For the custom road weirdness, you can use the move it mod to manipulate each one by stretching them out a bit, then use traffic to ban the lane changes. If you don't stretch them, traffic can't grab them. I like the new interchange. I rarely manage to leave enough room for adding highways and transit back in older areas even though I start every new city by saying that I WILL leave space! Lol
You can safely build trams on the new highway. You have plenty of examples of tram networks in Europe going through suburbia or connecting cities. Take s look at coastal tram in Belgium. Also, trams are not slow. They can reach 80 km/h
those artifacts on the buslane might be able to be cleaned up with lane editor deleting the wrong connections. I get similar artifacts on custom road builder railroads.
The terraced freeway at the end immediately made me think of QC-136 next to Westmount as it approaches Montréal's downtown area, as well as I-5 south of downtown Seattle.
Hello timeister I think some signature buildings can stand alone like larger buildings for more aesthetics in the city. So it won’t just be a flat piece of residential area. Also don’t forget auburn
In American Downtowns they have many parking lots considering America is car centric and the taller skyscrapers usually have plazas in front of them. Also it’s time to expand the city beyond a city scape and into miles and miles of suburban subdivisions lined with shopping centers and parking lots haha
I think he is taking more of a manhattan approach when it comes to the downtown, but i think that is ok, since having a downtown like Houston which is just a ocean of parking lots with the occasional building is really about as ugly as a downtown can get. But i agree on the suburb part
maybe the intersections come from the fact that you didn't use a one way highway but a two way four lane highway. try a one way two lame highway and build the road from that and see if it works.
I love this series by the way if you ever build any more universities you could add a couple of tall buildings to look like dorms because many universities in the US have such building on campus
Let's have some elevated/at-ground level subway running into the industrial/suburb which is clearly done as it was a campaign promise of a local politician that surprisingly got elected and he had to do that promise even tho he didnt want to.
With a little more thought the new tower and it's surrounding area could be really epic. maybe you don't have a lot of gaming time to finesse the tools more and really refine the build and that's okay. real cities are usually not perfect either :)

I think you should try transport fever 2, it is similar but all about transportation looking at the fact you are pretty good at railway, subways etc. you would enjoy it.
with the mod wich name i forgot but you have it installed, its the one on the left of the roadbuilder mod , you could have goten rid of the little intersections
if you remove a building,whatever the buiding is ,all this people will going on the street ,most people forget this . some going to home,others go shopping ,or others looking for a new home if they find it.if you remove multi buildings ,they go all on the street.
