I got a putter fitting with Joe! He is amazing his knowledge was great and my new putter is great
Ian’s accent get a little thicker when in 🏴😁
😂😂😂
It really does. LoL
I’d like to see Ian would walk behind the ball between putts. Maybe Take a look rather than Lineup to the machine. He missed so many putts one ball left because of alignment on amazing strokes
Switched from a newport 2 to an Evnroll ER8v5 this week. The Evnroll is phenomenal, wish I had given them a shot sooner.
The EV series is even better. I switched from an ER10 to an EV12 and knocked off 3 putt strokes a round
@@ScottHasADog I actually opted for the ER due to the alignment dots where the new EV8 is missing them.
Spoiling us with the amount of content this week chaps. Cant wait to get up to Glasgow again and get fit.
I was fit by Dane this week into that same Evnroll putter. Really like it. What we also found though is that my current putter is speced just about perfect for me. No hard sell, was told what I have works great but if I’m in the market for a new toy then the Evnroll will work. Great experience and a bit of a confidence boost as well.
Can’t help but notice how the accent is thickening up by the minute 😅 - happens to us all who live in the US but travel back to the homeland.
Had a fitting in Glasgow yesterday. Great experience and really eye-opening. Now, just need to have patience waiting for the shiny new flat stick (also an Evnroll) to arrive...
What sort of price are you looking at for the fitting etc? Obviously the putter affects the price but what’s the fitting? Never been fitted for a putter
Thumbs up for using 'fitting' instead of ' got fit'! (agh)!!!
@rossyhead69 it's listed as £75 but they are doing 50% off at the moment.
If you get a chance, go to Evnroll HQ in Carlsbad, CA and get fit. Nothing beats witnessing your putter built from fit to assembly before your eyes.
Cant wait to see the champions choice in the next WITB lol
Hard to get that one out the bag.
@@ianfrasergolfHey Ian, would you say this is a case of going against what you're fitted for because you have a love for a putter? This fitting said you need something with less toe hang, and mallet style, yet the Champions Choice is such a beauty, you will just find a way to make it work?
@@oohlram No not really. If you’ve seen any of the testing I’ve done with my Newport putter in Quintic it’s pretty much ideal for me.
@@ianfrasergolf okay thank you

It would be interesting to know how the putter grip can impact the face rotation of the putter.
Larger grip takes your hands and wrists out of it more stable
David Edel of Edel putters has an interesting video on what grips best suit people based on where their hands fall naturally - palms back or palms on or neutral etc.
But yeah would be nice to have some clarification from them. My wrists are never in the stroke, and big grips take whatever little feel and aim I already have and make me worse.
@@badbilly429 thank you
@@stuboy13 thank you I will take a look at that video.
Like to see Ian try a L.A.B. putter to see his honest review if they are actually worth the hype and price.
2nd this. I have a lab putter and improved in SG by 4 strokes per round in 2 months. I’d love to see ian’s take though
There is a TXG video where they reviewed the DF 2.1 - they liked it and said was good. I have one and find it to be great. Every time I use my older putter (anser style blade), I immediately notice how much easier it is to putt with a LAB putter (and I don’t care how it looks!).
So Ian is at once one of the world’s best fitters and, as a player, an example that there really is no such thing as getting fitted once and for all during an afternoon at your local txg, I mean club champion.
I was there on Tuesday and had a shaft fitting with Dane. VA nemesys was a quality fit.
Thank you
Time for subtitles, folks!
spending time with your countrymen in this video, ian's accent is much stronger than clips filmed in canada...funny!
So true!!!
Great job in the video Jose!! Top quality
I personally don't like the Sam system due to the attachment on the shaft, which alters your normal swing due to the extra weight. I also feel every putter fitting should start with your type of ball. I always bring my own srixon xv to all! my lessons. KCC
Cool vid guys, just curious what neck type would you recommend for an out to in slice putting stroke? Been told toe hang but unsure. If you could write back I’d appreciate it thanks
I’m scheduled for a fitting this week. I’m very excited, because through this process, as long as your swing is consistent, you can fit a putter to your swing, instead of changing your swing. Much easier fix!
Hey guys! I got a great deal on a Sik putter with LA golf graphite putter shaft. However it's 35 inches, and ideally I prefer a 34 inch putter. I'm going to be changing the grip regardless. What is the best way to trim an inch off the butt end of a graphite putter shaft? Should you even do it? Thanks for your advice!!
Ian where are you located with club champion?
I’m in Toronto currently but get back home to Scotland a couple of times per year.
Drove 7 hours to get fit by Joe at Glasgow CC, mostly down to the TXG association.
Made 4/14 putts with my old gamer from 15 feet, after going through the Sam lab process i made 7/7 with all the recommendations.
These guys are top drawer and i will be back!
Brilliant to hear Ryan!! 👍🏼
More pars please.. I'd be okay with just as many birdies as bogeys 😊
Evnroll is the best putter I have ever gamed period, put the ER11 outback in the bag and it's transformed my putting over the last year.... I can't ever see. Myself switching away from this brand
i did a putter fit at TXG Mississauga. I tried an EVNROLL putter and brought in two putters of my own to get adjusted/checked. Found my PING mallet was better than the EVNROLL, but funny thing is on the course I seem to have better speed control with my Taylormade Soto blade putter on the outdoor greens.
I got a putter fitting at my local club champion earlier this year and it was a huge rip off... 10 mins max and the guy running the fitting was barely even a golfer
Have played plumbersneck for 20 years with a lot of toe hang. Recently have looked at moving to face balanced. Didn't realize could get a PN that was face balanced.
Had a SAM putlab fitting myself over the summer. Very illuminating 👍
Your tempo is off. You are hitting at the ball rather than swinging through; u r decelerating as you approach the bottom of your swing and then arresting.😮
Ian will never change putters. But the data shows Ian will be better with something else.
For your average golfer, when should your comfort / preference override a fitting ?
In our area there aren’t these options. Me and my buddies had an awful experience at club champion. I watch these videos because Ian and txg have been such a positive blessing. But not every area has these options. Not all of us would go back to a club champion
I would love to see some golf accessories and training aid reviews/tests by you guys. Would like to see your take on Hackmotion if that would help average golfer.
been gaming the ER2 for awhile and dont think i will ever change. i switch out clubs frequently and have tried all sorts of putters, but i always go back to the Evnroll.
I wonder how the fitting would go with an open stance the way Nicklaus putted? It seems to me all the putting training aids is about square putting stances. I recently changed to an open stance so I could see the line better and putting so much better. I’m afraid if I went to a putter fitting they’d try and change my stance.
I got fit for my Scotty Cameron down at Titleist in southern Ca. The best move that I ever made, knocked at
least 5 stroke off my game. By not having to worry about how close to the hole I would have to make my approach!
Thanks for the great video!
Just me or does Ian pause at the back of his putting stroke a tiny bit? Throws off the tempo
Maybe I missed something but if your miss is left don’t you need more toe hang. It’s kind of like a driver, you put weight in the toe to keep the face from rotating closed
I'd argue most of these issues could be fixed with a focus on ball position and the cadence in transition from back/through swing.
I just got the Evnrol ER10 cracking putter far more consistent with it less 3 putts
I agree putter fitting is a must!! I got fit @ club champion in SoCal few months back. Went opposite direction as Ian. From Evnroll mallet face balanced to a Scotty Squareback2 with 45deg toe hang & it has made big difference. I would have stuck with evnroll but the location i was @ didnt have the model i needed in stock for me to try during the fitting.
We all know Ian will not be using this putter. Scotty Champions Choice not leaving the bag.
Had a great fitting with Dean Fry at the Mississauga location last Tuesday. Fit into an Evnroll EV 5.1. Absolutely love it!
I’d definitely be interested in more putter fitting content. With fitting generally, not all these fitters out in the world actually know their stuff. I’ve had them tell me ridiculous stuff. As I’ve learned more, I’ve been able to protect myself from bad fitting and to recognize who is good. I’d like to get fit for a putter but I need to learn more, to be able to discern who I can trust.
Hey guys, I love the content, have been an avid watcher since I discovered the channel a little over a year ago and have absolutely eaten up a lot of your library. I'm curious though - you guys are basically the pinnacle of professional club fitting, and I'd love to see a video about how you got where you are and how aspiring fitters can approach the industry and find a career in fitting. I've been told repeatedly that I've got a highly analytical approach to sales (my current field) and have loved to be a problem solver my entire life, two things that I feel would directly correlate to success in fitting. Obviously a love of golf and sport in general plays into that as well.
Any chance you guys could give us a video about how to approach the field and be successful in an industry that is notoriously difficult to succeed in?
So you moved from graphite shaft to steel shaft? Why didn’t you try a graphite shaft?
Booked in for a visit- really looking forward to learning more about my game v my gamers
I switched from a Scotty x5 mallet to evnroll mallet after a Sam fitting also but I needed a lot of toe hang and it’s helped me a bunch
1. Penalty shots, 2. Two chips, 3. Three putts.
Haney preaches this.
What a great set up at champion golf amazing technology. I went for a driver fitting but went home with a new putter. Dane my fitter for the day said I didn’t need a new driver as the one I had was fine. So I thanked him for his honesty and asked his advice about a putter fitting which he done brilliantly and made me feel relaxed and confident. The putter I bought was the even roll mallet type which has helped me greatly. Thanks Dane. Keep up the great work at helping us handicap golfers improve our game.
In general wouldn’t less toe hang increase the rate of rotation? I swear I’ve seen a video where Ian himself speaks to that misconception, because the greater the toe hang the more the toe lags behind.
Txg brand name so much better than club champion feels a little bit cheap eh
The SAM Lab is legit from experience. I was fortunate to get a great fitter who made getting putter fit a great experience.
it’s no coincidence CC doesn’t use the premium Quintic tech but TXG does
That thing hanging from the shaft has to effect something. That is why I like quintic
What do you think of LAB putters?
Great stuff. Interested in that style putter.
Check your feet alignment. From the video it appears your feet are aimed slightly right which will cause the face to close too soon and give you those pulled putts.
There is a little left break in the mat and you might have heard them say the line is right half of the cup. Also, alignment was being looked at during the down the line view. I'm sure if it was off something would have been said.
Got fit for this same putter yesterday, at my local club champion.
Great minds think alike!
What's the over under on when Ian goes back to his Scotty lol
I’ve never been out of the Scotty. 🤷🏻♂️
RIP TXG
damn sweet Scottish accent, i studied in St andrews 20 years ago
Thank God for closed caption 😂
Developmental ophthalmologists say the best way to putt is to stand with your eyes a few inches inside in order to better see the line. Jack Nicholas knew this. ALSO, you must know if you are right or left eye dominant. Before Tiger Woods had his head injury he was left eye dominant. Dr. Maestro
There is no one right way to position your head at address, you have to find what’s right for you. We done a video on this with renowned putting instructor Gareth Raflewski a couple of years ago.
In answer to clubchampion: standing with your eyes directly over the ball creates an optical illusion where the actual strait line to to hole appears bent to the brain. The "corrective" apparent straight line you then wrongly see does in fact lead off to the side of the hole. Standing with your head a little to the in side of the ball allows the brain-eye connection to see the real line better. All neuro-opthalmologists can't be wrong! DR. M
I know evnrolls are supposed to be scientifically better, but I cannot stand the feel and sound off the face. It's ok on soft balls like the TP5 or Chromesoft, but I play the V1x and it feels like an old range ball off the face.
Much softer than a Scotty though...
The switch to a less toe hang putter will increase the rotation of the putter? Shouldn’t Ian have moved to a putter with more to hang?
I recently got sent away from a putter fit in the UK to ‘work on alignment’ because i didnt use a line up line on the ball… apparently it wouldnt have been worth carrying on with the fit… ended up going and buying something off the rack on my way home. Needless to say i wont be returning to the fitting company i was turned away from . Waste of a 3 hour round trip and fitting fee
That’s crazy. I don’t use a line anymore. It got to the point of distracting from my stroke.
@@rpk4632 exact same for me was just focusing on the line and nothing else. And ended up not trusting the line on the ball most of the time… im pretty sure it was just because i said i wanted one of the cheaper putters in the questionnaire but cant be sure
Where was the putter fitting this happened? Save us from the same experience.
@@stuboy13 was at scottsdale golf
Geez! They’d kick me out I don’t even mark my ball 😆
