  • So I made my old repair video a long time ago when I first started playing, and while it is still relevant it's a little haphazard in how its put together and tries to put both armour and weapons in one.
    SO! I made a new armour repair guide, its in-depth and overall fairly long but if you are familiar with the game you can skip bits of it. See the chapters.

    Just a note on the repair option. Technicians can only repair weapons. Specifically the overall condition(I like to think of it as not weapon health, but weapon cleanliness) and not the parts. They do not fix suits anymore.

      @@Bandanner its all good. I would say you should give the M1 Thompson a chance next time you start a new game. That .45ACP HP round does about as much damage as 7.62x54 to mutants.

    • @Bandanner
      @Bandanner  Рік тому

      Do you find enough ammo for it? That's my worry early game taking a .45 weapon, I know there is always a lot of shotgun shells and 9mm etc.

      @@Bandanner From my playthrough (I got Strayer Voigt) I must say 'No'. .45 is easy to buy but does not drop as often as buckshot.
      EDIT: Also, one of the reasons I got back to shotgun is the spread of buck shot. It is much easier to hit that %#^& cat/dog :)

      @@rogermcbadlad2812 I tried the tommygun and I didn't like its ironsight and handling. It's like PPSH with ammo which is rarer at Cordon. It's OK when you get to Garbage and may buy lots of it from Butcher.

    In the beginning I hated all the repairing and crafting in G.A.M.M.A.... now I actually like it a lot. It gives you a great feeling when you have repaired your very first assault rifle after 15 hours of play.

    Sowing Kits accept lots of higher level supporting materials (quilt, rope, cable, tarpaulin, boots, pants...) that give huge repair bonuses which often exceed bonus from simple cloth mask. Check properties of each sowing kit for a list.

    Thank you for this, repairing armor is different and alot easier than weapons. Very informative that I do not need to repair each individual parts, just replace parts and get the armor to at least 50% then use repair kits to get up the condition to near 100% and the components will improve with it.

    • @czesawcz
      @czesawcz Рік тому +3

      I recently started playing with it. It's not that difficult.
      You basically have 3 options on Artifact Melter:
      1. Improve artifact by merging it with the same type of artifact (just like fixing it)
      2. Merge different artifacts to create more powerful one
      3. Use artifacts to restore Artifact Melter charges
      The only issue I have with it is that, when you merge 2-3 perfect (100%) artifacts it gives you a higer level one at ~30%. So, you need to to this multiple times to get enough artifacts to merge them together, to get the 100%.
      Therefore, to get end-game, top-tier artifact, at 100%, you need loads of 1st tier ones.

    • @Bandanner
      @Bandanner  Рік тому +1

      @@czesawcz This is actually what has put me off playing with it, all the good ones I get are such low quality it seems like too much hassle to try and make more to make one 100% good one.

    • @czesawcz
      @czesawcz Рік тому +1

      @@Bandanner exactly. It's clearly endgame grind.
      Although recently I got second volat emerald (the one you get from Sin mini-boss) and merged them to ~35%. Even at this point it gives nice ~20% bonus to psychic + some other resistance boosts.

      I did not I'm afraid, there is a joint repair video which was a little older where I repaired a pistol on the channel.
      Grok made a lot of change over the last year but most things are still relevant.

      @@Bandanner I like it. I think the narrower subject makes the video shorter, and easier to absorb knowledge. Also, as you said, armour and weapons repairs are similar but quite different. It's good you started with armour, as the easy one.
      These repair guides are also very relevant when it comes to upkeep.
      It's easy to repair armour, and it's easy to fix the weapon cleanliness. But I often forget about weapon parts untill it starts jamming :D

    So, if an armor part is below 50% and a weapon part is below 60%, are they useless?

    • @Bandanner
      @Bandanner  Рік тому

      Armour parts below 50% aren't totally useless. You can use them to craft new things even if they are very low % (unless Grok changed it).
      And weapon parts below 60% can technically be repaired with an expensive parts repair kit.

    Something strange happened with my game today. Until yesterday, I was able to repair any piece of armor I had using the armorer npcs, but now this isn't working anymore. The repair button within the armorer npc repairing screen isn't clickable anymore. I can still repair weapons, but not armors. What the hell is happening here? Does anyone know? I didn't change any mod or mod option in my game.

    Just started, how do I get more basic tools?

    • @czesawcz
      @czesawcz Рік тому +1

      What do you mean by 'basic tools'?
      You can get Basic/Advanced/Expert Toolkits from stashes (stashes that are marked on map).
      For Expert Toolkits you have to go to Red Forrest / Radar or higher.
      You get stashes locations as quest reward or randomly when looting corpses.
      For glues, armour repair kits, etc., you can get them as random drop or buy from mechanic (as shown in the video). You might need to upgrade the mechanic by doing his quest (give basic/advanced/expert toolkit) and the you have to wait a day or so for his stock to refresh.
      But, never give him your last toolkit :) You need it more.
