Do you have a solution for this, my dv10 is making a high pitch sound, and I am not sure what to do. I recently opened my vacuum to replace the broken trigger switch, and since then it is not the same. I have cleaned the filter and made sure there is no blockage. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks
Check the main passage from where the wand fits into the vacuum. Shine a flashlight through the hole. If there is hardly any light coming through the top side hole you have a blockage. Also if there is moisture in the canister or sticky oils in any of the cyclone chambers it will cause pulsing. Next step is to remove the bin from the canister and give it a vigorous tap to see if there is particulate blockage of fine particles. Another thing you can do is shake the canister. If you here rattling. Chances are there's hair and dander clumped together in the chambers causing blockage. It may be time to carefully disassemble the canister and clean it. The issue with these is when you use it on pets constantly ( especially dogs) if they sweat or have dirty and sticky fur it can cause clogging issues.

@@transitcheck. Make sure you don't accidentally push the trigger while the bin is open. Because dirt or hair can bypass the larger openings and get caught in the cyclones or tangle in the impeller. The system has to be totally enclosed because of the central tier system that captures finer dirt particles, not course. I don't know why Dyson doesn't have a bin deactivate magnet if it's open like they did on the v7 when the bin was opened or not properly closed. That's the other issue. The V10 onward in the instructions tells you not to press the trigger while the bin is open.

Ugh... same! After I saw this video, I was then able to fool it with a pair of magnetised screwdrivers.
Thanks I used two magnetic screwdrivers. And I found out that the filter was blocking the airflow even though it looks clean. I'll give it a good wash and if that doesn't help maybe I can just buy a new one.
We vacuumed a little bit of flour once and it ruined the filter. Rather than buying a new one, I just cut the hepa filter lol. We don’t have pets and the internal metal filter works good enough. Just a few good stabs through the purple plastic did the trick.
Did washing the filter help? or if replaced the filter, can you share your results and link to purchase.
Washing the filter didn’t work for me. Although I just bought a new aftermarket battery and it came with a new filter. Works very good.

the slider mechanism on the bin doesn't work, I cannot open the bin to empty

The motor does come out the housing and the sponge behind the motor pulls out the housing just rinse under tap with fairy liquid leaving to dry then reassemble

Its great test, does that mean we can replace the filter and it should work? or is the issue the magnetics contact point on the current oem filters?
this is just a test to full the Dyson, it doesn't mean anything other then to test that it is working properly
