What is the spec of m3 max?
How many RAM do u usually use on your workflow ?
I went with the highest cpu and GPU that are offered for the 14 inch. I then went with the 64Gb Ram but probably would have been fine with 48. I also went with 4Tb but probably could have done 2Tb. I really did not want to have to worry about a ton of external hard drives for daily use. I went with higher with the hopes that I would not upgrade for 3 to 5 years!. Overkill for sure.
Btw using exfat on your external drives is supposedly dangerous and apparently it's better to use windows or macos file system and then have software to open it on the other. I'm trying to switch away from exfat myself currently but all my external drives are exfat rn.
You have peaked my curiosity. Why is exfat dangerous?
@@BrianTheCameraGuy I don't know the nitty gritties but essentially it is more at risk of corrupting your data than 'journaled' file systems. If you search it a lot of info comes up.
Ok, that makes a lot of sense. Since I bought this computer, I have also bought a NAS system that I can access files from anywhere in my house. I can also access when I am on the road as well. Do you find those videos interesting?
Great video. What are the exact specs of your 14 inch MacBook Pro m3 max? I know you said you got the higher cpu and gpu but what other options did you get?
I ended up going with the 14 inch higher cpu and GPU. I then went with 64Gb of ram eventhough 48 would have been enough. I then went with 4Tb of storage. Probably could have gone with 2 but did not want to deal with external drives unless I was moving to long term storage.

@Rastabuoy25 again this was probably overkill but was thinking 3 to 5 years out before I would want to upgrade.
