    Love the videos! Great dog work and that INCLUDES the dog roading in on a that running covey of birds 60-70 yards out. Question: how do you ensure that the camera is pointing where you need it to versus having slid down too far or pushed up/back too far?

    As always, entertaining and beautiful dog work and scenery. I would dearly love to hunt some of the areas you have been to. Age and monetary status has put a stopper on that, but you take me there in your videos.
    Have recommended your channel to friends to show them what the west is truly like. Spent four years at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho and chased Valley Quail, Pheasants, and ONE Sage Grouse.
    Question: Ever consider a double barrel? You seem to mostly shoot only twice. Most doubles are lighter than your auto and you get the benefit of two chokes if you want.
    I'm running 16 and 28ga side by sides and I love the light weight for these six-plus decade tired old bones.
    Have fun and stay safe.
    Thank you!

    Hello. I love the footage and the dog work. I am a long time upland hunter, this will be my 27th season pursuing upland game and it never gets old. I have a very fine GSP that has hunted birds all over the country and i was wondering what region your Montana sage grouse hunts were in. I have hunted several times around Fort Peck-Wolf Point area but never saw a sage grouse. I plan on going back to MT in the next 2 seasons . The only 4 native bird species I have left to harvest are Sage Grouse, Prairie Chicken, Ptarmigan and Valley Quail. I also want to do a dedicated Chukar trip at some point but thats a whole other story. Keep up the quality hunting and thanks for sharing with us.

    We've received more rain so far in 2022 than I've seen in 25 years. Deadly and damaging floods in Montana of all places. We'll see what it did with the birds in a few weeks. Not been seeing as many Sharpies and Pheasant along the roads as I usually do so hope that isn't a bad omen.

    Another great video. As someone who is going to Wyoming to hunt sage grouse for the first time do you do any snake training or snake vaccines when you're hunting in areas where snakes are around? What's your methods of handling this. Thanks for another great video.

    • @ericforrester1
      @ericforrester1  Рік тому

      I don’t do any snake preparation except have some Benadryl in my pack. IMO, the main thing is stay out of the areas that look “snakey”-prairie dog towns, rocky areas, etc. That said, I think snake avoidance is a good idea and definitely educate yourself on the signs of a snake bite.
