Probably the Best and most interesting Bonammasa lineup,
Absolutely...❤
More bass slapping than usual which is not bad at all. Love the bass and percussion in addition to everything else.
Still my absolute favorite Bonamassa DVD to this very day. Young. Hungry. Full of fire and passion. Just great classic blues rock from a stripped down power trio. Music like this gives me hope that rock and roll will never die.
Absolutely.
❤
Damn straight.🤘
Being 71 I thought I heard it all until i heard Joe Bonamassa and this band. Now my smart TV and surround ch. sound will be blasted to smithereens!
LOVE LOUD...xx
Just when I think I might be an actual good Bass Player I run across something like this. This guy doesn't even live on the same planet as I do!
I’ve watched Eric Czar in disbelief for 10 years now. He just has it.
Man he owns that bass from top to bottom
@@OldRedSaab Eric Czar on youtube is a one man band. Unbelievable bass player.
Fucking Awesome! You know it!
There are players that make you want to practice and get better and emulate them. Then there are players that make you want to put the thing in its case and put it in your closet and just forget about it.
I like young Joe, raw and hard-driving, amazing guitar skills,
Love the power of Eric Czar on bass, and Kenny Kramme on drums,
Not perfectly polished..…just delicious PERFECTION!!! ❤️.¸¸.☆
Agreed !
Yes !!
if this isn't perfection you had better go back and study what blues is all about buddy. this is LIVE ... it means invention and improvisation .... and that is perfection. I politely suggest you go purchase his albums. Joe is the greatest at any stage through his career!
@@stephenw3... It seems that we agree. Please read my last phrase very carefully.
For me this was the essence of Joe Bonamassa. I really miss this phase too. No fancy suits or shoes, no background singers, no brass players, only blood, sweat and a rocking Blues Trio that hits right into the face. The real blues is dirty. I really respect him so much and I'm happy for him that he had this great carrer.
I was in Joe's concert March 9 last year(it was in Rockford, IL) and absolutely agree with you that "all that toys like brass, backsingers etc" was - let say - not necessary. Here is a really pure & clear blues which I like so much.
An artist can't to be for ever in the same line, the art change ... the art is an evolution. The real music change and that is a real artist blood. You got the Joe that you wanted thanks to his music on each album, and that is the most precious in the music. Everyone got the Joe that wanted to have, and now he have been changing and maturing day by day in this awesome art, for me, the best (Without desire fight for the comment, I was so clear, for ME!)

Joe has always surrounded himself with fabulous musicians, but this bass player is unbelievable. He's as good on the bass a Joe is on the guitar! Mind blown!
@@joebonamassa1314 . . Joe, it might be time to reach out to Eric and Kenny? That being said, I doubt anyone, even a reunited version of you guys, could do a better job than the three of you did this night in Germany. The number of times I've watched the individual songs here on UA-cam . . well I couldn't count 'em! This is the first time I've sat and watched the whole concert from beginning to end. If we get a power outage before it's finished I'm gonna drink poison! . . LOL
They play off each other !
@@joebonamassa1314, loved you and the band during this era. Saw you twice at Nathan P. Murphy's in Springfield, MO in, I believe 2004 and 2006. Tore the roof off that place!
@@joebonamassa1314 Much love to you Joe!
Eric Czar is a monster!!
Its like he's from another planet and he has come here to show us all how its really done.
My thoughts exactly. Joe is "sent from heaven good"!!! Throw in Eric and Kenny to give you goosebumps. What a trio!!
I miss Joe’s power trio days.
This was pure, and raw.
I respect what he’s doing now with all the horns and backup singers, but this is just so in your face awesome!
I totally agree!!
Completely agree!
I agree!

I get off on bare bones music, and that’s what Joe has here, and it’s superb. 🖤🎶
That bass player. Damn, just damn. I loved the interaction between him and Joe. Amazing.
The Hardest Working Blues Man - Super Joe Bonamassa!
Was soll das noch kommen? Der blanke Wahnsinn. The Guitarman of the Universum!!
Yes ok
@@dietmarosterle8132 nun auf Tour aber ich kämpfe noch mit mir selbst. 160€, dafür machen andere ne Woche Urlaub ^^. bin aber kurz davor zu buchen, der Sound ist einfach göttlich.
This is my favorite live blues concert ever. I've never felt such a wave of emotions from a video, but this is jaw dropping. Joe is amazing, but everyone in this kills it. Just...wow. High energy, low energy when it's slow, and emotional. So raw. I love it.
Fully agree. Another great concert, albeit nearly 50 years earlier, is Rory Gallagher's Irish Tour album from 1974.
ua-cam.com/video/HeuSG5GAFHU/v-deo.html
It's good very emotive and emotional at times especially for a video presentation
Мм
Amen
Say it Again
Best bass player I've heard in years.
Wow! Nothing like getting up on a Sunday morning and cooking while listening to JB play the blues! Fanominal!
Neverever heard anything so fantastic! Your playing is beyond this planet, Joe! 😲😲😳
He’s one of the handful of guitarist that can keep soloing and still have my jaw on the floor and hour later.
I will keep repeating it: this was one of Joe's best concerts ever, and partly because Danny and Eric laid a solid foundation that was unprecedented.
Eric Czar is one of the most underrated bass players I know of.....
Exactly!
Dude I have watched most all of his music here on YT. I agree this was Joe at his best. I have an alternative theory I think this was back in his drinking days... perhaps that was the magic ingredient? If the man cannot handle booze so be it.... but please somebody slip him a mickey lol
Joe got seriously managed shortly after this . At this point he played like his life depended on it . Hungry men make better workers ! Truly an amazing talent , he just keeps getting better
@@jamesbarrick3403 I don't thick it has anything to do with drinking, I saw them (I think it was the same "setup") live one or two years before Rockpalast in Hannover Blues Garage, I was probably 3 m (that would be 3,3 yards) away from Joe, there were maybe 200 people there and they had the same "power" like in Rockpalast.
It was the power of the youth and also the contribution of Eric Czar and Kenny Kramme. In my opinion the rythm section did a lot more than just to lay a solid foundation - there was an "interplay" or maybe "contra-play" between them.
Watching the preview of the upcoming show (rehearsal) I was quite disappointed to see that nor Eric nor Kenny are going to be part of it....I would give a lot to be able to see this trio once again....
Are there any recordings of this trio you can buy?
There is not a single note wrong....this is the music of dr. Joe. I was speechless. Among others, a top drummer and an awesome bassssssist.
Joe's best Band!!!!!!!!! Ever

Bonamassa.Early 90. So mother f good. This concert is at home, on a dvd. Played it so many times.
Figured about 20 years old. Appreciate the placement.
Can you imagine having a mix like this on a resume? Sound engineering genius absolutely required by musicians of this calibur.
I have the DVD of this incredible show. Greetings from Brazil, Joe!
Oh my! Joe I just started listening to your blues music two yrs ago and I am in LOVE! My oh my! 🤟🥴🤟beautiful
❤
Still my favourite gig after all these years - pure dynamite!
Agree, now his stuff is so sterilized.
I was there, in my top 5 best liveshows ever.
@@andrewittebroek9721 I'm jealous you got to feel this in person. I'm curious, what's the other 4 best live shows in your list?
My wife got tickets for Joe B. as a b-day present. 7/22/22 was the show. She was just blown away by the entire show and the incredible guitar work of Mr. Joe but she also mentioned the incredible talents that make up his bandmates. His music reaches me and is exhilarating .
Joe,Kenny & Eric at their best from when I first heard Joe
That Slide playing is second to absolutely no one ever omg that's the Blues 💙💙💙
Joe is my ABSOLUTE favorite blues-rock performer, his voice gives a particular uniqueness to the songs. - Joe's old friend & mentor B.B. King nailed it when he said of the then 12-year old; ''Joe is, _one of a kind!’'_ . . .
John Lee Hooker said of the then 13 year old Joe;
”He’s _fantastic_ good, - he’s _fantastic!_ . . . _Oh,_ what a kid, what a kid!” . . . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Can you, please ^^, named some of his best albums? Thnx ::)
@@cesrlibel396 This is of course only from my 'personal' experience;
''Driving Towards The Daylight''
''Different Shades Of Blue''
''Redemption''
''Royal Tea''
''Dust Bowl''
''Live At The Greek Theatre''
''Tales Of Time'' . . . .
PS: These two tracks are _my_ personal favorites:

I seen this lineup of Joe, Kenny and Eric multiple times back in the day....just awesome!!!
Saw them in club in my town in '05. They left in a Winnebago pulling a small trailer. The next time they came back a few years later, they played a 3,000 seat theater and had 2 semis and 3 tour busses😂
With that strength and that rawness, simple, without arrangements or tricks surprised me 16 years ago. I miss that genuine sound at the beginning. Thanks Joe.

Thank you for laying out the set ...amazing gig to witness
Thanx A LOT
Thank you.
Joe’s Rockpalast version of “If heartache were nickels” is one that’s missing in this set. An older version can be found on YT, tho.
Wish I'd been there...
At this concert. It's what I love,
Intimate surroundings...and GREAT music!
Maybe a glass of wine or two........
Or maybe a cup of Earl Grey with eclairs 😉✨💖✨🤗🤗🤗
Such Rhythm Section is an absolute blessing for any shredding guitarist !!! ... 3 phenomenal musicians indeed !!!
Oh, I have seen it! One of the most finest live concert ever! JOE BONAMASSA IS KING!
I find it hard to believe someone could be so good. Superb live performances. I love Joe as a vocalist or with a singer like Beth Hart, either will do me. As a guitarist, words just fail me.
YES AGREE
The Bonamasa band we grew to love. Pure energy
brilliant. We need this right now. No pretense, no suit - just great music. Who can play that synchronously that fast? AmaZing.
I'm gobsmacked at how many different styles and sounds JB can produce. He rocks ! (literally) 🎵🎵🎸🎸

I thought for a long time why this concert is so good and finally realized that Eric and Kenny play so harmoniously that everyone improvises, in their own way, and complements Joe's improvisation.
Goosebumps marathon of about 90 minutes. A truly epic Live show. This is how it's supposed to be!
Still my favorite concert of Joe... I pull the DVD out quite often....
Z m
The only bass player who has been able to keep up and push JB to the limit. Would be great to see them work together again in a power trio format.
true, Eric Czar is my favorite JoBo bass player
I would like to see him play with the likes of Tal Wilkenfeld ( ua-cam.com/video/Kn2Yvjd5kqY/v-deo.html ) or maybe Travis Carlton
( ua-cam.com/video/OGlsxqOTShc/v-deo.html ), Maybe they're not along the lines of Mr Czar, but I think the combination of these artists, stretching it out in the power trio format like you see here and in the example vids, showing each other's strengths, could and would make for some interesting musical creations...
I couldn't agree more!!
Exactly!
Still my favorite since this crazy era began. Unsurpassed excellence! Pure joy
an hour and a 1/2 of cool tunes , never gets old
Sooooo Freaking True... I keep going back and back and back....
And those guys in the rhythm section, oh my God!
Highly skilled musicians are a joy for me to watch. Fantastic job...all of you. Be well.
One of my all-time favorite live concerts. The power trio days with Kenny and Eric are my favorite JB era, it's simple but powerful. I'm also biased because I got to see basically this exact show two times in one week in a similar tiny room. Wow. There are so many good ones on here but Mountain Time is what I call Joe's Little Wing. I love it. That song gives me goosebumps and quickens my pulse every time and this is my favorite version of it.
This guitar voice is so unique. Joe you're amazing my friend. New fan!
Ein Absolutes Hammer Konzert, hätte es gerne auf CD. Joe Bonamassa ist für mich sowieso einer besten ever 🤘
I'm only like three tunes into this concert and I can tell you right now it's going to be one of my all-time favorites up with Stevie Ray plays the El mocambo with Jimi Hendrix plays berkley Led Zeppelin 1971 Paris Theater can't believe I just found it it's 2021 Joe Bonamassa crank it out brother
This comment just set in stone our new found friendship hahaha. Did we just become best friends? YUP! 🤣🎸🤝
Joe of all the live events, this is still my favorite.
Mine too! This trio performance gives me goosebumps, stirs my soul. My god, wish he'd come to Indiana with that bass player and drummer. I'd be there if I had to crawl.
Three of the best at the top of their game. Fabulous rythym section.
Both setups have their merits and I enjoy both the big band and the trio. As a bassist of 25+ years, I can tell you, however, that I prefer playing in trios. More sonic space to fill, more room for expression, just more fun!
Joe is excellent (as usual), the bass guy is also very impressive as is the drummer. A really hot trio
Never miss a chance to see Joe live it's Awesome
Joe...... Guitar God and a amazing musician. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. You make this a better world to live in.
4/1/21, 8:45 PM EDT - Watching this Rockpalast concert again, waiting for Joe’s ACL show to begin,
Honest to God, that solo at the end of "Mountain Time" here ranks right up there with the GREATEST music of ALL time,
Not just guitar, but any instrument, any style, the BEST the world has to offer!!! Amazing!
Secured tickets for the New Orleans 2023 show, 3 Year anniversary after both waiting 10 years to be together again, then off to Ireland in April for a Vacation. The music is just beyond wonderful... I'm sure the show will be an amazing experience and a great memory for us both.
Take me.....
ONE OF THE BEST POWER TRIO , BRUTAL ,AND I'VE HEARD THEM ALL
OMG. HOW GREAT IS JOE?? AND HIIS BAND.....I'M BLOWN AWAY
JULIE❤
The musicianship in this video is outstanding!
This is my third time having a close listen to Joe and what super backup from the bass this gentleman has reached heights in his work which puts him on a higher level Congrats guys I can see why Joe chose the percussion and bass musicians
Nothing gets better than this! I wish this was still how JB performed and sounded.
When was this recorded?
I saw him in a super small venue when he was touring after the ballad of John Henry came out. Still have a signed vinyl of the ballad of John Henry and always thought that he lost some of his raw energy.
Ferocious. Takin the hit is probably my favorite thing joe has ever done. powerful lyrics too.
What an energy on stage ! This Power Trio took me back directly to late 60's. They are all three simply excellent and what a sound .
Joe your fantastic as always but in my opinion your Bass player you had in this set was by far the best I ever heard play with you please get him back thanks for a great show
Agreed. Joe always has nothing but the best to play with, especially the rhythm sections.
This is my dogs favorite concert. I put it on and they both just listen and smile.
I rememberthe bass-player Eric Czar very well and on Drums Kenny "Ken" Kramme. They touring with Joe in 2004 when I meet Joe and his Trio at first. Pure music at it's best. Back to the roots yeah!
Just discovered this upload,
Sets my soul on fire ❤️.¸¸.☆
The best kind of blues. The kind performed by Joe Bonamassa. He's rocking good.
I bought this dvd. But my dog got to it before I watched it. I think he really enjoyed it. Pity I never got to see it. I forgive him though. He died of cancer 4 weeks ago. RIP Red. Xxx
Sorry man ABOUT red it sounds like a cool name
@@stephengiffith1010 ua-cam.com/users/shorts0PQXL2CYI3o . Thanks. Here he is Knighting my other dog last year.
LarryUK, your comment melted my heart. I loved watching Red bestow knighthood upon his friend and "brother in mischief"!
One can always get a new DVD, but can't get a new Red. May Red rest in peace, knowing that he was very loved and that he was a very good dog.❤️
That first guitar is absolutely gorgeous! Think it's the best finish on a guitar I've ever seen.. Totally belongs in Joe's more than capable hands!
Yes....this guitar is fantastic...i think the corpus is metal/steel?🤔
There was a certain rawness to Joe’s playing @ this point in his career that I miss. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a 12 on a 10 scale, absolutely amazing.
I agree with you. this is the joe I fell in love with & I have enjoyed watching him grow into what he has become.👍🌹
You said what I have been thinking. Joe is the very best of music... and here he is in current time. See him live often if you can. He is a treasure for sure.
Most fun and success I ever had was leading a trio in the 90s. It will make you a much better guitar player and singer in very short time. Guaranteed!!!
Que forma de darlo todo en un concierto. Magistral Joe Bonamassa !!
Accidentally came across this clip, and thank god i did, what a master of the blues, the voice, the guitar, and ,lets not forget the bass player, nuff said, the mans a .legend, i wish i was there to see/feel and embrace that moment in time
OMG! THANK YOU MAESTRO BONAMASSA! Much needed C19 relief! A concert in my living room. He's on my Bucket List fo' sho'!! Keep it Real JB!!
I've been to a few concerts, they were good, I enjoyed them, BUT, "Live at Rockpalast" is better than anything I've ever seen or heard. What a trio!! Talk about goosebumps, rock on Joe B!! Wish these three would reunite!!
This was my introduction to Joe so many years ago. I have always wondered why this wasn't his permanent band. No matter the case, this is the best band he ever played in..
Often songs (of Joe's) have a hint of a great melody from the past. I love it - and I listen for it in every one! 👂 ❤ 🎸 🎤
Freaking awesome, thank you Joe - and the boys. Absolutely mind-blowing performance

I love both the trio and the contemporary appearance of Joe, I've just listened to both. This trio is really an effective, honest, very strong but never hurting music. What is very much the same: the incredible energy that he invests in his performances even then and even now when he is not the same young.
AWESOME JOE BONNAMMASA , GREAT 3 PIECE BAND , 6 STRING BASS ,AWESOME DRUMMER, AND JOE BONNAMMASA LOVE THESE GUITAR PLAYING , YOURE SOUND a nd TONE SOUND AMAZING ,LIKE THIS TRIO YOU GOT IT GOING ON ,HOT and HEAVY 🎸 🎸 🎸 GREAT SONGS YOU CHOSE TO PERFORM ,LIVE 🇺🇸 🇺🇲 🇺🇸
Awesome concert from a man who is one of the most accomplished and hardest working guitarist/vocalists of his or any other generation. John Mayer could take a page out of Joe's book to more consistently perform for concert videos and on UA-cam features. Joe has earned the mantle of 'The People's Guitar Virtuoso'. What a performer!
Well said!!
His best ever performance of Mountain Time Ever never to be repeated as good as this end of Brilliant Joe. He was in his prime I think gone off the rails a bit now 👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍3 piece band again please Joe not all the entourage you have now. Look at the history books 3 was always best in Rock/Blues bands. That solo gets into me so deep. I am 71 so I grew with all this music.
