Brilliant video! Not just the best on this particular topic but actually exemplary for how ALL disassembly videos should be: Featuring reasonable chapters and paying just as much attention to reassembly. I don't understand why anybody voted this down. One tiny correction: The two screws securing the battery are PZ1 on my DC62, not PH1. And I think I spotted the same in the video as well. A PH1 screwdriver will work but is not ideal.
The DC62 is a great machine and after six years mine deserved a good cleaning . The most difficult part has been to access to the motor filters. Thanks for your detailed tutorial.
Excellent video! Very useful! Thanks! I have cleaned mine and will reassamle tomorrow hopefully without problems. I can suggest to add the number of screws that are unscrewed at each step to make sure you have all. I decided not to clean the filters on the back of the motor because I was unable to disassemble the part.
i've watched a few of those and cleaned up my V6 with some struggle. This video seems the most detailed and professional, it's a pity i didn't see it first. Great job!
great help !! thankyou ! i did it and currently the parts are drying. (only the fine foam was pretty much disintegrated and fell apart.. i wonder if packing foam is the same..
You're welcome, I myself used an aquarium filter for a dyson where the filter fell apart. That one was very similar. I think packing foam works fine too.
@@SpareTimeWorkshop so i bought the upgrade from aliexpress, with the different filter and now want to re-assemble. but i wonder if the dustbin can be seperated from the grey nozzle for cleaning.. the thing you show at 10:26 there seems to be a screw behind the electrical plug (?) i would like to get these seperated since i see dirt through the transparent bin and also i can not move any flap there.. seems like solid..
My pleasure. You can find it online. At Amazon, for example: www.amazon.nl/Isopropanol-alcohol-99- Reinigingsmiddel-oplosmiddel/dp/B089W1ZP5W good luck cleaning your Dyson.
I recommend buying the original one. I myself replace the cells of the original battery. (So I can put good quality cells back). But this is not something everyone wants to do. Often cheap cells are used in replica batteries.
Hello, many thanks for this great video. Please could you give me the references of the Dust Bin Collector Bucket, an exploded vue,...? Indeed, I need to replace the flapper inside the dust bin collector. Many thanks for your help. And new time Excellent video.
Unfortunately, this guy is not paid by Dyson. Of course, there is always a chance of something breaking when you take apart an appliance. Obviously, the goal is to extend the life of your vacuum cleaner if it loses suction due to clogging, for example. No reason to take apart a well-functioning vacuum cleaner.
I'm following each step and the process is working just fine and I'm not that inclined with take-apart jobs. I'm very grateful for this video, particularly because he wasn't yapping the whole way throgh. I got the vacuum second hand and it really stinks. I had trouble getting the cheap screws out so wasn't able to take the machine completely apart but got enough apart for a deep clean. We'll see what the smell is when I reassemble it.
@@harmstro2most likely some moisture has been sucked up in the past. That then soaks the fine dust causing it to grow bacteria. That's where the smell comes from . Give the Cyclone a damn good soak, then wash , shake scrub (small bottle brush) anything you can get at. Then leave to dry for 48hrs in an airing cupboard. Especially if you cant disassemble completely. Goid luck 👍
Yay!!!!!! I did it!!!!! Not only did I save heaps of money, my self confidence just rocketed into the stratosphere! 🚀 Thank you so much! ❤

I agree. I'm always afraid of breaking it when taking it off. Fortunately, that hasn't happened to me yet.
You're welcome.

This is a great video. I forget all the small things between cleanings and this sure helps. A good machine and will do the job.
Really useful video. Just finished my dc62.
Thanks for posting this 😁👍
You're welcome, thanks for your feedback. 👍

Great tutorial, I managed to disassemble (the most diffcult part ... ) and reassemble without major problems ! The cleaning was really due ;)

I've tried, but I can't get it off either. If you did get it off it would be a lot easier to clean.
Thanks so much for this very useful vidéo :-). My Dyson 6 Absolute still works after 7 or 8 years and many cat's hair ;-).
You're welcome. Thank you for your massage.
Excellent video clear concise demonstration
Thanks Ken

Perfect video - thank you.
merci pour ce tuto, il m'a grandement aidé.
ottima spiegazione da maestro bravo
Excellent video.
Thank you 😊
Top video. Very helpful . thanks for sharing it with us
You must also remove the external envelope of the purple filter to clean it. You will be horrified ....huge amount of dust.,,😢
When I thoroughly clean a Dyson I usually replace the filter. But I will take 1 apart good tip!
Thank you for the video. Do you have a link to the tools you used for disassembly?
Thank you. I have a link of the tool I use in the description.
Would you recommend to buy the original battery or is it okay to go with the knock off?

Found it! Thanks
Merci pour ton travail.
Muchas gracias
any replacement for 2 post filters?
Not having found them myself, I ended up making one of a fine aquarium pump filter. This one was very similar in texture.

I hope Tyson's paying this guy because I would hate to see how many people have ruined their vacuum trying to do this and have to buy a new vacuum
