I made this as a surprise for my boyfriend and his friends. They ate the whole thing and absolutely loved it. My boyfriend has always loved my cooking skills, but after I made this cake, he kept looking at me and showing affection with love in his eyes for the rest of the night. I guess the quote "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" isn't something that's made up after all! Thank you for a great tutorial. I am ABSOLUTELY making this cake again in the future!
Camilla Berentsen ur absolutely right that a way to a man's heart is thtough his stomach cuz same here wid me i had also made dis for my fionse and he was like he was d luckiest prson to hv me with him whn he tasted it
no matter how many years go by i still can’t help myself making this besides simple, delectable recipe. It’s so easy and fun to make and it always tastes amazing 😊
IM SO HAPPY THIS WORKS!! after reading so much people saying the filling was too runny and that they couldnt make it happen i felt pressure and got insecure about it but then i realise... if you JUST FOLLOW THE RECIPE YOU CAN DO IT!! If yours worked please comment... I felt like it was too much people saying it didnt work so i almost quit on it... HEY YOU, DONT QUIT! This is awesome!!! Just make sure you get the right ingredients!
Maely Soares I am glad Maely it turned good for you too, you are right.. they just need to follow the recipe and do exactly as mentioned in directions. It's hard to go wrong with it:)
@ Emina Zukic I used Bittersweet (dark) chocolate because it helps the chocolate ganache set better. If only milk chocolate is used you might need to use more to set well, like 350-400 g of milk chocolate. If only milk chocolate is used might be too sweet. You can definitely use Nutella instead, I would say 200g Nutella and 150g- 160 g heavy (whipping) cream. Either Mascarpone or Philadelphia cheese would work well. 8 oz of cream cheese will be more than enough. Melt the chocolate with a bit of butter over bain marie, add to cheese and pour it over the tart shell.
Home Cooking Adventure I made this last night. It's still runny. I'm seeing your post now about using bittersweet (dark) chococlate...which slightly confuses me because bittersweet and semi sweet chocolate are not specifically dark chocolate.....but are near the same thing and only their sugar content defines their difference...as well as if they had no sugar at all, would then be unsweetened chocolate. I'm wondering if mine isn't setting because of I used semi sweet and milk? Also, I thought heavy cream was table cream (18%)...didn't know it was whipping cream (which I think is 35%)....this could also be a factor in the it having not set yet. In the future, it would be awesome if these small things were mentioned in the video recipe OR...something is mentioned in the video recipe to check the ingredient listings in the comments. I'm rather disappointed.
Barbi Baylis I am sorry this didn't work out for you. I add the ingredients and directions to each video recipe in the description below the video, just need to click on Show More. There is also a link to the full recipe on my blog. I really don't know how could have I made this more clear.. there is already recipe description and video for you to see all the process. I mentioned for the bittersweet chocolate that any between 55%-70% cocoa would work well, so I think it's quite clear. As for heavy cream, it is actually whipping cream with more fat content. Whipping cream is between 30-35% fat while heavy cream is around 35-40% fat. I used a 35%-36% fat cream. The word "heavy" no matter how you take it doesn't sound like "light".. so I really don't know why you thought a 18% cream is heavy. Hope you will try it one more time with the right ingredients.. and see how delicious and quick this is.
Home Cooking Adventure Hmm, I used the exact ingredients in the recipe. I.e. 40% fat cream and 55% bittersweet chocolate. Still hasn't set after 4 hours though. Dunno why, any ideas? I don't think the set time should be anything less than overnight., 'cause 2+ hours just doesn't seem to be enough.
Omg, my mother use to make this every part/friends get together we had!! I loved this as a kid and I still do I am so glad I finally found this after years and after endless searching!! This is my fav dessert and I am making this today for my little sister to try it ❤️ this brings back so many memories ❤️❤️❤️
Such lovely editing!!!! The way that your videos are put together is incredibly addicting to watch and the recipes are so fun and simple. Makes me think that I, a totally inexperienced baker, can also elaborate such beautiful desserts. Please keep making wonderful videos like this :)
Nice idea. I'd easily adapt this to a healthy Vegan recipe. For sure not store bought cookies. The base would be dates and nuts (the pistachios could be used in the raw, vegan crust) and cacao powder in a food processor. Maybe some mulberries. I'd substitute coconut mylk or coconut cream for the cream and coconut oil for the butter. You can use Vegan chocolate chips or just mix cacao powder and maple syrup into coconut oil or avocado depending on the consistency you want. And there you are.
Instead of using bittersweet chocolate and normal cream, I used bitter chocolate and sweetened cream. It was delicious. It's so easy and fast to make, but so impressive. Also, I put salted pistachios on top (since I didn't have anything else) and the slight saltiness was really delicious, it really gave an amazing flavor. Thanks a lot for the recipe!
I made this for my dad for his birthday (he's a huge chocolate addict :P) and he asked to make it again for his birthday, so I guess your tart substitutes birthdaycake now.
Oh my, this looks YUMMY! I was going to make a friend of mine some dinner later on in her pregnancy and I think I will toss this along with the meal for dessert, but I think I will use chopped up Ande's mints instead of chopped nuts :)
I would like to say a big thank you for this simple tutorial . For the first time I made a lovely dessert by myself . Again and again , thank you very much . Love from Malaysia ☺️ .
I made this and my hubby totally loved it and so did my neighbour, family and friends. Totally sinful dessert but oh so good. I added blueberries that helped to cut the sweetness.
About the last time, I'm just following your recipes and I pleased a lot especially my husband, now here's the cake cools in the fridge and can not wait to try it. Greetings from Serbia...

Not sure if you realize but someone is sharing your full video as their own on Facebook. They've credited you but they shared the entire video as if it was their own intellectual property. I'm not sure if you might have a contract or relationship with Tastemade but I thought you might want to know in case you didn't give outright permission. This recipe looks delicious! Chocolates and strawberries are my favorite pairing! Yum!!! Love the video editing too. Very pretty. Here's the link: facebook.com/video.php?v=826359707451198
The poster shared the video on Facebook and the originator was credited. They did not claim to be the creator. I subscribed because of that Facebook post.
True, but usually it is customary to share only a portion of the video or content. That would be like someone going to a blog, copying it in its entirety without permission, and giving the author credit, all while stealing their traffic. People who do UA-cam as their job make a living off of their ad revenue. By using someone's video in full, it takes away ad revenue more than it helps the OP. This video does not show any indication of giving permission via Creative Commons, so it is the intellectual property of "Home Cooking Adventure" and shouldn't be copied in its entirety. It would be one thing if they shared a photo of it with a link to her blog or this video, or even a clip and a link, but they shared the entire video, then acted like it wasn't the entire video by listing "full video " under it on Facebook. It's still the intellectual property of "Home Cooking Adventure," so if they used it with permission, it should be indicated, but it's not.
Kindred Closets Thank you for your concern, and for letting me know. In this case we are Tastemade partners, and we allowed them sharing and promoting all our video content. So everything it's just fine. But it did happen not too long ago, that someone actually stole one of our videos, cut our logo and put their own, didn't give credit and they built traffic for their page with our video . Someone was kind to let us know, and we could took action.
Yes! I've seen other people do similar things, so if I see it, I always tell them. You never know when it is or isn't done legally. Usually they say "used with permission" if it is. It sucks that someone stole your video before and changed out the logo. That's just crazy! I'm glad to hear it's okay this time!
We made this taste for New Years this year, only with raspberries on top, and it was freaking amazing! THANK YOU. We will try a lot of your other recipes in the course of this year. Thank you and happy new year :)

***** So, essentially, something completely different.
***** Yes, you can try a similar look for a vegan chocolate tart, I am sure it will be tasty.
