Still my absolute favorite Bonamassa DVD to this very day. Young. Hungry. Full of fire and passion. Just great classic blues rock from a stripped down power trio. Music like this gives me hope that rock and roll will never die.
My wife got tickets for Joe B. as a b-day present. 7/22/22 was the show. She was just blown away by the entire show and the incredible guitar work of Mr. Joe but she also mentioned the incredible talents that make up his bandmates. His music reaches me and is exhilarating .

With that strength and that rawness, simple, without arrangements or tricks surprised me 16 years ago. I miss that genuine sound at the beginning. Thanks Joe.

I was in Joe's concert March 9 last year(it was in Rockford, IL) and absolutely agree with you that "all that toys like brass, backsingers etc" was - let say - not necessary. Here is a really pure & clear blues which I like so much.

One of my all-time favorite live concerts. The power trio days with Kenny and Eric are my favorite JB era, it's simple but powerful. I'm also biased because I got to see basically this exact show two times in one week in a similar tiny room. Wow. There are so many good ones on here but Mountain Time is what I call Joe's Little Wing. I love it. That song gives me goosebumps and quickens my pulse every time and this is my favorite version of it.

I will keep repeating it: this was one of Joe's best concerts ever, and partly because Danny and Eric laid a solid foundation that was unprecedented. Eric Czar is one of the most underrated bass players I know of.....
Dude I have watched most all of his music here on YT. I agree this was Joe at his best. I have an alternative theory I think this was back in his drinking days... perhaps that was the magic ingredient? If the man cannot handle booze so be it.... but please somebody slip him a mickey lol
Joe got seriously managed shortly after this . At this point he played like his life depended on it . Hungry men make better workers ! Truly an amazing talent , he just keeps getting better
@@jamesbarrick3403 I don't thick it has anything to do with drinking, I saw them (I think it was the same "setup") live one or two years before Rockpalast in Hannover Blues Garage, I was probably 3 m (that would be 3,3 yards) away from Joe, there were maybe 200 people there and they had the same "power" like in Rockpalast. It was the power of the youth and also the contribution of Eric Czar and Kenny Kramme. In my opinion the rythm section did a lot more than just to lay a solid foundation - there was an "interplay" or maybe "contra-play" between them. Watching the preview of the upcoming show (rehearsal) I was quite disappointed to see that nor Eric nor Kenny are going to be part of it....I would give a lot to be able to see this trio once again....
@@dietmarosterle8132 nun auf Tour aber ich kämpfe noch mit mir selbst. 160€, dafür machen andere ne Woche Urlaub ^^. bin aber kurz davor zu buchen, der Sound ist einfach göttlich.
I rememberthe bass-player Eric Czar very well and on Drums Kenny "Ken" Kramme. They touring with Joe in 2004 when I meet Joe and his Trio at first. Pure music at it's best. Back to the roots yeah!
Both setups have their merits and I enjoy both the big band and the trio. As a bassist of 25+ years, I can tell you, however, that I prefer playing in trios. More sonic space to fill, more room for expression, just more fun!
A few years ago I saw Joe with T. M. Stevens on bass in a small club in Dortmund, in old Dominicil. Great concert. Let's get rid of Corona and we hope to be looking forward to wonderful, insane concerts soon. Rock On !!!!

Mine too! This trio performance gives me goosebumps, stirs my soul. My god, wish he'd come to Indiana with that bass player and drummer. I'd be there if I had to crawl.
When was this recorded? I saw him in a super small venue when he was touring after the ballad of John Henry came out. Still have a signed vinyl of the ballad of John Henry and always thought that he lost some of his raw energy.

Exactly!
this is orgasmic ...wish joe goes back to a Power Trio and invites me to watch and live it heah.. your right never goin' to happen
I will keep repeating it: this was one of Joe's best concerts ever, and partly because Danny and Eric laid a solid foundation that was unprecedented.
Eric Czar is one of the most underrated bass players I know of.....
Exactly!
Are there any recordings of this trio you can buy?
I thank God every day or I grew up listening to Bonamassa... I hope to play guitar with this master, until then I'll practice.
The Hardest Working Blues Man - Super Joe Bonamassa!
Was soll das noch kommen? Der blanke Wahnsinn. The Guitarman of the Universum!!
Yes ok
@@dietmarosterle8132 nun auf Tour aber ich kämpfe noch mit mir selbst. 160€, dafür machen andere ne Woche Urlaub ^^. bin aber kurz davor zu buchen, der Sound ist einfach göttlich.
I rememberthe bass-player Eric Czar very well and on Drums Kenny "Ken" Kramme. They touring with Joe in 2004 when I meet Joe and his Trio at first. Pure music at it's best. Back to the roots yeah!
That Slide playing is second to absolutely no one ever omg that's the Blues 💙💙💙
That first guitar is absolutely gorgeous! Think it's the best finish on a guitar I've ever seen.. Totally belongs in Joe's more than capable hands!
Yes....this guitar is fantastic...i think the corpus is metal/steel?🤔
Both setups have their merits and I enjoy both the big band and the trio. As a bassist of 25+ years, I can tell you, however, that I prefer playing in trios. More sonic space to fill, more room for expression, just more fun!
Oh yeah, this is down and dirty in th best possible way, stunning to the core!
A few years ago I saw Joe with T. M. Stevens on bass in a small club in Dortmund, in old Dominicil. Great concert. Let's get rid of Corona and we hope to be looking forward to wonderful, insane concerts soon. Rock On !!!!
Perfection. Just wonderful to watch and listen to....Bless you all. Thank you.
Still my favourite gig after all these years - pure dynamite!
Agree, now his stuff is so sterilized.
I was there, in my top 5 best liveshows ever.
@@andrewittebroek9721 I'm jealous you got to feel this in person. I'm curious, what's the other 4 best live shows in your list?
ONE OF THE BEST POWER TRIO , BRUTAL ,AND I'VE HEARD THEM ALL
This was my introduction to Joe so many years ago. I have always wondered why this wasn't his permanent band. No matter the case, this is the best band he ever played in..
Joe,Kenny & Eric at their best from when I first heard Joe
Freaking awesome, thank you Joe - and the boys. Absolutely mind-blowing performance
In the name of all those before him, he deserves to be among immortal kings of Blues and so these two brilliant musicians. Greetings from Croatia.
The musicianship in this video is outstanding!
This, Rockpalast Watch Party celebrating Joe Bonamassa's ACL Live concert on 04/01/2021, is all most too much for me! Sooo good touch & feeling!!! I Just Love It!!!🥰
I love Joe. I miss Eric Czar. I hope to see him again someday. Until then, prayers.
Egy hatalmas zenei csemege. -
Egy magas minőségű Blues - Rock formáció!Tanítani kellene a zenei tagozatokon!!!!!
J Bonamassa eddig is a kedvenceim között volt. Ma egy örök érvényű másfél órával ajándékozott meg. Zenésztársairól kizárólag a legmagasabb szinten tudnék beszélni!
Köszönöm a perceket .
joe my god. you blast my brain into space.thanks sooo much! greats from austria!!!
Ferocious. Takin the hit is probably my favorite thing joe has ever done. powerful lyrics too.
Three of the best at the top of their game. Fabulous rythym section.
Joe of all the live events, this is still my favorite.
Mine too! This trio performance gives me goosebumps, stirs my soul. My god, wish he'd come to Indiana with that bass player and drummer. I'd be there if I had to crawl.
Joe is excellent (as usual), the bass guy is also very impressive as is the drummer. A really hot trio
I have so much appreciation for Smokin' Joe, he's such an incredible talent - inspirational!
Agree!
Great band format..stripped and hard...glad this video popped up.
Nothing gets better than this! I wish this was still how JB performed and sounded.
When was this recorded?
I saw him in a super small venue when he was touring after the ballad of John Henry came out. Still have a signed vinyl of the ballad of John Henry and always thought that he lost some of his raw energy.
I saw this lineup I believe it was 2007 and I was never so happy. Raw and simple.
