I still can’t believe how many people who like musicals but have never heard of rent. Then again I am a bit obsessed with musicals, I must admit! My kids were forced to endure every theatre show going as kids! The agony🤪
I was lucky enough to see the original uk production of rent when my kids were little which was fab, which daughter hasn’t forgiven me for as it is became her fave musical growing up and it is still the one show she hasn’t had the chance to see yet! In my defence, I couldn’t have predicted that one!
To be honest , I’m, not sure , when we will next mange to go to see a show, with covid, disability and cost of living, everything seems to be against us at the moment.
It’s only been a few years stuck in, things will improve soon, what is it Dorothy says about tapping and wishing, and a hoping? Or is that someone else🤭
We will manage it somehow,
I think it’s great that Idina has finally gotten the recognition she deserves, especially after hearing how it sounded as though she had a rough start
Would be great if she did a Disney or Broadway album. Maybe a movie musical with her as the lead

I'm the theatre nerd who made an entire power point presentation on Idina Menzel for a school project way back in 2010. I can't believe she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. so pumped for this!

I’m so glad she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves. What a beautiful way to celebrate her life and her brilliant career! I’ve been a fan since the start, and it’s been truly amazing watching her rise.
I have so much respect for her as a person. Unlike most celebrities, she never compromised herself. She is one of the realest celebrities out there who is honest about who she is and inspires people in the process. Her music has helped me through so many rough times, and brought me joy when I needed it most. Can’t wait to see this ❤️
I know what you mean. When Frozen came out nine years ago, my Grandma from my moms side died from leukemia at age 90. I was already depressed before she said goodbye. So a story of family was what I needed.

@@_wickedlyqueer And I can relate to Elsa because I have autism I’m not afraid to tell anyone. I do like to distance myself sometimes but I’m more of an ambivert or so I have been told. I was so hyped to see Frozen when I found out Idina was going to do it. The first cast album I’ve ever heard from first notes to finale was Wicked of course. I was almost 21 so to me it felt symbolic seeing a princess becoming a queen without a groom. I’m still young and single nine years later. But sadly because of how overblown Frozen has been promoted, the feeling of needing it for something quickly faded as winter turned to spring. I only saw Frozen one time I like to keep it that way. When I finally saw Wicked in 2007, it was Eden Espinosa aka Cassandra who played Elphie. But an equally beautiful singer

I first seen Idina Menzel as Maureen in RENT, then Elphaba in Wicked, and followed her career since. I’ve sung songs of her characters in auditions for off-broadway shows, and I have words she’s sung tattooed on me. To see our daughter completely in love with Elsa is just full circle for me. She is amazing and I can’t wait to see this movie!
I’ve been a fan of Idina a little while before Frozen. Thanks to the Wicked OBC recording and Enchanted. Last year I discovered her guest role on Glee. So surreal she and Jonathan Groff were student and teacher before becoming future sibling in laws. I mean Elsa and Kristoff. She has got to do a Disney album
WOW!!!! Cannot wait to watch this. Being a Fanzel for over 20 years, this is such a moving story to see how all the pieces of what we want in life come together. I've been lucky to have both seen & met Idina Menzel various times. However, being there for that legendary night as she made her dream come true at Madison Square Garden was seriously the greatest performance of a lifetime. Magical!! This was all filmed in 2018 while she was on tour with Josh Groban on his BRIDGES Tour. She was living her best life out on that stage and being to share who she is a person. Something as a performer that I continue to learn from..... discovering my own authenticity and learning to be more myself.

I’ve been in love with her since I was 12. I, embarrassingly, would listen to her CD front to back and fantasize that she was my mom 😅 it’s wonderful to seen how she has grown as an artist and to see her get the recognition she deserves!

So, Disney+, I've been LOVING "The Mysterious Benedict Society", "Percy Jackson And The Olympians" looks awesome, and I'm really hyped for "The Spiderwick Chronicles". I'd really like to see you guys adapt more book series into shows, such as "The Bailey School Kids", "The Magic Treehouse", and "The Secrets Of Drune".

Idina Menzel was my inspiration for loving Broadway musicals. I watched her Defying Gravity Tony Award performance on UA-cam when I was elementary school age and fell in love with Broadway ever since then. I was so thankful to watch her on tour years ago, and I am so happy that this documentary is coming out about legit my idol! Yay, so excited!
I was in 4th grade when she was on Bway in Wicked and a while afterwards I was in 6th or 7th grade when I saw that performance on UA-cam. Wicked was my first cast album too

I'm really chuffed that she's finally getting the recognition she deserves. Rent is one of my all-time favorite musicals and the way she put her all into singing Show Yourself in Frozen II still gives me chills whenever I hear it. This documentary is going to be another great way to put her on the map!

Congratulations, Idina! Back in 2001 or so, I auditioned for the very first production of Wicked. I wasn't offered the role and soon after I left NYC, but I have been watching her remarkable achievement in the industry!

My family has been fans of Idina ever since her role in that “little off-Broadway show” which premiered FOUR YEARS before I was born.
Safe to assume that we’ll be watching this.

The documentary directed by Anne McCabe looks amazing, the staging of the performances look stellar, the archive footage shows this woman’s highs and lows of her career, and it’s a honest look into an artist’s rise to success
You gotta take the highs and lows of life, sometimes you have to start over, making music that’ll give an experience to others not just yourself is important, stop making yourself feel smaller so others can feel satisfied, there’s a ferocity or power inside all of us we need to let out even if others see it as too much, versatility is risky at times
Idina Menzel wants to be honest and real as possible making a connection and this tour has taught her to discover about herself
Like her we all have our doubts, anxieties and fears even with fame
This documentary has a level of intimacy and genuineness that’s rarely seen and that has to be appreciated
I’m so incredibly proud of her, this icon has shown us what it truly means to live your passion and never give up. ❤
