- Master of the guitar, Joe Satriani was the proud winner of the Sena Perfomers European Guitar Award 2018. The ceremony took place in Gebouw T in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands, where Joe received his award and played an energetic show. The playlist was: Energy, Catbot, Satch Boogie, Thunder High on the Mountain, Always With Me, Always With You and Summer Song. The band: Joe Satriani - Guitar, Mike Keneally - Keyboards/Guitar, Joe Travers - Drums and Bryan Beller - Bass.

To anybody that says he is just a "technical" guitar player and not an artist are out of they're ever lovin' minds.
Joe is a great technician but above all his feel is what gets us in. There are more technical people out there for sure, but they don't come to within a mile of Joe's powerful emotive guitar work. There's really nobody quite like him.

Satch always still brings out the fan boy in me, that kid who was first mesmerized by his beautiful music and awesome guitar playing always shows up when i see Satch do his live shows... his energy, stage presence, tone, playing, simply amazing... thank you Joe for inspiring me then and now, for making me wanna pick up the guitar... now its my full time profession, and i owe a whole lot to you, my forever guitar hero...

The title "greatest guitarist in the world" sounds unfair because there are 1000's of unique and great guitar players out there around the world. Joe Satriani is a great example of a humble & educated person and an amazing music composer and a rock star live performer. He was and still a role model and an idol to me and to almost every guitarist from the 80's generation. It's good to see him still gets rewarded for his music even after staying 30+ on the road. Thanks to all the organizers of this event and award and thanks to all who put the effort to post this video.

i don`t agree. too many other guitarists on the planet with much more innovation. always the same pentatonic scales, the same sounds, too much focus on virtuosity and it seems, he wants to hide part of his age behind those rediculous permanent weared sunglasses (even on dark stages). just boring to me. and i`m addicted to electric guitars since 40 years. unfortunately no inspiration to me at all.

I'm not only of Joe's vintage, but am also a Joe & have loved his extraordianary skills since he first popped out of nowhere & blew us all away back in the mid 80's.
Will always remember seeing him live touring his "Flying In A Blue Dream" Album, a knockout for it's time and one of the best, intimate live shows I've seen to date ...

The "clean" crispness of Joe's guitar playing is truly magnificent ! Sometimes I hear Jimi, but Joe is so distinctive.I have always loved this sort of virtuoso guitar playing and recently I found out that Joe taught Steve Vai, funny, cos I really don't like Steve Vai . Yeah different strokes hey !

The tones and licks on this vid are truly awesome and second to none imo. The only critique I can make is it's a trifle short, whether more songs were played at the venue on the night I'm not sure, but I thoroughly enjoy this vid Ty!
