I'm going through the top 20 Favorite Video Game Songs of all time as voted on by my community. This came in at number 10!
Back in the early days of my channel, I recieved a lot of requests for this one and so many in fact that I had to go back and actually really play the game since I had only played it briefly before beginning my channel. It was also the start of my college days where I was studying classical guitar and it became a bit of a meme that I couldn't afford a capo because I used a gameboy advance cartridge that I tied onto my fretboard with shoelace. Thankfully I can afford a capo now, but of course I didn't end up needing it for this arrangement. Otherwise I totally would have done it again for the joke.
As I've been doing with the previous covers, this one I really focused more on capturing the original feel than trying to shoehorn a metal arrangement. Halfway through arranging it, I found myself wanting to do the same thing I did in the Stickerbush Symphony cover of building it slow to a drop and then going wild with it. A part of me felt cheap for doing it again, but I really felt that the song called for it so I just went with my gut.
This cover really came together in the post-production process though, I found this incredible pad sample that I thought fit so well that it ended up being a prominent part of the mix. It was in the perfect key and when it wasn't on the right chord, somehow it twisted the chords into something really interesting. In the beginning, every mix I did of this felt horrendous and it took an extra long time to get it right. The whole reason all of these covers have been filmed in the studio is so I can spend more time on the audio and less time on the video.
After a really tough production on this, I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it.

For a lot of people, Corridors of Time is arguably the best song on the Chrono Trigger OST. And for good reason. It's wild that just from sound (and without words) you can pull together grand imagery of a time period that's never existed. Great work!
I am one of those people.
You know that feeling of missing something, someone, somewhere, but you have no memory of it, them, there? You can't remember it, but you can feel that it's not there, and that's not right. But was it real? Did it actually exist? How can something I never knew make me so sad?
That's what this song feels like.

Arguably one of the best video game BGMs, if not the best.
Chrono Trigger is special to me because my mom loved it. She was in her 50's when her health turned downwards. I got her a DS and before i knew what was happening she chewed through chrono trigger and all of the pokemon games up to that point, all in under a year. This song feels magical, because it fills me with a sensation of longing for a place I've never been. Something about it makes it seem like this distant far off world I could never imagine. Thank you for the wonderful rendition.

I think for me, its more like, longing for a time, an era and a place that is gone, where you can no longer return to. Maybe not so much about not a longing for the magical kingdom off zeal, but instead, those bygone years you spent with your mother... those years when my sister was still alive.
It's amazing that video games can have this kind of influence on people.
Some people think video games are just waste of time, but I think people who are wiser realize it's actually high art, and done right, it can speak to the human condition. Every game ever made that we remember is nothing less than a Heroes journey and a story about how to have courage in the face of evil and of doubt.
The fact that a 30 year old game can bring that sense of contentment to a human being during a time of trouble is a beautiful thing, and it proves in my mind, that video games can be symphonies if done right.
I saluted this post so hard that the concussive force of my hand to my forehead knocked me unconscious for 4 hours... I just woke up and am now pressing the reply button.

Damn man... thats right, crono and gang, at least the visual design were by toriyama... I may not like DB: Super, but it doesn't change that DB/DBZ and toriyama himself had some of the biggest impacts on anime and manga, his are the shoulders of those giants we speak,

Chrono Trigger music always makes you lose yourself in a state of deep reflection and awareness. Like it tries to tell you something with every sound, every note. You captured that beauty, beautifully.

Music has a way of transcending all barriers. Language means nothing, even if you don't understand the words of the song.
And Chrono Trigger music transcends time and space.
This and Secret of the Forest are like a major escape in time for me. It's like I am able to disconnect and realize former versions of myself in those previous moments of escape.
Super Nintendo music in general was pinnacle of video game soundtracks. N64 and PS1 too. Where they had to think about fitting it onto the cartridge and had limited space. It made them become creative to work within the limitations of the system. Now you can just drop whatever mp3 file on it.
Super Mario RPG's soundtrack was amazing. Hell, even Donkey Kong Country has a good soundtrack...

Janus and Schala, the only two storys that were never fully wrapped up in the original game.
Wasn't a fan of Cross as a sequel, as a game on its own merits it was amazing, like to ignore its attempts to connect the two games.
Jesus Christ, I have heard so many covers of this song over the years but the transition from the more acoustic cover to the full metal rendition is genuinely incredible. I will never get tired of this song.

My dude. Corridors of Time is such an iconic song, and there have been so many renditions of it, that I assumed you wouldn't have anything new to add. I was wrong. The drop at 1:51 was gorgeous, and this version really sings. This is genuinely the best thing to happen to this song since Laura Shigihara added lyrics and vocals. Excellent work.
This sounded amazing coming from the SNES and it sounds absolutely incredible here. Shows just how well composed the track was.
Shows what an artist putting their blood, sweat, and tears into a project is capable of. Which, in the case of Chrono Trigger's soundtrack, just happens to be both metaphorical and literal.
The greatest RPG of all time, given a wonderful cover by a wonderful artist/musician/whatever you wanna be called. Thank you, for this. Chrono Trigger always needs more relevance. The Golden Age of RPGs on the Super Nintendo with the greatest game.... So much joy.

What I love about this in particular is that I adore the RichaadEB version of this track, and yet despite these both being electric guitar covers of the same piece, they are both distinct from each other. I will have no problem have both on my playlist, because this cover is so unique and awesome

Yeah, this is a triumph. Way to nail every single part and then some. I feel you captured the essence of what it felt like to visit Zeal for the first time, especially with the section from 1:00 to about 1:30.

Chrono Trigger was my first ever game i played as a kid and the music always will have a special place for me and damn not only do i love your version of the song , id love to hear your version of the other songs from the game
This actually made me pretty emotional... Do I love Chrono Trigger? Yes. Do I love Corridors of Time? Yes and to this Day Mitsuda is my favorite composer, no contest. But none of that was what hit me. What hit me was a memory of ten years ago. A random UA-cam search and a one-off recommendation for some dude trying a guitar cover and I though, why not. I was treated to a video of a guy who clearly loved Videogame Music as much as Metal based on the posters plastered all over his walls AND he absolutely rocked Frog's Theme. That smile after he nailed the bass riff after the solo was priceless and I knew I'd be checking him out again. Now ten years later a lot has changed. I get a sub notification and that guy who was recording music in his bedroom? He's a musician in a studio, but still absolutely killing in and still sporting that smile. I hope this can happen again in another ten years, keep rockin' Jules!

My favorite 16 bit era game tune of all time. What a great cover this is! The rock out at 1:50!!! I still can't fathom how such a track isn't even heard by the player until they are dozens of hours into the game. Many players who owned the game never got to even hear this...

I have a big chrono trigger tattoo on my bicep. I know Mitsuda's name. I have listened to probably a hundred covers and remixes of this piece by now. I listen to a lot of nostalgic covers, and I've listened to a lot of your work. This made me weep. Not just tear up, but cry. This is the most perfect cover of anything I've ever heard. It's simultaneously faithful and expanding. It perfectly captures what you're supposed to take from it in the game. It's an improvement on the original. It's breathtaking and awe-inspiring.
