- In this video we do some weight reduction to THE WOLF, Brad's Supercharged F150 5.0, and cut 2 tenths off of our 1/4 mile time. This allowed us to click off a 10.58 quarter mile on an unprepped surface. This is the next step for our drag truck build. We got a fresh tune revision from Ken Osborne at OZ Tuning featuring DRAG MODE, & we removed around 160 pounds of weight.

2.8 0-60 and 10.5 1/4 mile on the street in a full size truck with the complete interior. What a monster. I love it!
With a little diet and exercise and I think we can drop it on down. I love this truck!
@@BackroadDriver I bet on the drag strip, not going uphill, with it fully gutted interior and all, and a Kirkey for the driver seat, I bet you can get high 9’s.

3M general adhesive remover will take that glue right off. Test in the inconspicuous area first but I’ve never had a problem with it whatsoever and it’s great for more things than one.

What exactly did you mean when you said popped another compressor? I just ordered a forced induction interchiller with your backroad code and I would love to not pop a compressor. Any tips would be appreciated
My truck was the first to have a VMP Odin supercharger and had a different AC Compressor pulley that has since been changed. Because my pulley is smaller, I was spinning that pulley bearing faster than it would stand up to. Not the FI’s fault.
Are you still launching in 4x4 after the drag pack? Or will it hook in 2wd?

Do you plan to try 2wd on a prepped track?
No. The 4x4 is an advantage and I’m carrying the weight so I need to use it.
@@BackroadDriver yea very true. I’d think you would pick up some mph on the big end though being in 2wd vs 4wd. Getting it to leave as hard as a 4 hi launch is the kicker though
That’s the beauty of this system. I flip to 2wd at about 80mph.
How much more do the front and rear bumper weigh over the stock ones

What rear bumper is that it looks sick! And I'm thinking if you remove all but the driver seat and a small shot N2O you could hit a high 9.
Ok, Here are a few comments.
First of all, use Grafix Gone followed by Isorophyl Alchol to remove the decal adhesive. That will shorten you time quite a bit.
Next, for more weight redution, the back seat can come out. Just the seat, not the backs.
As far as getting under the truck, at least one of you, maybe both, can be Santa Claus at the mall. Just saying it takes one to know one........
Finally, I think 10.5 is about the fastest street legal production truck out there and a supercrew 4WD as well. You are just above where you need roll bars and helmets at a track. Keep an eye on that front transfer case. That will fail if you are doing all of this in 4WD at some point.

Boiling/hot water to remove graphics or paint protection. If you ever want to do a side by side of your truck now vs your truck stock I’m your guy!

Are you still using the stock transfer case with all this hp? Also, have you ever broke it?
Stock transfer case. Never broke it. We have a front diff brace that keeps everything rigid.

Next drop the taillights, heavy and they stick out from the side of the truck. Replace them with the halogen ones off a 2015 XL, the lightest ones that sit flush. Pull the CHMSL off and replace it with the Super Duty cap. Pull the mirrors off to reduce a ton of weight and make the thing more aerodynamic. Take the front bumper off and run a Shelby.
So you guys have some experience with the whipples and the new generation coyote. So what's your opinion, can we trust it? should I bite the bullet and buy the new tech?

I have a good question for you guys so when you guys were deciding on what to do with these trucks u guys have did you ever think about turbocharging the trucks instead of the supercharger? Dont get me wrong tho them whipple superchargers are insane. Btw u should think about throwing a shot of nitrous in the wolf sometime lol
The Wolf never had a master plan. It was supposed to be a good daily driver and it morphed into a race truck. Sam’s truck, The Hammer, is supposed to be a jack of all trades. The Wolf may get turbos in the future…

Put some captain chairs in the back lightweight material. Put some carbon fiber body panels on. It is a sweet looking truck a sleeper at times it does look custom Probably cheaper then a shall be, but still like the Shelby super snake F150. Just off the wall. Would you guys ever be interested in slamming a Ford Ranger making making that a custom truck? The one that's coming out next year. With a super charge or a Turbo charged B6.
Yes, give it a while for aftermarket. Products to catch up or you could always drop a forward forward GT in a custom slammed. Ford Ranger just seen if anyone out there would do that. Slam a 4 ranger. I do like my lift the trucks. But at the same time I do like lowers trucks. Depending on where you from state. They both look nice trucks either way up or down. Not everybody has the luxury to have a full size. Pickup to see more midsize pair of trucks out there on the web or UA-cam. Mid-size pickup trucks are just do it as full size. Pick up trucks.
I remember Back in a day the Dodge RT pickup truck.
I think you guys need to shed the custom front and rear bumpers if you want to shed some real weight and would look better on a race truck
Crazy enough these don’t weight much more than the stocks but we have some plans to cut their weight…
