    Thank you so much!
    I'm a cosplay noob and and wanted to build a sword out of insulating foam, but I totally ruined it and was too afraid to work with it again :/
    but I will definitely try it again on my next cosplay!

    Great Video. After seeing Lighting Cosplay´s MhW Sword of Foam , this looks like a great Alternative for people with a tighter budget.

    Super cool video!! So informative! Loved seeing all the different reactions of the foam!
    Favourite Parts of the video:
    1. No-face puppet peering over your shoulder, ready to mess anybody up who dares defy you..!!
    2. CONFETTI (tiny trash!!)
    3. Googly eyes~ :3
    4. You ;)

      Confetti is life!! haha xD
      I can't remember for which birthday I bought that but don't worry, I have still enough for next year ;D
      but no-face pupped has a face :o
      maybe I should glue on some googly eyes to make it more 'visible', haha

    Hi i found an alternative to a heat gun when you want to bend thin sheets of insulation foam.... A hair dryer. I recently made a I.f face mask. UHU glue other than styropor melts foam too

    Nice Vid & informative especially for Beginners!

      Ich habe früher leider auch immer viel zu viel für Materialien ausgegeben xD
      aber im laufe der Zeit finden man (zum Glück) immer mehr günstigere alternativen ^^

    Hello, love the video, hopefully in a few months I’ll be making my first prop and was wondering if you know what the best way to glue sheets of eva foam to xps so that I can cover it instead of worbla?

    • @FatUnicornCosplay

    this will probably not get answered but how does eva foam compare to insulation foam for making props like this? is one better than the other?

  • @dakotaleee.4238
    @dakotaleee.4238 3 роки тому

    Thank you for the video. I was wondering how I might create a support for a longer sword prop that's about 185cm? When doing it in the past with just foam the handle breaks off

    • @FatUnicornCosplay
      @FatUnicornCosplay  3 роки тому

      I always use two sheets of insulation foam and cut out a small piece in the middle (on both sheets) to glue in a PVC pipe.
      The pipe needs to be long enough to fit into the sword and be the handle at the same time.
      This will distribute the weight better and the sword will not break as easily :)

    What is the material called that she talks about at 6:00? The black stuff? Is it foam sheets?

    • @FatUnicornCosplay
      @FatUnicornCosplay  4 роки тому +1

      No, it's called Worbla.
      This is a thermoplastic material that you can heat up with a heat gun and then bring in any shape you want.
      Many cosplayers like to use it for there armors or to cover there props in it for more stability, but sadly it's much more expensive than Eva Foam :/

    Best glue for it is a special glue for XPS foam (not Styropor) or epoxy glue
    Thank me later 🫶

    • @FatUnicornCosplay
      @FatUnicornCosplay  11 місяців тому

      The Styrofoam glue in the video is an XPS/EPS glue.
      Honestly, I don't know why I didn't mention it, but thanks for pointing it out!
      and thanks also for the tip about the epoxy glue!
