    !!!!THIS SHOULD HELP!!!! I started suffering from these when I was about nineteen, I'm turning 40 soon and I have studied these myself since then..I've paid as much attention as possible to my body when I got these attacks..I am no scientist but I pinpointed where the pain is coming from and it's exactly where the pain starts when you get a brain freeze..I stumbled upon this accidentally, noticing the pain drinking a freezy and I thought I was getting a cluster migraine. Now I know this might sound crazy but when you notice the migraine coming on give yourself a brain freeze.. I'm serious, as much as possible.. you will be amazed. It has stopped the pain and the attack.. I tried this because I tried everything possible. Everything we do is basically only on the outside, cold compress, hot compress, it helps but doesn't work because the pain is on the inside ya know?? I've been oxygen yes it "might" help, microdosing with mushrooms did "only subside" my pain, but all that just for a headache can't be good for you if you continuously do it.. the brain freeze stopped it in it's tracks..don't know what it is about it,but I seriously think doctors need to look into this. ✌️🍀 Please let me know if it helped you and tell your doctor if it does. We need a way to stop this pain guys..I know what you're going through🍀✌️

      I've noticed this! Drinking a really cold drink from the fridge to cause brain freeze helps with the pain. I've not found it helped to stop it completely but never tried at the very start of the attack.

    My CH were misdiagnosed as a inner ear infection, so I was given a round of antibiotics. I was finally able to see a neurologist and they immediately said it was CH. Eventually I was assigned a neurologist who was wonderful. She kept up with all the research and more importantly, treatments. We settled on high flow oxygen by mask. It meant I had to have 02 tanks at home and at work, but as soon as I got the "shadows", I went straight to the 02 and usually within 15 minutes, the attack was aborted.
    My neuro? She's now the chief of neurology and still calls me once a year to see how I am doing. Haven't had an attack in 20 years, but she still calls.

    I went almost my whole life without a proper diagnosis and I first experienced them at a very young Age in elementary school the pain was so bad I wouldn’t talk and I would hit my head hoping it went away. I saw my first neurologist and even they missed it. Years later while I was serving in the military I got them again that same familiar pain and I was sent to the doctor. The doctor actually put me on morphine and I was sent to my room but i finally had an appointment with a neurologist. I had experienced them everyday for 4 months and when I talked to the neurologist she did a physical and then began to ask questions. She then told me I have cluster headaches and wrote me a profile. I’ll never forget how greatful I was to have a doctor officially diagnose me correctly because I finally had medication that helped me. I was 19-20 when she diagnosed me I’m 24 and studying to be a nurse. I hope I can help and show as much quality care as that neurologist showed me.

No one know how to differentiate from migraine , sinusitis or this cluster type .i think specific symptoms durability severity scale by means drs can diagnose exactly. Excellent treatment protocol and preventive tips ....causes too. Yes dr andrea there are nausea and yawning with one sided throbbing headache in migraine where as in cluster type its present with different symptoms .good stuff .we all get educated about what is it ...amazing ...dr

    I havent had them in a year or so. They were always behind my left eye. Something that really helped me, was sitting down in the tub with the shower nozzle hot as i can handle it, pointed at my eye/head. It just gave my head/face another sensation to focus on, in a way that never worked for me with cold compress or heating pads. It never stopped the pain, but it made it infinitely easier to deal with.

    Please read!
    I found an optometrist in Germany who claims that cluster headache in many cases has to do with a minimal vertical heterophoria of your eyes. One of your eyes always has to adapt to this disbalance and as a result your muscles and sinews behind that eye are very stressed and cause that pain finally. I think that is a very reasonable explanation.
    So if you don`t believe it try to mask the painful eye at least for two days straight with an eyepatch. Some of you could probably experience pain relief.
    Unfortunately this is a very unpopular opinion. So maybe try the mask experiment and write in the comments how it worked for you.
    If you do bette with an eyepatch you could probably get help with the right prismeyeglasses.
    Best of luck🙂

      Hot shower is the only thing that works for me!! If I catch it quickly plan Walmart nasal spray works too but it has to be at the very beginning of the episode before the pain starts like when I notice my eye beginning to start watering. Hit the spray and it will stop it in its tracks 70% of the time.

    Honestly I’ve tried most over-the-shelf painkillers. The only thing that helped was Ibuprofen 800 (or 2x400). I’ve been told it’s not safe to use it more than a week, but I sometimes take it for up to 3 weeks when I’m having a cluster headache episode. My mother also has cluster headaches and she tried Ibuprofen 800 and didn’t seem to work for her. She takes Catafast (Diclofenac potassium powder) ok her episodes and seems to work for her; not me though. So my advice is to try different varieties of pain killers and see which one suits your body. I know it’s tortures, but please don’t take different ones at the same time. Bad news is this disorder is chronic and will be with your for the rest of your life. And the older you get, the shorter the time will be between episodes. And drink tons on water when you’re doing painkillers as they can potentially harm your kidneys; so water can help minimize the risk. You just have to be patient and try one different painkiller per day until you find the one for you.

    • @MSM4U2POM
      @MSM4U2POM 8 місяців тому

      From what I understand painkillers of any kind are useless for cluster headaches. Either they do not work quickly enough, or the condition does not respond to them. Morphine, for instance, has no effect. The only way you can stop a cluster headache by using abortives (drugs that disrupt the mechanism that causes them), not by treating the symptoms.
      Triptans such as Sumatriptan can be effective, but how quickly they work depends on how they are administered. Injection gives the fastest results, but the most common method is by nasal spray. You still have to suffer for about seven or eight minutes, but when the drug does kick in, the pain vanishes more or less instantaneously - just like a light going out. If you can get hold of some, do try it. I cannot guarantee it will work, but if it does your life will become far more bearable. Very best of luck.

      @@titan5695 You will know its a cluster headache when ur left eye starts to burn behind and infront, and/or you will feel a heavy brain feeze on the left side of the brain with a damn lot of pressure on it for longer than 10 minutes to 3 hours and more than once a day.
      The feeling of the burn behind the eye on just 1 side is a good indicator that it might be a cluster attack, if not i would say its something different.

    can a person have more than 1 type of headache....usually at different times. I had migraines in my mid 20'sthat were migraine with auras. Now migraine w/o aura but affected by sound. Nothing works now ,where feverfew used to help. But now at times the cluster headache type are on the right side behind the eye. . This is the side of my crps. The typical symptoms for cluster headache remain . I'm not on any of the medications that would cause them and do not drink alcohol. My primary dr has not prescribed anything ,but says lets wait and see since they are new to me. The next thing that has been suggested is for me to try ketamine due to the crps. Would ketamine also control the various types of headache, migraine and cluster headaches? Or would these headaches still need to be treated separately? So many questions....Thank you for any guidance you can offer.

If i clean my right nose out and push my right eye in with my palm and breath through my nose it goes away then comes back later on. Its painful. Is this cluster headache?

    Bring a few of ice cubes, cover it with a sofe peace of cloth or tissue, and slowly massage the headache area from above the eye to the back of the head. Take magnesium supplements and vitamin B complex and donate blood every 3 months. This is advice from someone who has suffered from cluster headache attacks for more than 20 years. Good luck

    I can tell you they are excruciating and peculiar. They'll occur at the same time of day sometimes for days in a row, maybe longer. They'll come on fast and hit like a freight train, like a hot poker searing the inside of your brain from your eye to about your ear on one side of your head. Your eye may droop and water. Your nose may run. You may begin to rock back and forth and hit your head on something, maybe as a natural reaction to disrupt the feeling if only for a second. You might groan and moan and hit things. Sometimes it's hard to be still; it feels like you have to move and have to rock back and forth. It's very intense and very painful. I've used oxygen for the last couple clusters I've had, and I think it works to get the headache to go away more quickly. Not much else seemed to for me, but I may not have tried as many treatments as others. I get the clusters about once every 2 years, and I just started one last night - had a precursor headache around midnight that woke me up and then another a couple hours later that was more like a normal cluster headache. If you suffer from them, don't give up. I know terrible thoughts may enter your mind when you're having one, but remember, it won't last forever, and yes, you are stronger. Hang in there. Be tough. Love you guys.

    ..i suffered every day..every day sometimes 2 times per day...from 1999 until 2014..i'm paraplegic because of it..i toke everything, triptane as well..but cortisone (Lepicortinolo) 2x20mg everytime i was in crisis.. ..i just don't killed myself because i could not even reach wndow....i was in hospital for being studied... And then, in 2014, already after being paraplegic, a doctor, prescribed me " Lyrica"..was a miracle!..i take the generic version now ( Pregabaline ). I take one pill of 75mg in the morning, and 1 at sleep... ..If you who reads this, are one who like me suffered, and tried everything, then try Lyrica or generic of it..

      I ask cause I've been diagnosed and have had Cluster Headaches going on 13 years now, from my experience thus far medication does nothing for me, I'm in the process of having both wisdom teeth on my lower jaw removed, the difficult part of my procedure is that the teeth are crossing my Lingual nerve.

    • @mainabauza58
      @mainabauza58 Рік тому

      How do you know if you have a headache from your teeth?
      Pain that radiates throughout the face can be hard to diagnosis. Some key signs that indicate a dental problem may be causing the headache are: feeling pain behind the eyes, experiencing a sore jaw, and ongoing popping of jaw joints.

    This isn’t accurate. On an empty stomach when you feel it coming on, Sumatriptan pills 100mg works for me in about 20 minutes most of the time before I feel any significant pain. It’s on a full stomach that it becomes more difficult as it can take 40 minutes or longer to work or when you wake up at night and it’s already significantly painful. In that case it even on an empty stomach it’s painful for 20-30 minutes so it’s better to have some kind of injector

  • @chrislerintravel7138
    @chrislerintravel7138 6 місяців тому

    Two things that shorten the attacks and have helped me IMMENSELY!
    1. Find a doctor that can prescribe 100% oxygen therapy. This works wonders! (I can’t do oxygen therapy because it hurts my lungs) so I have switched to option 2.
    2. Shadow boxing at high intensity takes the headaches away within 10 minutes or less. You have to push yourself to sweat though. I pretend like the cluster has a face and I’m punching the shit out of it! Not the easiest thing to do during a cluster but I promise it helps A LOT!

    • @dmsproduction313

      I used to punch my bed and wall to fight the pain. Once i get tired I would fall asleep. Finally went back to Nepal and it was a bit easier process to get the oxygen. Had to suffer more than a week in Australia.
