I seem to remember an old mod that was a "sun apocalypse" where the overworld would slowly get hotter and hotter killing off all plants and making the surface uninhabitable. No idea if it's still around but that could be and interesting addition.
If I'm not mistaken, Isn't it the Pandora Box one? EDIT: Yep, it's "Solar Apocalypse", you open the Pandora Box and the sun begins inching close to earth. Found a video from... 11 years ago.
@@Aleuse I don’t remember it being the Pandora’s box mod, I was under the impression it was a standalone mod but it could have been made by the same developer and added to the roster of effects from the box. Either way i remember thinking it was a really cool mod back then
@@JerryFilms I know which mod you're talking about but it's not that one, it is indeed a standalone mod but you activate it by opening a different, craftable pandora box that gives a lightning effect and begins the solar apocalipse. It also confused me when I looked it up.

Misc pro tips:
- For all your brick needs, Mason villagers sell already baked bricks. You don't need to run around looking for naturally generated clay !
- You don't need to sleep through the night to reset phantoms, just laying in bed and immediately getting out is enough.
- If you ever need saplings of other kinds, have a look at the Wandering Trader's offers. They often sell some.

I mean he did check a trader at least once and was unlucky 😅 traders spawn pretty rarely, so if this segment took less than 4 hours to record that might’ve been the only trader he found.

17:50 it's a feature called a zombie siege. at midnight there is a 10% chance for the game to attempt to start a zombie siege. if the player is near enough to a village and the zombies have a block they can spawn on up to 20 zombies can spawn.
every youtuber i’ve seen who encounters a zombie siege has never heard of it before, it’s really funny. it’s one of those weird obscure mechanics you never hear about until it happens to you

Neat concept. If you're limited in your water keep in mind that the "mb" stands for "millibuckets", 1000mb is a full bucket. That's why your final pond would't be completely full with 8 buckets but overflow with 9, your first bucket of water from the cave was only 875mb.

Not that rare if you are playing a desert world, you find them every so often, the real challenge in those kinds of worlds are 7 block cacti

fluid in minecraft mods is usually measured by the bucket, and a millibucket is 1/1000 of a bucket
so 1000mb = 1b

personally, I've been interested in doing the sort of polar opposite of this challenge - the world is restricted to only generating a handful of very cold biomes (glaciers, snowy slopes/frozen peaks, etc), you have body temperature to deal with, being on the surface at night is a quick way to freeze to death, and so on. also a gamerule that lets snow from weather pile up to 8 layers thick, meaning it just keeps building up because that's enough layers for a full block and thus it's possible to get fully buried in the snow
technically easier as some frozen biomes do generate trees and can spawn animals naturally, and you can get grass if you're lucky. maybe there's a thing where crops can't grow out in the cold, but require sky light, necessitating building a base at least partly on the surface and the construction of what's basically greenhouses for farming?

It'd be kinda cheaty of me to combine the Twigs mod with the Uncrafting Table mod though, because Twigs adds Rhyolite, which is crafted with clay. And chucking it in the uncrafting table would give me clay.

mB stands for millibuckets, named so because 1 bucket is 1000 mB (inspired by the metric system's milliliters and liters, ml and L). As far as I can recall, almost all mods that include measured amounts of fluids tend to use this system. For instance, Tinkers' Construct will melt an ingot of iron into 144 mB or iron.

A (maybe) interesting mod to add is Pollution Of The Realms. Cooking things/animals dying/poor ventilation produces pollution and failing to manage it can cause issues for you. Could just be an annoyance though, use if you feel like it could be fun
You can farm clay by using water bottles on dirt blocks, turning them to mud, and then placing a stalactite underneath. This should
manage to be renewable.
Cause you can also farm water with stalagmites, it’s just gonna take the world’s supply of iron for a bunch of cauldrons.

Also... did you program the wandering trader to not sell saplings? That would be my main way to get saplings in this scenario, lots of options over time as long as you don't mind waiting a bit.
