Out of the other begonia care videos I've watched, I loved yours the best! Especially since you focused a bit more on indoor environments. Definitely appreciate the clay bead humidity hack! Andrea was sweetly funny with her cuckoo-for-coco puffs vibe!
Thank you Michael and Andrea. I love this beautiful plant and would like to buy one. As always, I wonder what it cost? Also, I loved seeing Andrea’s terrific furnishings. Nosy me wanted to see more!
Love it! Haven't ventured outside the Rex Begonias as I haven't, to date, got the care down. Seems like I just get a stump left as all leaves eventually leave after 6 months, lol. Beautiful plant though.
Hi, thank you for the comment. Sorry your begonias are not holding up. Sometimes plants struggle growing indoors. Maybe shock acclimating does them in. Bu t I hope your next plants do well!😀🪴
Ihave mine in a self watering pot, that I top up the resevisor every 5-7 days also making sure the soil hasn't dried out. I'v had it for about 4 months and it has already more than doubled in size. This is even during a Minnesota winter in an East facing window with out fertilizing at all yet.
I just bought a begonia maculata. It is about 2 inches big. I am so afraid of not taking good care of it. I bought mine online from Etsy. I don't know if I should plant it outside or keep it in a pot inside. Where did she get that lovely Maculata?
I believe we picked it up at Casa Planta. I'm sure you will take great care of your beautiful polka. placing her in a covered patio will be great, or inside. Just follow the care instructions and she will do fine! 😀🪴
Hi! The polka dot will like a loamy soil mix- we like the MiracleGro indoor potting mix but you can super charge the soil mix further by using this soil mix blend: 80% MiracleGro indoor potting mix + 10% worm castings + 10% perlite. Mix together and plant up your polka. Important- Make sure not to plunge you plant too deep into new soil. New soil level should match old. On LECA pebble tray you can get a plastic drain saucer 3x larger than your pot and add a 1" layer of LECA. This saucer will now be both your drainage overflow and LECA pebbles will act as a sponge absorbing the excess water, and then off gassing the water vapor over time building up humidity around your polka. Hope this helps.😀🪴
Wow! I suggest submitting your polka dot to Guiness for a world record! Haha. Your begonia is huge! To control her size, You can try propagating through cuttings from some of her stems. 😀🪴

Begonia Mac cost $9 wholesale. So probably $18- 20 retail, not that common so a little pricey. 😀🪴
Dang I just paid 48 dollars for mine 😮
Cool plant!! Thanks for sharing
Anytime, glad you liked it.😀🪴
Such good timing. I just received mine a week ago in the mail (2nd plant I've ordered because I could never find one) and hoping it grows.
Thats awesome! Hope your plant(s) are enjoying their new home.😀🪴

Hello Michael. Could you list the materials you used for the soil addition and the clay beads please?

My Polka Dot Begonia is six feet tall. I don't know what to do next. It's all most to the ceiling in its pot.
