Should redo the test with 3 of the same vehicles
Yep maybe... was just a bit of fun though really.
exactly what i was thinking 😂
@@tyreseeker not an excuse

I believe that a 4wd RAV4 on winter tyres would still be a winner. Maybe even on all season tyres thanks to awd.
CrossClimate2 vs BLIZZAK LM005, first time I have seen anyone done this test and the CrossClimate2 was only about one second behind a dedicated winter tire, WoW! Thanks.
Hey George - thanks for your comment :) Glad you enjoyed it :)
Result makes total sense? Especially considering the fact that the only 4wd also has studded tires.
Yep totally fair comment - the RAV4 totally outclassed the others on the snow with the studs, however it was the 2wd model, so no advantage there!
@@tyreseeker But its said in video "all wheel drive RAV4", so is it 2wd or 4wd??
But even if awd Toyota hybrids has very little power going to the rear axle in their hybrid awd, fwd with good tyres is all you need
@@toninocars YES! THIS!
According to the video an AWD Toyota with studded tires beats a RWD BMW with winter tires? I can’t even try to take this serious. I’m sorry.
I have General Grabber ATX with studs and there's no tests/comparisons for truck/suv tires. I'd also love to see a faceoff for all studded tires vs all non-studded. Why are there no Hakkapeliitta vs Blizzak tests?
I wonder the same thing. I just ordered some Nokian LT3s to replace my K02s for the winter and I’ve been trying to find a comparison between studded tires and none exist
Would love someone to do one of these on slush and maybe on some hills. This is interesting, but that powdery snow on a flat road isn't usually the issue. It's the day after it snows, with the slush on top of some ice plus an incline that really makes winter driving dicey.
I’m confused why not do a all wheel driver snow tires vs 2wd studded snow tires? Or even all season 4wd vs 2wd winter snow/stud tires.
At almost 13% heavier, the BMW 530d M Sport (1725Kg) with the CrossClimate2 is not far behind the BMW 320i (1529Kg) fitted with one of most iconic Nordic studdles Blizzak winter tire. I wonder how little difference it would be if same vehicle is used for the test!
Yep - this one was just a bit of fun, best not to analyse too closely ;)
I run Artic Claw wxi Studded 265/75/16 on my 4×4 Tacoma excellent everyday winter Maine tires. If I wanted to go even better General Grabbers Studded (but too heavy & hard on suspension & less mpg) Studded tires if in the snow belts are a no-brainer
To me a suv awd plus studd tires 👍
Ridiculously AWD biased test. Why would they only test ONE vehicle with AWD??? For a fair tire comparison, the drive system should be identical for all three vehicles. Am I missing something?
It was all a bit of fun at the end of a day filming we just had the cars there and put this out for fun :)
Rear drive on the BMW's?
New Rav4's being 4x4 is news to me, I thought they were AWD.
I think we all know the difference the tyres make on snow, but to stick a 4x4 in there against the 2wd bmws is a bit pointless. If you wanted to showcase the tyre why not get another bmw to put the studded ones on?
It was all a bit of fun at the end of a day filming we just had the cars there and put this out for fun :)
The Rav4 is hardly a 4x4, if anything it's at a disadvantage being fwd, while the beemers get more torque because of weight transfer to the back
And even the awd version has a puny electric engine at the rear, still mostly fwd
@@LeoMkII well. They said it was all wheel drive, and it clearly is from the video. So there
Yeah the cars going by on the road got studded and everyone here in the north runs studded there is no question about it
In defense of the video, the awd rav 4 is barely a 4wd vehicle, with just a puny little electric engine at the back, being very much fwd bias
Unsurprising the car with the most driven wheels AND the grippiest tyres won. I'm confused as to why all the vehicles AND tyres were different as doesn't prove anything in itself.
You know it''s not about make of tyre vs make of tyre, so why say it? Misleading for those who don't understand.
Go back to high school and learn the scientific method of constants and variables and also pay extra attention to confounding variable. 🤡
Isn't it a bit obvious putting a 4x4 with studs against 2 sports cars without really cmon....
Verschiedene Reifengrößen und Fahrzeuge und Antriebskonzepte machen den Test irrrelevant.
Sorry don't speak German, but guessing from last word you weren't impressed - the vid is a bit of fun - don't get too out of shape about it :D
This race is like a race between a rabbit, a fish and a monkey.. whoever can climb the tree first wins..! It doesn't make sense..
Always tell people who complain about sliding on ICE to buy studded tires. Many have this idea that they are illegal in many cities which they are not.
I swear by RAV4, studded or not they just don't care the terrain they go
the 4x4 will help alot
Is anyone suprised at these results
What a stupid and useless test.
Comparing a RWD with a AWD.
LOL wouldn't get all upset about it... it was just a fun test at the end of a days shooting. Thanks for commenting though :D
Rav is al wheel drive so thats not fair
useless test, awd vs rwd
I have a jeep 4x4. End of story .
Poor test. At least use comparable vehicles
all wheel drive vs two lol
A bmw ....
