everyone who comes from L.A has a bunch of crazy fun stories im from south L.A i can relate. grew up around gangs and taggers kicking it in the park smoking weed all deep tagging drinking 40z fighting getting expelled from school hanging out with the homies day and night. now that im older and i moved out from L.A my mind set changed and now i think more mature and left all that behind but it was fun while it lasted. no regrets
Thats whats up Erick, goes to show it is necessary to move out of environment to grow beyond. Ive met good ppl in ELA but there is still some narrow or ignorant opinions when they debate certain topics. It isnt their fault, its just that no one in their life did better than them to tell them to visit other states or countries to gather a different perspective how unlimited life potential can truly be. Not only seeing other places but meeting other people from other backgrounds. No matter where you go, your intellect or smarts will get you to be noticed or respected regardless of how you look or feel about yourself.
I relate so much ! With a drug addict father a warrior mother and living in LA! We sometimes forget that a lot of us lived this life. Props so every child that was able to do better even though we live in a tough area
Damn respect! I remember those nights where my mom would not sleep because my sister was going through some dark times. Hearing my mom crying because she couldn’t find my sister. Going to work then coming home tired going out all night looking for my sister. My pops also going through a dark time in his life. Respect to your perseverance, even though you’re younger than me you’re an inspiration Dokno!

Living in LA as middle/lower class is really underestimated, what most people consider crazy was normal to locals. I grew up in hollywood, went to John Marshall high…my school was filled with kids from Echopark, silverlake/frogtown, before those neighborhoods gentrified. gang culture was something everyone was exposed too, either you’re in it or knew someone that was. Regardless one thing everyone had in common regardless of affiliation was everyones parents/family’s came to this city to provide a better opportunity for either themselves/family’s. Fast forward to today I’m happy to see people who grew up in such conditions have been able to make something out of themselves. As an adult now looking back, I wouldn’t have changed anything. Those experiences taught us how to maneuver in a city with so many variables.
