if you add a block on your face frame, the hinge will be better supported and won't tear out. I used a bunch of toothpicks, or skewers do the same thing in the past. Great tip.
I‘ve heard of using toothpicks if a screw is a little loose. I had to fix a dresser door recently and all I had was the 1/4“ dowel and it worked so great that I didn‘t even give it a second thought for the door in the video. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
My wooden silverware draw and junk draw are really hard to pull open is there a way they can open easier, can I shave the wood a little or something? They are from 1958 below the built in cutting board in the kitchen.
Are the drawer slides wooden? If so, take the drawer out and wipe down the wooden slide parts with paste wax. Also wipe any parts that contact the drawer slides inside the cabinet. The wax should make them slide a lot easier. You can get paste wax from Lowes or Home Depot. Or, in a pinch use an old candle you have sitting around.
@@ChrisMcDowellDIY thanks I will try this. I have a chunk of embroidery thread wax but I might get the wax paste from Amazon. I’m a crafter so I should be able to do this and yes the draws are all wood. The owner of the duplex lives right behind me, she can help if needed. I can barely open them this should help and thanks for responding. I’m excited to fix this!
thumbs up
Good idea.
