    For me, these transformational videos are my fav content you produce. The bombs and club reviews are fun and all, but the visible difference in these is so good. Could watch this all day. Also - for any skeptics, the results you see in this video are the real-deal. My first fitting experience was a putter fit from Ian. Dropped about 4 strokes after that one club change alone.

    I was just there (TXG Toronto) recently for a putter-fitting with Cam. I also chose an E7 although I had already kind of decided before I booked the fitting that I likely wanted an Evnroll after doing a lot of research on putters. I just wasn't sure about "blade or mallet?" I had a no-name blade putter with a rubber insert for the last 25 years that I found in a store somewhere for cheap and I've putted quite decently with it since but I figured I could do with a little new technology on the green.
    I had a fitter local to me do some re-fitting on my old putter and after analysing my stroke he told me he thought I was more suited to a mallet (he doesn't sell clubs, he just does fittings and adjustments). I didn't tell Cam that at the start of the session as to not prejudice him and I brought my old putter with me, but Cam basically told me the exact same thing. We did try several other big name blades and mallets AND other Evnrolls that were all tempting but the E7 seemed to perform the best of everything for me and I am REALLY loving it so far. Many more of my putts from 25 to even 45 feet are finishing in "tap-in" range instead of 4-5 foot "knee knockers".
    I am seriously considering fitting the other clubs in my bag at TXG before the start of next season. Thanks for the great experience!

    Putter fitting is so forgotten ...many take something from a rack , make some putts on the putting mat in the shop and take it home. For me the edel putter fitting I got for my 50th birthday was a real eyeopener. Started with my own Scotty Newport and that showed that I aimed right high...than build the putter from the ground up. When I got the putter that aimed right on the hole we went outside and there the putter weight was build up while putting on the real putter green. Another great video 👍🏽

      Raymond Poublon I love my Edel, it has transformed my scoring, but people scoffed at £400, saying I was a mug, whilst they spent £450 on a driver they hit at most 14 times in 18 holes. Driving for show, putting for dough. I average

    Great Video Ian like to see more putting video's. How much can grip size or type have an effect on the putting stroke. Do you take grip into account when fitting?

    • @apaulmcdonough2170
      @apaulmcdonough2170 2 роки тому +1

      Basically, the Thicker the Grip the more It diminishes the effect of Toe Flow. Thinner enhances Toe Flow.
      If your "Miss Tendency" is to the "Push" side, "Thicker" brings you more to the "Pull" Side.
      If your "Miss Tendency" is to the "Pull" side, "Thicker" will Increase the "Pull" Miss.
      Conversely, "Thinner" moves you from "Pull" towards "Push".

    Fascinating, I was custom fit for an Edel and it’s a magic wand. But it wasn’t done on a machine of this nature, purely by eye and laser alignment. Their big selling point it toe up, but not sure why it helps me.
    At the end of the day, you still have to be able to read greens, and some breaks are so subtle you just cannot see them. I’m not thinking I. Should have my Edel verified using this method.
    What’s your thoughts on the Edel fitting system Ian?

    Those are all expensive putters. I also had a Scotty Select Squareback Custom, Toulon Long Island, and Cleveland Tfi 2135 Bronze 1.0.
    Dropped the Scotty, couldn't aim it.
    Pretty good with the Toulon but I have to work for it.
    Easiest putter to use is the cheap Cleveland TFI. The 2135 aim line helps me relax, speed control is great, makes trouble putts seem easy. Sometimes the "Bling" gets the best of us.

    Been meaning to ask, How do you guys feel about Edel putters that are neither face or toe balanced, but are basically toe up? they call it torque balanced.
    The idea being it will help close the face better at impact- even more so than a face balanced putter.
    I tried one briefly in a shop and I’m planning on going to an Edel putter fitting nearby in the next month or two.
    I did some research online and their putter fitting seems to get very good reviews....they seem very thorough with all of their measuring and lining up with lasers etc etc. They also strongly promote the idea that most golfers would benefit from not having a line or sighting aid on top of the putter which is interesting.
    Would appreciate your thoughts (or anyone else’s) on this though before spending the money. It’s approx $400 for the fitting and cost of brand new custom putter.

    I would really appreciate it if you could provide a recommendation in terms of putters. Based on your suggestions I went ahead and used the Ping putter app to fit myself.
    Some outputs were.
    6.2deg. Closing angle- slight arc
    Tempo-2.2
    Lie angle recommendation- 2deg flat
    Shaft lean- -3deg hands in front.
    I currently use a Tommy Armour Impact #3 which is designed for SBST swing types. My miss is a push right (righty) and I miss short. I would love to correct it but struggling to interpret results.

      Steven Carrier Something I suggest anyone do in order to use the app is scratch the idea of the cradle all together. You can simply take a rubber shaft lock you would normally use for grip changes etc... and cut it in half. • @apaulmcdonough2170
      @apaulmcdonough2170 2 роки тому

      The "adjustable weights" are there to balance Overall Weight to Swingweight.
      The "Neck Style" attaching the Shaft to the Head has the most influence of Increasing or Decreasing Toe Flow.
      A Newport 2 and a Newport 2.5 are Identical in every aspect except "Neck" and that is why a 2.5 has MORE T F than a 2
      Weight doesn't affect PATH.
