X-Men 97 is the best Marvel animated series since Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers EMH. Seeing Spider-Man reunited with Mary Jane again shows us that Marvel Animation was cooking and they were cooking hard. Man, I love being an X-Men fan. ✖️-Men for life!!!
What I love about this show is that they’re using Spidey as the launch pad to bring so many other MCU animated characters back into the fold just like the old days. I’m hoping X-Men 97 is only the start of a full on animated universe. Can’t wait to see the Silver Surfer, Fantastic 4, Iron Man and so many more just like the old days on Fox Kids!!
I’m in my 40s and don’t particularly care for cartoons. The story was amazing and had me hooked. I only paid attention because I watched this show and read the comics as a kid. The content is there. Just take it from the comics. This was so well done.
Gotta watch Batman the animated series man and the rest of the DCAU from the 90s to the 2000s. Batman, X-men, Spider-man from the 90s just slapped hard. My dad is 62 and still watches that stuff.

Legit, this has become the new weekly watch with the family. The X-men hit harder than any other IP, other than Spider-man. I grew up watching the X-men films with my mum, now I’m older were watch “97” and it’s amazing.
Honestly, they should end the MCU with avenger 6. Then focus on X-men. The multiverse destroyed the MCU. Let the Gen A & B have something new. The remake MCU 15 yrs later
Fast-paced, bold action, lots of twists and lots of memorable dialogues. Apart from that, great dubbing and music. I'm truly amazed at how beautifully they blossomed almost every character, especially Jane Gray, Cyclops, Storm, and Morph. The minus - a few inaccuracies and major plot shortcuts (episodes are only 30 minutes long, but are packed with many threads). And Scott and Jane's baby made me laugh - he was born looking like he was about 8 months old. Apart from that, it's great - they really exceeded my expectations.
As someone who hasn’t seen a single ep from the 90s series, this show was an absolute banger. It brought me up to speed and made me so invested in the characters, like I knew them all along.
X-Men 97 Season 1 is really a 10/10. Not going to say everything Marvel is going to do moving forward is going to be close to this though, honestly. -Very surprised Yellowflash gave the series props. Stopped watching his channel years ago, along with most of the other ones similar in content.

I think part of the reason why the percentages are lower for X Men is because people are waiting to resubscribe to Disney + until after it’s finished. Some people would rather wait a month or two so they can binge the entire show and only have to be subscribed to Disney + for one month. I imagine the numbers, especially with the show having massive online fan support, will go up significantly here in the next month or so.
I think the other thing that is genius is not only how they are choosing stories but how they are COMBINING stories from different time periods so seamlessly
I enjoy Sunspot's edition but I like even more that they kept it to only one character. They could've introduced 5 more young diverse characters but they kept it simple, have one POV character similar to Jubilee and explore a few extras but develop them adjacent to the core group's development. The formula and story telling has been great so far.
We should talk about the real reason X-Men '97 hits so much harder than the MCU. Kevin Feige's mandate that the MCU have "no messages" means those movies will never be more than empty spectacle. X-Men '97 actually has something to say. The action and melodrama are in service to that message. It means something, like art is supposed to. The MCU isn't art, and never has been. It's product. It's "content." It's there to tickle your id for 2 hours and then be forgotten when the next helping of slop comes down the infinite conveyor belt. And the MCU is like that _by design_. The difference is just night and day to me.

Unfortunately, I have seen people use the lower viewership as a ‘this is a failure just like the rest of the mcu’ type of propaganda. People really should stop using viewership as a basis for success. At least when comparing different media it is not a good baseline. With very few exceptions, animation will always come up short compared to live action. Animation still has the stigma of ‘being for kids’ to a lot of casuals. Something like ‘what if’ will draw in some people because of the direct tie to the mcu. X-men 97 does not have that connection (that we know of). Animation is also cheaper to produce and thus, the viewerships needed to be considered a success will also be lower. There really should be a normalized way of comparing shows, like viewers/cost or something. I think it would fare a lot better in some people’s eyes if viewed by other criteria. I also think a lot of reported data might have been from when it first aired. People were still cautious of getting their hearts broken if the show sucked. I’d be more curious to see metrics now that the show has ended. Some people might also wait to binge watch it in one go.

I think more than anything it is the writing and the story. They haven't pulled their punches with this show. I believe marvel she leaning into not just the X-Men but the nineties avengers and all that stuff from the 90s and what they done with the X-Men 97 update them enough to resonate with today and bring them into the MCU don't worry about what they were trying to do with who's going to be the new avenger characters for the MCU replacing the originals for the MCU don't worry about building up that story anymore instead bringing the characters from the 90s and maybe let them be able to go back and forth between both universes and probably eventually try to figure out how to solve reboot them into one. We just gonna ignore the rumors of the X-Men will focus more on the female X-Men...I feel bad for Marvel fans like Josh that think Marvel is gonna come back under Disney...pretty similar to the Star Wars fans.

Ummmm…. I’ve seen multiple other channels saying that the show didn’t save marvel since it didn’t make enough….
Also, something kind of concerning is that Feige isn’t listed anywhere in the credits… I don’t think he had a hand in the show and possibly let the showrunners do their thing which is why people enjoyed it so much. This bodes poorly for Feige led upcoming movies…
Wouldn't say that this saved the MCU. Why? Well as far as I remember, the last project which was actually canon to Marvel's flagship franchise i.e. the MCU was echo. And that didn't really do well.
But yeah sure, on its own pretty triumphant feat.
The mcu never needed saving. Did it needs tweaks? Sure but never needed saving.

I think more than anything it is the writing and the story. They haven't pulled their punches with this show. It is quite mature but not necessarily dark and is wonderfully NON woke and isn't insulting fans and or their intelligence. I also think you are wrong, i think it has branch out beyond the normal geek/nerd fan. I say that because i am no geek or nerd am not huge on the comics and cartoons. But i care about this show and this universe.
Its great but it won't do shit for the mcu as a whole. Now..... it could build to something. They should be building an entire animated verse. Id prefer that anyway. Its too expensive to keep doing live action, and it takes too long. In live action it takes years for something really cool to happen. Plus.... they can't fix the live action verse at this point

Do Cartoons normally chart like other series tho? Even if some did, I don't think any cartoon would. Especially one that hasn't been on since the 90s. I don't think people can measure the success of animation, even if it's Marvel, the same way they would live action. Most normies are still prejudiced against animation, unless it's something like The Simpsons maybe.

I believe marvel she leaning into not just the X-Men but the nineties avengers and all that stuff from the 90s and what they done with the X-Men 97 update them enough to resonate with today and bring them into the MCU don't worry about what they were trying to do with who's going to be the new avenger characters for the MCU replacing the originals for the MCU don't worry about building up that story anymore instead bringing the characters from the 90s and maybe let them be able to go back and forth between both universes and probably eventually try to figure out how to solve reboot them into one. Because that's the guy says in this video the biggest problem they made after on stage 4 was they took out the original characters in try to build less-known characters but they just can't do it that way they can still build up new characters from the MCU but they got to do like the 90s did before they got to build them up in the comments for several years and through other means before they're big enough to use on an avenger level other wise they will bomb like the marvels I actually believe that the characters in the marvel movie was pretty good it just the characters ain't known that good and you got stereotype people that just doesn't like Captain marvel which I do not understand why cuz I think it's a pretty decent character not the best but pretty decent in fact it was the way the people boy called that the actress to me that caused the movie the marvels to be so disjointed story-wise because the original Captain marvel movie was setting up for Captain marvel 2 well if you cancel Captain marvel 2 they still got to talk about the sequel that did not happen and that's what they had to do with the marvels and because of that the movie storytelling suffered greatly for Captain marvel someway somehow they got to do some more Captain marvel movies in order to give her a good story I think Miss marvel character is pretty good too if you did some more comments and some shows but with Captain marvel she's got to have a Captain marvel 2 they're just no way to get around it before they can really get that character to do good. but they probably need to move her in a sequel into the 90s universe and have her meet with the Miss marvel the eventually becomes Captain marvel I would recommend if they do that it would be a different actress playing that one instead of having the same actress playing Captain marvel in the MCU play in Miss Marvel's from the 1990s eventually become Captain marvel that will be just too confusing.
Or they can reboot the MCU after Secret Wars into a more 90s look
