Documentary about formation, career, excess, women and end of the band. Keep rockin! Documental sobre la formación, influencias, trayectoria, excesos, mujeres y fin de la banda.
I bought that whole lotta love single .When it came out I was just a kid- didn't have enough money to buy the album - I must have played it at least 500 times up in my bedroom on my little portable record player.
Saw them at the old Masonic Temple ( Toronto, ON ) the, world famous, " Rock Pile ". Summer of 69 I believe or the fall of that year. Only 300 to 400 people. Sat in the upper balcony the only balcony I think went like a horseshoe around the lower level. Looked down on the band from their stage left. One of the most thrilling and dynamic shows ever. Thanks for the memories.
Houses was, is and will always be my favorite. The band had released 4 previous albums and i think Houses was the album where they said fuck expectations....let's do this one for us...brilliant....
this was my generations music. i always get a kick out of people decades later talking about how zeppelin, ac/dc, black sabbath, aerosmith, hendrix, santana, grand funk railroad, etc. is "their" music. i had long moved on just as everyone else was just getting caught up, (the pathetic ones being my own age). there was tampa radio station in the 1990's that opened up with only playing zeppelin music for a week, and would year after year name 'stairway to heaven' as the greatest song ever.
NONE of it is mediocre! III with Immigrant song and Since I've been Loving You, Physical Graffiti with Kashmir, Presence with Achilles, and In Through the Out Door with In The Evening and Fool In the Rain... All of it is absolutely mind-blowing.
Rock n Roll used to be one of my favorite Zep songs, but Cadillac ruined that for me years ago.. Page understands that keeping their music "in the vault" maintains it's integrity over the long haul, very thankful he is so protective of their library, it is after all the best rock and roll ever and deserves that kind of treatment. Page has always had incredible taste in every thing he does with Zep, and I admire that about him. Who knows what Atlantic will do once he is gone...
Page gave the license to GM, but I'm certain he didn't know they would butcher it into whatever it turned into in the commercial, that's why Page hated singles cuts because the music needs to be listened to as a whole, not saying you're wrong just saying Page is giving the music, for the most part, the proper treatment it deserves. Haven't seen anymore Zep music licensed since.
They say in this that there wasn't a band that wanted to play in front of them but they had Grand Funk as their warm up band and Led Zeppelins manager threw them off stage because they were blowing out Led Zeppelin.
Just look at it this way i was born in 82 and my Generation still considers Led Zeppelin the greatest Band of all time .There was nothing Mediocre about anything they did they changed music and the way people played it .
@AirAssault7 tool is a perfect band and my fave. they also use the fibonacci sequence in thier music as well as occult symbols to bring, like i said things that we don't know everything about and never really will. on another note do you know anything about chemtrails air assault7?
Is the music played over this doc actually led zep? I don't know much past their fourth album, but I don't recognise any of this backing track... just seems to be snippets of generic live rock music...
Funny they don't mention that Led Zeppelin opened up for The Who in '69 - at least for one date 'cause I was there, Columbia, MD. Yeah, they were great, but The Who took it to another level. Ticket price: $5.50.
Yes, "Nobody's Fault But Mine" is a standout Led Zeppelin song. However, it was long, and not too radio friendly. Furthermore, Glam rock was at its height, Progressive Rock was waning, and Punk rock was exploding. All of this, in combination with poor marketing, and a bad conceptual cover, made for a hard sell. So, what did I say that was the opposite of the truth? Remember, I love the album. This is not revisionist history, but just the facts in response to an earlier comment.
there was only one Led Zeppelin, and there will never be another….and they were the greatest because of "magic" in their music, personalities, position of the planets, the drug culture, and yes the occult. but don't worry alot of things have association with the occult- including the U.S. government, the Vatican, and you name it, it's there.
You're kidding, right? He's got a dollar more than God. I don't make any judgment, I'm glad he didn't license his music willy-nilly. Cadillac was the first company I ever notcied using his music. Come to think of it, GM snagged a lot of classic rock music - Aerosmith, The Who, Zep, T-Rex.
Presence is a great album; no doubt about it. The problems with the album are a lack of a stand-out song or potential single, and a very bad concept cover. Having said that, it would be considered a classic by today's standards if it were by any other band.
Er MUFC127 - if you think Zeppelin invented heavy rock, try Jeff Beck's album Truth released well before Led Zep 1. And sounding somewhat similar, cough.
You're right. I was really freaked...... that people waste their bloody time doing such juvenile bollocks!!! I wouldn't ride your BMW unless you decorated it with Satan's horns....
Zeppelin was the perfect storm of power, blues and hard rock.
I bought that whole lotta love single .When it came out I was just a kid- didn't have enough money to buy the album - I must have played it at least 500 times up in my bedroom on my little portable record player.
the freedom they had.... play it " different"/ " my way"...and they stood by it instead of commercial....
I respect that
Saw them at the old Masonic Temple ( Toronto, ON )

The very first album I owned was Zeppelin I. I can still remember the first time I listened to it. What a group, great artists of music.
3:50 I love plant's look
Zeppelin will always remain one of the top hard rock bands, maybe even the best imo.
To me , personaly , Led Zeppelin is the Best Rock music EVER !
They are Unforgetable !!
The True Kings Of Rock !
Houses was, is and will always be my favorite. The band had released 4 previous albums and i think Houses was the album where they said fuck expectations....let's do this one for us...brilliant....
Peter Grant was the best. Telling the manager of the Riot House to smash a room on them, lol. I wish I could have met him!
Led Zeppelin still lives in their music and in our hearts, and may they one rejoin, those that remain, to relive a bit of the magic akin to the past.
every song on every album is awesome,
part 3 of 6 was hard to see on my pc but the sound was awsome...I grew up on listening to Led Zeppelin...THEY KICKED MAJOR ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
these guys were living fucking gods in the 70,s!!! wow, i wish i was there!!!
this was my generations music. i always get a kick out of people decades later talking about how zeppelin, ac/dc, black sabbath, aerosmith, hendrix, santana, grand funk railroad, etc. is "their" music. i had long moved on just as everyone else was just getting caught up, (the pathetic ones being my own age). there was tampa radio station in the 1990's that opened up with only playing zeppelin music for a week, and would year after year name 'stairway to heaven' as the greatest song ever.

It was an album of, mostly songs that didn't make it on to the first five albums, just to make a double album. Which was the style at the time.
Agreed. If I could only have one Zep album, it would be that one because it shows their diversity!
Led zeppelin best rock group all time
If you like Led Zeppelin you should check out a band from Canada call Offenbach also check out a band from Detroit called bloodrock
Rock n Roll used to be one of my favorite Zep songs, but Cadillac ruined that for me years ago.. This is a good doc, but the background music really sucks. Guess they couldn't get the rights to use any Zep tunes.
they say Sgt pepper is the greatest rock album ever but in my opinion it is led zeppelin 1.
Thanks for the post! Peace!
I believe the all four were wizards using magic to create music. No human being can make such an awesome music like Led Zeppelin!
Yea seriously and you cant forget The Rain Song which is my favorite zeppelin song.
Physical Graffiti is also just SO good.
True. All of Mt. Everest is great, but only those who reach the peak or die trying are memorable. Kashmir was the peak.
...I just new more people would know about Kashmir than any other. you're right, though. My personal fav is In The Light :]
They say in this that there wasn't a band that wanted to play in front of them but they had Grand Funk as their warm up band and Led Zeppelins manager threw them off stage because they were blowing out Led Zeppelin.
@Nigelxman I have a sneaking suspicion Page, Plant, and Jones would all wholeheartedly agree with you, actually!
Love watching this! I just wish i knew what that piece of background music is at 5:01
richard cole looks very much like billy joel.
Just look at it this way i was born in 82 and my Generation still considers Led Zeppelin the greatest Band of all time .There was nothing Mediocre about anything they did they changed music and the way people played it .

Its too bad you don't hear any Led Zeppelin music in this documentary...
That B.S. about the selling their soul's to the devil is ludacrious! Led Zep is # 1 Rock band eva~
7:26 I think they filmed a scene for "Spinal Tap" there. I swear to god they did.
Notice, very little Zep music used in the videos. Page is notoriously tight-fisted with copyrights.
8:50 YES!!!
where did you get this? Its great!!!
Why throughout the whole doc did they not play any Zep tracks for the background music?
Funny they don't mention that Led Zeppelin opened up for The Who in '69 - at least for one date 'cause I was there, Columbia, MD. Yeah, they were great, but The Who took it to another level. Ticket price: $5.50.
It is epic!
There was no rock music before Led Zeppelin.
why no music is heard in the documentary, no rights cleared?
Yes, "Nobody's Fault But Mine" is a standout Led Zeppelin song. However, it was long, and not too radio friendly. the thing jimmy knows about the devil or occult that people don't know is that its not all negative and you can gain from it.
there was only one Led Zeppelin, and there will never be another….and they were the greatest because of "magic"
in their music, personalities, position of the planets, the drug culture, and yes the occult. but don't worry alot of things have association with the occult- including the U.S. government, the Vatican, and you name it, it's there.
@soweyesee The Question of Balance. That's alchemy for ya. Tool uses that in their music as well.
Bite your tongue! Don't forget about Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti.
The sliding, naked girls was a great story.
Im sorry, is this a Zep Documentary or are we watching "The Carmine Appice Experience?"
if you saw led zeppelin in a small club you're lucky I'm 40 never got to see them
@MUFC127 there WAS rock n roll in the 50s and 60s mind you, but no hard rock, that's where Led Zeppelin comes in.
@axlslash808z I'm sure it's because LZ wouldn't let grant them the license, or the film-makers couldn't afford it.
Robert plant at 3:50 reminds me of Billy Connolly. Billy stole his look the bastard. ha ha jokin i love Billy.
knowledge of the will
3 dislikes? Go listen to Bobby Freakin' Sherman then!
If some of these stories seem crazy, go and check out Ozzy's documentary.
First! Zep rules!
"black magic" ... aleister would be pleased.
Cadillac?GM didn't ruin it for you- PAGE did. He allowed it to be used. But I imagine he owns a bunch of Caddys, and likes them.
haha inverness castle! that 'castle' is about the same size as ma house!
Overlaptastic.
" We know what we done just give us the bill " ...... then the hotel clerk smashes up a room.
In MY opinion ( feel free to disagree ) Houses is my favourite Zep album :)
best Fuckn band ever
@forreal496 Yeah but it wasn't heavy. What we know as classic rock really began with Zeppelin. Matured with Sabbath and perfected with AC/DC.
@MUFC127 there was but led were awesome
keith moon, bonham and neil pert... or anyone else you wanna throw in the mix...??? who the hell do you put at number 2????????
They don't mention that later they threw Grand Funk off their tour for blowing them off the stage.
according to who VH1? zepplin is far better than GFR i call bs
Who? Who are they in their spare time?
Quite possibly just music made by session players hired for this documentary.
It could be a real song I guess.
@MUFC127 uh, yeah there was....
John Bonham Is The Best Drummer That Ever Lived. He Has More Talent In His Piss Than The Rev Has In His Whole Body.
3:49 is the second comming of Jesus haha
@WhatsAscope I sure do bro.
he was some maniac and that is all
The Ocean.
You're kidding, right? He's got a dollar more than God.

4:00 - BIG hair! lol

Arkansas Razorbacks / Texas Tech 1969 ? @8:11
@MUFC127
Don't get me wrong, I love me some Zep, but you're neglecting a hell of a lot of influence.
And remember kiddies the Crowley legend is far more interesting then the actual man.
Er MUFC127 - if you think Zeppelin invented heavy rock, try Jeff Beck's album Truth released well before Led Zep 1. And sounding somewhat similar, cough.
@WhatsAscope Not me man.
@MUFC127 Well the Beatles were great aswell :)
Almost every song on Physical Grafitti is great why do people only mention Kashmir
@axlslash808z Royalties.
@ 2:34 Bullshit!! Think Hendrix!
4 people are Jimmy's Page unrecognised former girlfriends
Carmine Appice should check his ego !!
agree but i think physical graffiti is very mediocre. there a few good songs but many throw away songs on it.
@xGnr4life Manchester United Football Club.
Something about the way they were, they dont seem like normal humans.
@cfcdan123 Really.
You're right.
I was really freaked......
that people waste their bloody time doing such juvenile bollocks!!!
I wouldn't ride your BMW unless you decorated it with Satan's horns....
Houses of the holy is a fucking good album, but it's not hard rock as their firsts album.
