Top 20 dance performance videos I've seen. Wouldn't have worked as a stage, but incredible performances from the dance team. Excellent costuming as well. Greatly enhanced the fluid nature of the performer's relationship! The locations were great, the composition of the shots was great, the b roll incuts were... heavy handed, to be nice~ Also: The song itself, pulled away from the entire experience, was really quite lovely. The way it kind of (to me) seemed to sigh in an out of it's rolling hills moments, and had those dramatic kicks during the climbs and the cliffs. The bursts of expression from one section smoothed and calmed by other instrumentation, thoroughly and exquisitely enjoyable. Also Also: This is the kind of thing I wished got more exposure, but ah well.. Makes me wanna show it to my friends, only to see them loose interest after 90 seconds~ Thanks @jackadiah for the recomend~
Great video! As a longtime Alcest fan, I would love to see you react to "L'envol", also from their latest album. It feels like a crystallization of everything they are about so should serve as a great second track!
I really liked this. I also feel extremely old and stupid realizing I have six years of french study somewhere in my brain and have retained exactly none of it.
The romantic/martial arts-type dancing is on point and very French. I’m getting echoes of Big Country, with a whiff of Bryan Adams guitar on the palate, and a lingering finish of “Book of Kells” by Iona…
YES! I missed this stream and it was great, hopefully not because I didn't contribute? This was an unexpected Jackadiah pick & what a great choice of natural environment stages to drop the 'medium of interpretive modern dance'rs into. I'll go discover more of this band for myself but thank you greatly for this showcase.
I'mma watch it again to be sure, but the locations (as you mentioned) were exemplary, and did a ton of heavy lifting in showing a longer time frame to the conflicts on display. Seeing the dance team performing in location after location after location in rapid succession really hit home with me. "They're doing the same things to each other.. time and time again." Really makes the intertwined celebration at the end work SO WELL!
