Gosh, that first story is heart breaking! That dad proves just how far someone will go to protect their family. What a stud! And those evil bastards who committed such horrific and senseless crimes, sitting there on camera, opening the families gifts with such arrogance, they stood no chance against a fathers love for his family.
Honestly, if it was a movie, I'd watch the hell out of it. It's so tragic, what happened, but that father deserves to be recognized for his bravery, cunning, and (literally) undying love for his own.

Just a side note, I read the story about Richard Danziger, the man in the second story who was proven innocent; he's doing great & has a wife, kids, loves to garden & with his millions from the settlement he was able to travel around the world, including Australia where he's always wanted to go. Anyways, he's never told on who beat him so bad that day in prison, the only thing that's known is that he was severely kicked in the head with STEELTOE boots. Now, it doesn't take a genius to know who wears steeltoe boots around the prisons & it's definitely none of the inmates.

I had an African Gray parrot for 30 years. They're very very smart, but they don't pick up conversations that fast. They must have fought alot and Glena had to be abusive to her husband. That bird pick up words and phrases they had to have said to each other lots of times. So she was obviously threatening him for some time. Very sad.
That is one brave and devoted father. He could have laid there in agonizing pain, feeling like there was nothing he could do. Instead he got up and fought for his daughters, despite how badly injured he was. They’ll forever remember him as their hero and the bravest man alive. It’s because of him that they’re alive today.
It’s absolutely horrible that two men went to prison for something they never did and that even though they finally got out of prison. Their lives were permanently ruined. And it’s even more horrible to know this happens more than people think. I know no justice system is perfect but this story is a reminder of exactly why we must continue and never stop working towards at least improving our justice system.
This is why you must always remember: the police aren't your friend and you aren't obligated to speak to them without your lawyer present. Never speak to cops and always lawyer up, ESPECIALLY if you are innocent.
The justice system is working exactly as intended. It was never designed to do justice, it was always about punishing those who people in power wanted to be punished no matter their guilt.
Not to mention they could've been killed, nobody seems to care about the death still being active in some countries. If that person then turns out INNOCENT that judge who deemed them guilt is no better than a murderer.
How many years in prison and brain damage did Detective Hector Polanco receive for false arrest, intimidation, unlawful imprisonment against Chris and Richard, and for aggravated bodily harm against Richard? After all, he was, by and large, an accomplice to the attack on Richard, and the justice system also for acting in concert. It is only when the makers, keepers, and enforcers of law are held accountable for actions that impact the lives of others, that there could ever be any real justice.

Had Joseph not already had a life sentence he probably would've not said anything at all. Only reason he did is because he wasn't ever getting out anyways. The Danziger and Ochoa one is so frustrating. Railroaded right into life sentences just because someone thought maybe they drank a toast to someone that died. Ridiculous; cops just wanted an easy win on that one.
Yes for sure. But stupid Ochoa has helped them. If you wanna ruin your own life, go ahead, but he didn't have to drag his friend down with him, offer a bogus confession on his friend's behalf and ruin his life, as well. I've seen several documentaries on this particular case.
@@needaccount94 i will repeat what I said and you can view it as stupid , I don't give a shit. It's ok if you wanna ruin your own life and incriminate yourself, just yourself. But this fool dragged his friend with him, and as a consequence, ruined his life! If you don't understand how wrong it is, i can't help you. I've seen several documentaries on this and I would feel sorry for Ochoa (yes false confessions happen) if IF he didn't get his poor innocent friend involved.
It isn't even a crime to drink a toast to someone who passed, honoring their memory even if you don't know them is respectful of those who have passed.
Love these episodes, the facts are stated clearly and you define terms or laws for people unfamiliar. True crime right now is really disappointing, since most people leave out things, or add their own theories but present them as facts. Keep up the great work!
This is much more than story time. Your channel has taught me more than “entertained me” You’re a Teacher who just happens to be able to tell a good tale too. Thank you for your knowledge and sharing it with me.
This got to be your best one yet. All the stories are haunting. First one, about the heroic father and how the daughters choose to move on with their lives, heart-warming. Second story, feel so bad for the innocent men being convicted and tortured for a crime they didn’t do. The police officers and offenders who beat the innocent guy, so messed up! Third one, parrots are amazing. She is a coward really, causing all those troubles but didn’t even have the courage to kill herself properly.
A EWU video and That Chapter video both airing on the same day is just what I needed! 🥰 by the way I'm loving the frequency of your uploads and the detail per video, every time I hear the Raven's voice I get giddy lol - one of the best TC channels on UA-cam. If YT screw about with true crime I have little reason to watch this platform any more, you and several other channels are the sole reason I have any interest in staying on here atm. Keep doing the amazing work you're doing EWU 👏 😊
Wow that first story really got to me & I am usually not that emotional about these stories. I think it's because I remember my Mom decorating for Christmas & filling the home with so much love. Also, my Dad was a burn victim& I was in the hospital, deathly ill at the same time. Had he known I was in the same hospital he wldve pulled the wires from himself to be by my side. Im so glad Rolf lived on for some time & that those girls had the strength to forgive (for themselves) & continued to move forward. Idk if I wld be able to rebuild the place where my Mom & Grandma were murdered but the strength that takes is immense & I admire them for that.
I’ve been into true crime since I was 14 (over 10 years ago) but after finding EWU I refuse to watch any other UA-cam crime videos. The Ravens voice is wonderful to listen to, fits the ambiance, and is clear enough to understand without turning on closed captioning. 99% stories are stories I haven’t heard before, which is difficult to come across when you’ve seen enough true crime videos. And the in depth explanations of behavior (especially since I’m a clinical psychology major and love analyzing behavior) are absolutely amazing and greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, I can’t get enough of your videos!!
Rolf has got to be the biggest badass ever. Every girl looks at her Dad as a hero. But it is usually for coming to change a flat tire for them. Rolf was a real life hero. An Avenger.
god bless the family, the girls acted so bravely and their father and uncle as well. i hope they found peace and know that their mother and grandmother are watching over them, proud that they survived.
I love your voice so much! There is so much work and effort put into these videos, I know the victims families appreciate you telling their stories and calling to justice for all of them. Thank you for the uploads ❤️
Father being shot on face clothes burned , pretending dead with that amount of blood loss to silently follow them lately definitely needs a separate documentary on him.
Hands down the best narrator in youtube with JCC´s(tho they stopped sadly) I dont know whos in charge of the channel but keep it up! and never lose this man as your narrator! you/all are incredible!
On the first story The fact that their dad was shot in the face and had fire on and around him and he still pretended to be dead so that he could chase the men and save his kids is amazing! That dad is an awesome father!
I’ve seen a very detailed account of this crime, and the father was severely injured and has been difficult to understand. In the biography he apologizes for this and it is absolutely heartbreaking. Totally heart wrenching.
The way you write these scripts and include actual photos/videos/phone calls make the stories so much more entertaining. Thanks for all the hard work! Addicted to this channel lol
My heart goes out for Chris and Richard💔 especially Richard. We get one life and theirs were totally ruined just because they chose to eat at a certain place and pay respect to the dead.
The second case is just further proof as to why you never speak to the police without a lawyer. Asking for a lawyer is not an admission of guilt. Refusing to talk is not a confession. If these two men would have asked for a lawyer the second they were accused of murder, none of that would have happened.
“Corrupt group” you are acting like most police officers are corrupt lmfao. Why don’t you go and become a police officer since you appear to be the only good one?
I completely forgot how cruel life can really be, not only did that man lose his loved ones, he got shot in the face, to then have to fight fire, and then on to heroically save his daughters with his brother, i can not begin to imagine the fear he must of felt, but then to die of cancer, sheesh that's hard. The only nice thing is that they were all able to be together. But I can't help feel sad for him. A true Hero.
I talked to myself about it as soon as it showed how it ended. I said, "That father is a badass." I agreed with me, and you, he is a badass. Lol I've got a fever so that probably isnt as funny as I feel it may be
Oh my gosh that bird. How smart and traumatized was that bird to take up the whole final conversation and rat her out? Poor thing. Good job little buddy. I’ll give you all the crackers.
Thank you EWU, your channel is one of my favorites, better than anything on actual tv these days! I think casinos should be held liable for the downfall of so many people! It is disgusting how they steal peoples souls and ruin so many families! I work with a guy that has a gambling addiction, he lives in a tiny camp trailer and has lost his vehicle because of his gambling, he is incapable of driving by a casino without stopping, he said a couple weeks ago he actually won $7000 but ended up walking out broke again! I just can’t wrap my head around that! He could’ve bought a new vehicle and improved his living condition with that money but he wasn’t able to leave, I guess that’s why casinos are so rich! They should do something like set half of a persons winning aside and not let them get it for a week or so, maybe by then they’ll come out of the gambling fog and realize how much they need that money! It is so frustrating casinos are aloud to destroy peoples lives without any repercussions! I realize it’s the persons fault for going in the first place but the cops crack down on drug addicts but they allow casinos to destroy just as many people, I personally have only gambled a couple times and have zero interest in it so I just don’t get the appeal 🤷🏼
Deliberating for only 7 min is a big red flag. And WOW what a dad!! Shot in the face set on fire but still went after his babies and got them back!! Amazing. Good parents would do ANYTHING for their children. Anything.

@@terrorsquadlith ......why? they had nothing to do with the false conviction and incarceration of richard, unlike the pig
this channel was one of my biggest motivations to commit to my criminal justice major. i love this channel so much thanks for giving me motivation to do something with myself- especially studying how to help bring justice
@@auzieblo that's a dumb way to view that. You gotta imagine being in that situation
@@auzieblo Same. Richard didn't deserve it at all.
It isn't even a crime to drink a toast to someone who passed, honoring their memory even if you don't know them is respectful of those who have passed.
Never clicked a notification so fast can’t wait to watch the whole episode. Keep up the good work team you make work a little less boring.
Me too!!!!
Same! The parrot repeating the conversation is amazing bit so incredibly tragic.
People always say "I've never clicked so fast" lahs! Damned LAHS! 🙃🤪
@@We_Are_All_Vultures not me the second the notification popped up I clicked right away Lmao
@@bibblydibbly9739 yeah I’ve heard it before but it’s such a crazy story it’s nice to hear a recap
as a student in the law pathway i love watching these documentaries and give me a heads up of things before we actually learn about them lol
That first story 💔 dad was awesome. It sounds like the plot of a Hollywood movie. So glad the sisters found some happiness again ❤️
The 48hrs special documentary on this an hearing the girls talk about there dad was heartwarming.
Love these episodes, the facts are stated clearly and you define terms or laws for people unfamiliar. True crime right now is really disappointing, since most people leave out things, or add their own theories but present them as facts. Keep up the great work!
This is much more than story time. Your channel has taught me more than “entertained me”
You’re a Teacher who just happens to be able to tell a good tale too.
Thank you for your knowledge and sharing it with me.
Thank you. You guys are the first channel, network or person or whatever to explain clearly what aggravated means when I comes to crime.
The first case is absolutely terrifying. My biggest fear is a home invasion/intruder.
Those young girls, and their father, are heroes. ❤️
Mine too 😬😔
Please do a video on the Maguad Siblings case,
Mr Raven.
People liken the horrific case to the horror film, "Orphan".
Let's give it a goo 😉
@@johnbartle2631 I hear you barking big dog
"There's no way to cross examine a parrot."
Phoenix Wright would say otherwise.
I recall several instances in FL where leading questions were asked to a serial confessor just to close cases.
Man the dad in the first story is strait badass
Father being shot on face clothes burned , pretending dead with that amount of blood loss to silently follow them lately definitely needs a separate documentary on him.
Very admirable to mention red flags like you’ve been doing for a long time. Bravo Bruv!
“Lightning never strikes twice in the same location” is a scary saying to live by.
Thank you!! I thought that too 😳😬😬
Considering it's not true at all, lightning hits the same place all the time
Hands down the best narrator in youtube with JCC´s(tho they stopped sadly) I dont know whos in charge of the channel but keep it up! and never lose this man as your narrator! you/all are incredible!
This is the most detailed report of this case I've ever heard. Thank you & bless those survivors.
this is currently my favorite series on youtube. thanks for always putting out great content!
Thank you for continuing to upload even with the issues from youtube.
I know, I hope they’re at least still getting paid for the ads for this channel. I let them all play just in case. They definitely earn it.
Perfect for a Friday night, thanks!
My heart breaks for that poor guy. Absolutely horrible.
But Chris claimed they did it. I feel for Richard, but not Chris
@crystalhenry1018 yeah he can claim it was the cops fault all he wants but he went along with it for YEARS
What is up E.W.U. Crew!!!
Those detectives should be prosecuted for extracting a false confession.
First story should be made into a movie with Liam Neeson as Rolf
YESSSS
The second case is just further proof as to why you never speak to the police without a lawyer. Asking for a lawyer is not an admission of guilt. Refusing to talk is not a confession. If these two men would have asked for a lawyer the second they were accused of murder, none of that would have happened.
Why would a corrupt cop get anyone a lawyer? They are already breaking the law so why not continue to break the law?
THIS DAD IS AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND
Powerful action from a father.
That bird is so smart it’s almost scary, the fact an animal can copy a voice and stuff like that is so terrifying to me.
Crazy to think they can get innocent people to confess to a murder they didn't commit. So much power given to a corrupt group. God bless!
“Corrupt group” you are acting like most police officers are corrupt lmfao. Why don’t you go and become a police officer since you appear to be the only good one?
Rolf is the type of man you’re hoping your man will be if anything ever happens to you. Father of the decade ❤
I so want a parrot now LMFAO 🤣 badass
Dude was shot in the face and burnt. Still came out at the top and saved his daughters. It's amazing what a parent's love can do.
Shout out to the father on the first case he’s a true hero right there
I completely forgot how cruel life can really be, not only did that man lose his loved ones, he got shot in the face, to then have to fight fire, and then on to heroically save his daughters with his brother, i can not begin to imagine the fear he must of felt, but then to die of cancer, sheesh that's hard. The only nice thing is that they were all able to be together. But I can't help feel sad for him. A true Hero.
Excellent presentation. Once again...very informative. I was unaware of "acting in concert." Tragic stories.
‘You can’t cross examine a parrot’ said so seriously had me inappropriately cracking up.
No amount of compensation will make up for lost time spent in prison you can't turn back the clock and relive those lost years.
Hello 👋🏾 EWU fam . !! Here for another Disturbing stories . Showing love to EWU Crew , as Always great 👍🏾 details & the home videos are chilling.
Yesssss!!! Grabbing some wine and enjoying this!!
No one gonna talk about how badass the father is?
Shot set on fire and survives yep that's pretty badass.
@@leejackson7588 right.
I talked to myself about it as soon as it showed how it ended. I said, "That father is a badass." I agreed with me, and you, he is a badass.
Lol I've got a fever so that probably isnt as funny as I feel it may be
@c w literally several people did??
I know right?! What an absolute legend
Oh my gosh that bird. How smart and traumatized was that bird to take up the whole final conversation and rat her out? Poor thing. Good job little buddy. I’ll give you all the crackers.
I thought the same thing. Poor thing must have been so traumatised seeing it all, that it stuck in his memory like that.
I usually watch these kinds of things without batting much of an eye but damn that first one got my crying.
If you are a true crime fan, EWU is the only channel you'll ever need. Excellent content and narration. Seriously great work guys love your stuff!
Just made my night.
Thank you, EWU Crew❤️
Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
hi ewu crew! i was just binging your videos and just saw this one popped up when i went to click on another
Rolf Tiede should be given the world's greatest father ever award
The upload couldn't come at a perfect time. Looking for something to listen into while working. 👌🔥
Get back to work! 😉
Deliberating for only 7 min is a big red flag.
And WOW what a dad!! Shot in the face set on fire but still went after his babies and got them back!! Amazing. Good parents would do ANYTHING for their children. Anything.
I know I’ve never seen a jury make a decision in so little time. Smells very fishy
I cried when I read about the dad o the snow mobile....What a strong and brave man!
"Lightning never strikes twice in the same location" --- That is not only WRONG, but it's also quite a stupid remark in such a situation!
Rolf is a damn hero
"Lightning never strikes twice in the same location." What a wonderful quote coming from a legend.
That's actually false.
Those grey parrots are super smart. I would trust what the bird says.
This channel needs independent sponsors, along with clear communication from team UA-cam in order to survive.
One of the best channels out there 💯💯💯
glad your the one telling all the stories now, your channel will grow FAST
Thank you for the content The Raven and everyone else in the ewu crew love you
Everyone deserves a parent like Rolf. Holy moly
Thank you for explaining what aggravated means. I’ve always wondered that in cases!
"There's no way to cross-examine a parrot" Phoenix Wright would like a word with you
Man, this is horrific. Clearly, all murder is awful, but attacks on seniors is another level of cowardess. May all those who did not make it home rest in peace. Respects and sympathies to the family and friends of the ones who have passed on. May they rest in peace and be remembered forever 🙏
The best true crime channel out there! I've already binged watched all your videos❤️
Have you ever done a story on Linda Lou Charbboneau and her daughter . It happened in Delaware between 2002-2004. Linda was due to get the chair, and her daughter and son-in-law are in prison. Killing both jimmy sprouts and his uncle John Charbboneau, one was buried alive!!!
