Lowell is amazing at floral works! I find that all of the instructors for Alexander Art go more into the technique and how to do the motions of the painting rather than the details of the painting, like in a Bob Ross video.
Alexander Art seems to give you more of the "how", rather than mor of the "what"

I find that too! Canvass prep has been the difference between a painting going well and being a little frustrating haha still not good at getting it ready

I have really struggled for several years with florals. I've tried following other instructors and I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Hopefully this instructor will help me.

It is not alla prima painting. I am curious is it oil painting? You should tell people the first part of this painting must be dry and then you paint the flower otherwise the coulors will be mixted.
It is oil painting. And yes he is doing alla prima aka wet into wet.
