Thanks for the U boxing and setup, slightly easier for us aussies as there is no crate. Ordered mine in Dec 2021, so looks like another 3 months for me, but who knows what might be added. Went the titan as well, more to future proof the way Terry red is going... Thanks also for the look around your basement, very nice setup. 🇦🇺
Andrew, I just finished watching your unpacking video, we’ll done and thanking for your feedback and experience in moving it it I found it very helpful.
Very beautiful machine! Thanks for the vid 🤗 Was wondering (& I apologize if you mentioned it) but howcome you took out the screen it self, before moving it down into the basement? 😯
@@ChristianKrogh-Denmark I removed the screen so it didn’t get damaged when I stood the machine up on its back to go onto the dolly. In the Version 1.0 XGC cabs, the screen it just resting on the supports that hold it in place. You wouldn’t need to do this on the new 2.0 cabs as the screen is held in place with the tilt mechanism. The other reason is that it makes the cab significantly lighter to move. Please keep in mind, XGC does not recommend standing the machine up the way I did and moving it as you would a traditional Pin. I did this because I have a ton of experience and knew it would be ok at my own risk.
@@andrew21742 Thanks for the answer!💪 I’m from DENMARK, and though it’ll cost a shit-ton, I’m seriously considering buying one of their Virtual pins, cause it truly seems like the best there is! (and you literally get 100’s of different tables on it, so it couldn’t possibly get repetitive/boring. The variety is insane!) I saw your entire video from beginning to end, and you clearly know what you’re doing. At points I honestly got exhausted, lol! I began to question if I could even set it up my self, if I were to buy one 😂 But hopefully I’ll figure it out. I’m no tech-wizzard, so I really love the concept of basically “Plug’N’Play” 🤗
@@ChristianKrogh-Denmark you will find no better quality anywhere that is as easy to to start playing as soon as the legs are on it. And you can’t break the software… if you you some how mess it up, just reboot it and it completely resets back to the original working config.
Awesome video. You vicariously did what I'm gonna be waiting for for another few months - I really can't wait. Thanks for all the insights, definitely helped me planning my transportation already :D
Great video!! How is the pinball machine holding up? Do you get software updates with it? Did you end up picking up their control deck for your mame cab?
VPIN is as amazing as the day I got it. Its built so you can add you own tables and update yourself as needed. XGC will from time to time release an updated drive you can purchase but I’m not sure they have those available at the moment. I did get the Beast Deck, see the other videos on my channel for info on that.
@@andrew21742yeah, I ended up watching all of your other videos. Great stuff! Apparently the wait time is almost a year for a vpin. I’m hoping Jasen over at the us office starts building vpins. They look incredible.
@@Dan-lm4di Jason will only be building the arcades. Darryl has said many times that XGC Vpins will only ever be made in Australia. As Jason is the programmer of the Drives XGC is now using for their arcades it makes sense that he can build the cabs. The Vpins on the other hand are tricky beasts to make work as smoothly as XGC has made them, and I don’t see anything changing that would allow them to be made in the USA.
They call it the Fire/Select/punch it button. It selects in popper, and works with different tables that make use of it. It doesn’t start a game, you add credits using the coin button and then hit the start button to start a game. I don’t remember off the top of my head why it’s mapped to.
Great video Andrew! Trying to fully plan the budget for the purchase but many side step the shipping question. What does shipping the unit cost? $500? $1,000? Do they coordinate everything or do I have to make "3rd party" arrangements?
So, I’ll assume you are in the US. I did air freight, which is more expensive. But in a nutshell, XGC will arrange shipping for you, either by boat or air, your choice. They will provide you with a quote based on the weight and size of the machine you are having shipped. You do not pay XGC for shipping. When your shipment arrives at customs you’ll be contact by the shipper and asked if you have a customs broker. If you don’t have one they’ll assign one for you. (This is what I did) at that point you will get a final invoice from the shipping company/broker that you will pay which will include your shipping, Insurance if you chose that, and import taxes. I believe mine in total was around $3200 but to be fair I really don’t remember and don’t know what I did with the paper work at this point. I did air freight, which is really fast, had my machine in 10-12days, but is $1,200-1,500 more than by boat. Hope this helps.
@@andrew21742 Early in the video around the 12 minute mark you mention how they sent you a Australian power cord. Do they not supply a US power cord for their US customers? Just got done watching this whole video to get a better understanding of this process before I place my order around tax time in early 2023. Yeah I know I will be waiting until 2024 until I get it, but will be worth the wait!
Is there any support from xtreme as far as updating tables or getting new tables? Or is that on you? How is the nudging on the machine? Did you get the 3d ability on this pin? And you said something about VR, are you able to play tables in VR or other VR games on it? I'm asking all these questions because I'm very likely going to go with xtreme and lay a deposit soon for a Premium + all the extras and titan package, very soon.
So the simple answer to all your questions is YES to all of the above. The 3d feature is free. VR is a upgrade add on option, and updated system drives are available for purchase for machine owners, however the machines come with a “duel” system. One that’s locked so you can’t break it, and a second that you can add new tables or update yourself if you like. Hands down it’s the best Vpin in production in the world. That being said, XGC has TONS of videos one their UA-cam page where the questions you ask here are answered in much greater detail, so I would suggest you go check them out. Oh, and nudging works well, but keep in mind XGC doesn’t develop the tables, so “how well” it works can depend greatly on the physics being used by each table creator. The pin event stuff just got huge upgrades and those upgrades would be included on any new machines going out with the 1.7 drive build that’s just being released.
Helpful video, Andrew, thanks. Any chance you have any video of removing the glass and monitor? Trying to decide whether or not to do this to lighten the load. Where did you get the dust cover shown at 47:30?
I don’t have video of that, but it’s very easy… 1) Remover the two screws holding the lockdown bar and slowly work it up and off of the machine. 2) unplug the wires from the select fire punch it button. I labeled mine to make sure they go back on the same way they came off. 3) remove the screw half way up the side rails that hold the glass down. It will be tight but the side rails will now be able to be moved up a little bit to make sliding the glass out easier. 4) remove the stop blocks that are screwed down under where the lock bar was that are holding the glass from sliding. 5) carefully slide the glass down and out of the cabinet. It’s heavier than you think. Set it somewhere safe. 6) open the coin door and reach in under the monitor and push it up about 4-5” and remove the power and video cable. I snapped a picture with my phone so I made sure the video cable was reinstalled back into the same port. 6) continue lifting the monitor out of the cabinet, and set it some where safe. Easier with two people. The monitor just sits on cross bars in the cab, there is nothing to unscrew on it to remove it. It’s a damn near perfect fit. Hope this helps, just reverse the steps to reinstall. For me it lightened the cab about 85 lbs for moving it.
Awesome machine, I ordered mine Sept. 2021 and got a email last week they were ready to start my machine. How long did it take them to do your build? Thanks
I’m not 100% sure, I didn’t know exactly when they started it. If I had to guess I’d say it about 6-8weeks. But I had a hold up with them switching to the new toppers. I think there was some delay as they were trying to get those printed, and I was very happy to wait, so it may have been a little longer, I’m not sure.
16:15 The wiring for the LED does matter. Hooking the wires the wrong way will cause the LEDs not to light. It won't hurt them but the LEDs simply won't light.
Nervous about the shipping? Cost wise, even with shipping it’s a little bit less than what you can buy here in the states. And what you can buy here in the states doesn’t have as many features available, or the level of programming/configuration… meaning you get more for your money. My advice would be, if you think it’s something you really want, go ahead and place your order and put your deposit down so you can grab your place in line. These guys are very popular worldwide and there’s a ton of orders in their pipeline for a reason.
