Ranchers use that for the cows.. they walk under it and the stuff inside gets in their backs … it’s usually some kind of fly/bug deterrent Great video!
Oh mannnn I'm in love with Rigs This boy is extra ordinary talented guy Releasing birds in your hands are next level You are a good trainer too man I really enjoyed each bit of this Rigs episode Once again nice shooting Eric 👍
Looks like great hunting. I’m always entertained by your enthusiasm for the dogs. Im a bird dog guy, but it’s more because of my love of the birds. I get way more pumped about them and their habitat than my dogs. Just shows there is something to love about it for everyone
you definitely have put some good work with these dogs other than having a nice breed I’m sure you are happy to see the fruits of your long job Hope the best for you as always i never get tired of these videos the best channel of overland so far
Just watching this while enjoying a meal of Common Snipe aux champignon a la creme together with my springer spaniels, who love it, good dishwashers too (hint hint😂). Cant tell you how much I enjoy your vids. Keep up the good work. Br 🦧🐶🐶&🐶
Watching this on my way to MT now. Last year after we got deer we were bird hunting and my cousin had a yotie at 5 yds in a bush and it wasn’t afraid at all.
As always great dog work the pups are doing better than I have seen 4 year old dogs do rigs set birds in one part off heavy cover where there was a big flush you shot one he retired it quick as he code he literally true the the bird to you and back in because he new more in there quick set and second bird down class thanks for sharing Eric as always great work can’t wait to see more 🇮🇪
I'm in the process of training my first bird dog, a GSP, and I watch these videos with hopes of being able to do some of these adventures myself. Unfortunately, I started late in life and living on the east coast doesn't provide a lot of opportunities for wild bird hunts, except for some occasional farms with quail down south. These are some of the best upland hunting videos around - even better than some of the stuff I see on the Outdoor channel!
Man I love watching your dogs work young and old they know how to lock them down it’s the next best thing too actually getting to hunt hoping to be able to get back on some hunts next year have not been able to go in a couple of years with work but you’re videos help to keep the fire going
That's a cattle back rubber. The fluid in it keeps flies off them. Mixture of diesel, usually. There are many different types. We usually have ours in gateways so they get a lil dose every time they pass through.
Those two pups were on fire! Your selective breeding program is off the charts, and it's producing some exceptional dogs. How do you determine which dogs to breed, and are you breeding with other dogs around the country? I'm just blown away by the talent you're producing!
Thank you. A lot goes into determining which dogs to breed but talent is at the top of my list. Yes we breed to the best dogs we can find all over the country. 👍
I enjoyed your show. I used run bird dogs and always trained them to stand steady to wing and shot and only retrieve to hand on command. That way the chances of shooting the dogs was non existent. My dogs never had problems finding downed birds.
Wondering what shot size you've loaded? Hard to judge distance in the site pictures, but seems to be a lot of feathers at times. Great sportsmanship in passing on longer shots, and picking best killing shots on covey rises. Videografhy exceptional!
Just curious, how do you preserve/keep fresh your birds while on the road? I wouldn’t think they would keep for a week or more just in ice in a cooler.
You don't know how lucky you are, We are suppressed and deluded it is a free country in Britain, the bunny hugging fraternity are always on our back's, I have a pointer she provids me with entertainment twice a day every day best I've ever had unfortunately won't have time for another , don't want to die and leave a dog behind,, you have some good dogs pal
I have custom kennels I made. They have open sides and I can open the side windows on my camper shell. I also have a fan if needed but I only need it while driving in traffic.
I suppose it depends on what you hunt most. The 20 is sweet and is ideal for 80 percent of what I do. But I like having my 12 when hunting Chukar in the steep stuff.
Cattle will rub against that and an oil will come out on those bristles. It helps prevent flies from biting the cattle as much.
Ranchers use that for the cows.. they walk under it and the stuff inside gets in their backs … it’s usually some kind of fly/bug deterrent
Great video!
You are still the best at upland bird hunting videos, Eric. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Rich!
Oh mannnn

You are a good trainer too man
I really enjoyed each bit of this Rigs episode
Once again nice shooting Eric 👍
The young dogs are on fire, such natural talent. Great job.
Thank you!
Cattle oiler. Diesel w/insecticide. Keeps the flies off helps prevent pink eye. Love the videos.
Tubbs is a rockstar!!! That dude does it all!!
Some phenomenal younger dogs - they're machines!
That funny position and relocation with Riggs was awesome

Love seeing the progression in dogs, awesome to see the next generation taking charge.

Thank you! 👊
Love your content, me and my daughter watch it all the time!
Thank you!
Really nice pups
That was a fly oiler for cattle. Ranchers fill reservoir with repellent and the cattle walk through it to apply the repellent to their face and back.
Great video!

Grande filme como sempre. Parabéns pelos excelentes cachorros.
4:35 looks kind of back scratcher for rams or deers
Still watching ;)
Will comment later on vid
What choke size are you using? Makes my day to find a new video from you. I’m headed to MT in 2 weeks.
I like open chokes. Skeet or IC.
I enjoyed your show. I used run bird dogs and always trained them to stand steady to wing and shot and only retrieve to hand on command. That way the chances of shooting the dogs was non existent. My dogs never had problems finding downed birds.

Thank you. I was shooting 7.5 target loads.
Hey Eric you mentioned that scenting conditions were really bad on one of the mornings you hunted. What makes scent conditions good vs bad?
Two questions Eric. Do the wirehairs shed much? What type of choke are you using in this video? Enjoy your videos a bunch.
Wirehairs don’t shed that bad but they do shed.
I had a tighter choke in than I prefer. I like open chokes for early season.
Love your vids. Been kinda slow so far this year
For our season i mean
Fly control for cattle .
Most ranchers use diesel fuel to soak their rubs.
I'm really enjoying all of your videos, what gauge and brand of shotgun are you using?
Great video! What is your GoPro shooting settings? Wide?
4K 60. Wide.
Just curious, how do you preserve/keep fresh your birds while on the road? I wouldn’t think they would keep for a week or more just in ice in a cooler.
I eat many of them. I have a small fridge/freezer for the rest.
You don't know how lucky you are,

Very true, thanks!
Love your videos but could you tell me how you keep your dogs cool in the back of your truck in 80 deg weather? Thanks.
I have custom kennels I made. They have open sides and I can open the side windows on my camper shell. I also have a fan if needed but I only need it while driving in traffic.
Eric I’m going to be getting a new Benelli Ethos, would you recommend the 20g or 12g, and why. Thanks so much
I suppose it depends on what you hunt most. The 20 is sweet and is ideal for 80 percent of what I do. But I like having my 12 when hunting Chukar in the steep stuff.
Hi, I'm a fan from Italy. I have a curiosity, why do you often encounter pheasants and never shoot them?
They were not in season when I filmed this. 👍
Awesome video , what handheld and collar combo you running. Thanks!!
I was sent a Garmin Alpha 300 this year. I have always had 100s before.
@@ericforrester1 awesome, I really want the pointing alert function
hey man what kind of cartridge do you use on these hunts?
and on the chukar hunts?
Just target loads for the prairies. For Chukar I use a high brass 5 or 6.
Hey Eric. What collar system is that your using?
Garmin Alpha 300i
Do you snake break your dogs? I know your kennel is in Indiana where there isn’t many snakes.
Nope.
do you sell started or finished dogs they are awesome and there is nothing like a great bird dog thank you
We sell started dogs occasionally. Ghostpointwirehairs.com
What action camera are you using?
GoPro 11
Eric what vest do you use? Looking to buy a new one and I trust your opinion more than anyone else
I run a Final Rise. Great vest.
#finalrise
I'd like to enter the 460 Rowland in a G21 into the conversation. Glock capacity with damn near 44 magnum ballistics.
Eric, the wife and I are heading west in November. Could we visit your kennel.
You are welcome to if I’m home but I’ll be on the road most of the month. Feel free to contact me through our website if you’re interested.
What gun/gauge/ammo were you using? Thanks!
I had my Ethos 12 with target loads.
It's to keep flies off of the cattle
Is it difficult to teach them to go under the barbed wire safely? They seem to do a nice job there.
No need to teach. They figure it out on their own. 👍
Bom dia amigo Eric sou do Brasil Adoro seus vídeos, gosto de caçar também mas por aqui no Sul do Brasil a vegetação é diferente muito perigoso Abraço
What setting is your GoPro on if ya don’t mind my asking
4K 60 wide
Rasgele erick kardeş turkiyeden selam rasgele
what are sharptalis and huns excuse the ignorance
Sharptail grouse and Hungarian Partridge
That point at 6:35 was something to behold.
Yes, coyotes are potential dog killer. Just give em a chance. With the locating systems these days, not really as real as it used to be.
Not being steady to wing scares the heck out of me. I have flashback of watching a man end his own dogs career. Love the videos though.
