see how base models perform with 19 or 20 inch wheels and thicker sidewall tires.
idk if you could order one with it, but the dealer could probably swap the rims once you get your car. Might hurt the resale value though, especially if you don't keep the stock 22s to put back on when it's time to sell
Dido the Great Review! I special ordered one in late December, but I think I will wait until 2019 now. I hope Ford pays attention to your review, for $100k vehicle to have less safety features that a Toyota Corolla, embarrassing. I could already see the leather driver seat stretching after your trip. I think you are right about way above average wear. Thanks for pointing out the positive AND negative, very helpful.
Jake Stoler just would find it bizarre. Just like the amount of people complaining when Honda switched to touch screen volume adjustment. People were outraged by it but I was sitting there like... I use the steering wheel anyways and this is easier to clean so..
If you look at the screen when he stated no access button you will see there was a quick access button on the screen. He did not have to go to another window. Look towards the right. Not a very detailed review.
I understand that the Navigator has the same platform as the Expedition and this time Lincoln has done a great job to make each vehicle unique as it should because of the difference in price. But why do these reviewers always never mention the same issues between the Cadillac Escalade and the Chevy Tahoe or the GMC Denali. You don't have to be a self proclaimed expert reviewer that in many areas the difference in price between the Tahoe/Denali and the Escalade is as questionable as between the Expedition and the Navigator yet these reviewers rarely mention it. Its like these reviewers have some personal vendetta to destroy the Lincoln brand.
Hi Chris... I've never had a chance to review the GMC/Cadillac equivalent but I assure you, the price disparity is something I'd raise with those trucks, too!
Another excellent review Paul. Just imagine how much money Ford makes by selling what is fundamentally a 25k F-150 for four times as much. As for longevity, look at any used Escalade or Navigator on the road. It's not pretty.
With the modern technology that goes into struts and shocks who needs a air suspension unless you want to raise and lower a vehicle which comes with the downfall of the reliability
Lincoln needs to follow Genesis in offering Black Label standard and not nickel and dime your early supporters. They want to be different than the Germans but they charge you for every little thing just like the Germans. Maybe not so different after all. Beautiful in fully loaded trim but not impressive in lower trims. That navy interior leather is just gorgeous and rich looking.
They allow you to buy options rather than make you buy packages at a greater expense, I see nothing wrong with that. Look at cost options on the Luxury foreign brands compare to the Luxury American brands American brands hands down less expensive.
Goco Family this would be an absolute perfect application for a diesel. The nvh though would not lend itself to luxury though. In the Expedition, absolutely
If you go that big, you might as well go Expedition Max (the long version) or a Suburban. As for the luxury touches, in a vehicle like that, the possibility of damaging them would just bug me. I guess I have a utilitarian mind. Also, since I live in California, leather is a penalty, not a benefit (hot sun), so fancy leather is like a fancy penalty -- pointless. I much prefer sturdy fabric for upholstery. I wonder if in cold climate it wouldn't be the same?
mountainhobo unfortunately you cant get any of the luxury features with cloth seats in the expedition. But I agree, in the freezing midwest, id rather have cloth - heated cloth would be the ultimate. Ford needs to take a page from Ram, in the 1500 bighorn you can get heated cloth seats with navigation without having to upgrade to leather. Pretty sure this is possible in the tahoe ls trim as well.
They really screwed up the rear windshield wiper. Why didn't they hide it under the spoiler like the GMC Yukon... So much fail. Still no Apple carplay? Cmon man...
It also is integrated with siri without picking up the phone and has integration with Amazon Alexa with its Alexa/Lincoln App. He didn't do a very accurate or detailed review.
Don Motz I checked it out at the car show. I think the price is justified. It’s nicer than expedition in my opinion. With employee discounts ford does in Canada every summer there will be discounts on these soon.
Hi aleks....you must work for Ford...lol......but in all seriousness, how can anyone justify $100k for any vehicle when you are just a workin stiff??? I cant. It would be nice but not possible for the majority of working people.
Don Motz I personally am not at a point where I could afford something like this for my family comfortably. I looked up the stats and Lincoln sold 652 Navigators last year in Canada. That’s about 0.03% of total vehicle sales in Canada. So basically very minor segment can afford vehicles like this. But same can be said of Escalades and Raptors that also go for over 100k.
We review all price ranges in cars... over the last six months, we've also reviewed: Mazda CX-3, Honda Fit, Toyota Camry, Subaru Forester, Honda Accord and the Toyota CH-R, among others.

best honest review from all the other ones I have seen
Glad to have you watching, Johny.

Lmaooooo
Great review sir :)
Very very informative
I would like to see the 1 year review,
My take on the rear entertainment is garbage.
From the back buttons, to put down the second row seats. The seats fold automatically and smash into the the monitors.

Great review on this vehicle... what did you think of the rear entertainment features?
A base Navigator is only $4k more than the Expedition Platinum and essentially the same car with different styling. If you want an Expedition that is much cheaper, you have to drop features.
WOW THATS A NICE CAR!
In regards to the rattle/bumping/cabin noise, 22 inch rims on a body on frame suv will cause that. Itd be interesting to see how base models perform with 19 or 20 inch wheels and thicker sidewall tires.
Yep, these big, blingy wheels often don't help with noise and ride comfort. I've found that in a lot of our top trim test vehicles lately.
Jake Stole
I wonder if the black label trim could be ordered with the smaller rims, for comforts' sake.
idk if you could order one with it, but the dealer could probably swap the rims once you get your car. Might hurt the resale value though, especially if you don't keep the stock 22s to put back on when it's time to sell
Which is bigger vs cada
Love your reviews!!! Please do a review on the newer Subaru ASAP ! ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Is there a ine with out long trunk
Hi Paul, any Kia Niros on deck for a review?

Happy to help, Havasu! Great to have you watching.
Is there not a heated steering wheel button on the wheel?
larry Spiller i know the reserve and black label trims have heated wheels, not sure the location. The select and premier do not.
Jake Stoler just would find it bizarre. Just like the amount of people complaining when Honda switched to touch screen volume adjustment. People were outraged by it but I was sitting there like... I use the steering wheel anyways and this is easier to clean so..

Jamie Sausser sometimes someone's age shows I guess
You have to activate it through the infotainment system
Lincoln is using the Navi as a flagship vehicle. I dont think they intend to sell many of these... not at 100k.
I understand that the Navigator has the same platform as the Expedition and this time Lincoln has done a great job to make each vehicle unique as it should because of the difference in price. where did you see a 25k Ford f-150 at? Seriesly?
I’ve yet to see a 25k new f150
It would be very interesting to see you compare the Navigator to the upcoming unibody Aviator when it's available.
mountainhobo is it unibody? I understood it was body on frame
Blake Swan unibody, RWD
Unibody but rear wheel drive.
Why no air suspension is beyond me
Shawn B for what? Air suspensions are pos they break all the time
Shawn B also it doesn’t work properly in cold climates
Shawn B reliability. They last at most 2 years
With the modern technology that goes into struts and shocks who needs a air suspension unless you want to raise and lower a vehicle which comes with the downfall of the reliability
I've replaced air struts or rear air bags 7 times in 100K miles on my MB GL. You don't want them.

There are really only a handful of options for the Navigator... nothing like BMW/MB where there are dozens of options.
The Expedition looks better imo. ...I'd rather have that.
Just put diesel engine easily gets 30MPG
Goco Family this would be an absolute perfect application for a diesel. The nvh though would not lend itself to luxury though. In the Expedition, absolutely
I believe they are getting the diesel in 2019. Hybrid by 2020 also.
SÜPER...
goodluck with that high output engine.

Find a Luxury SUV with cloth....LOL
Not Luxury vehicles so yes they have cloth options.
And that’s not the Navigator L. The L has a lot more space
Yep, we weren't testing the L but I just was pointing out the differences for people.
The leather in my 02 lx470 is more supple and REAL... 100k and American cars give you shit pleather, looks like plastic vinyl!
What you didn't bring Comox with you to Comox B.C.???? Un-subbing!
Stephen Bradley haha... we were in Invermere. And the place we rented didn't allow pooches.
Family Wheels I wouldn't go without my dog Hope unless they take her. Funny thats a Scottish town and ua Scottish love our furbabies.
You'll have to hire a maid to clean it
They really screwed up the rear windshield wiper. Why didn't they hide it under the spoiler like the GMC Yukon... So much fail. Still no Apple carplay? Cmon man...
it has apple car play. It is standard in every ford and lincoln line up who has sync 3 infotainment system .
It is too bad he didn't go into detail on it.
It also is integrated with siri without picking up the phone and has integration with Amazon Alexa with its Alexa/Lincoln App. He didn't do a very accurate or detailed review.
Another great review........but $100k is way high for that vehicle I am afraid...
Don Motz I checked it out at the car show. I think the price is justified. It’s nicer than expedition in my opinion. With employee discounts ford does in Canada every summer there will be discounts on these soon.

oh definately....all $100k vehicles are out of touch for most folks.....I hear ya.
Don Motz the value of something isn’t determined by what you think most people can afford, it is determined by supply and demand.
Oh and my 02 lx470 has air suspension... Buwahahaha
You should stop reviewing these ridiculously overpriced vehicles and put out some more practical content... "family wheels"
We review all price ranges in cars... over the last six months, we've also reviewed: Mazda CX-3, Honda Fit, Toyota Camry, Subaru Forester, Honda Accord and the Toyota CH-R, among others.
