Loved it.
Great triple on those Huns! Hot start to the season everywhere.
Best intro ever!!! Great video
Intro game is on point. Sweet video. Getting me motivated for Idaho sharptail opener
Love watching your hunts. Your dogs are the best, thankyou and keep them coming.
Thanks Mike, will do!
Awesome video! I was able to learn a lot from it! Keep it up
Some serious upgrades to the footage and editing this year to an already excellent production. Very entertaining! Your efforts are not unnoticed.
Thanks, glad you liked them!
Nice to see you and the dogs back on point.😀😀
😁👍
My Brittany passed in 1992, we had been hunting together for 18 years. We had covey's all over Eastern Virginia and the Piedmont area. Always had a good day with him whether we got into the birds or not. The last few years we went I was surprised by the housing projects popping up or the cleared land for cotton.
Unreal. Good job
Great to see you back in Montana this year. I have been waiting. Great video, dog work, and shooting. 3 for 3 on that one covey! Nicely done.
Thanks John! 👊
Great video, Eric!! The drone footage at the beginning is spectacular. Looking forward to Part 2.
Thanks Brady!

Good luck out there!
Great stuff Eric!

Este es mi canal favorito de videos de caza hermano, saludos desde guanajuato México, no dejes de hacer este contenido
Great video
Man I can’t wait to go to Montana that’s my bucket list hint for pheasant and Huns and grouse. Bit this year I will be heading back to north central Kansas.
Awesome!
First off I like how you talk to your dogs Like they are your children. that means they are family. I hope you sell them as we see them. IN the field.
Man!!! That intro with the drone is awesome! The clarity and definition of the video is better than last season. You have leveled up. Well done. Hope you all have a great season. Also, I usually watch your episodes in the evening when things are winding down. My wife sits on the opposite couch in our family room saying to herself “that a boy Tubby, good job Tubby!” Lmao
😆 thanks!
L oh fucking L 😂 my wife does the same thing! Love Tubby!
Been waiting for a new video
Greetings from Turkey, I watched a nice hunt, thank you
Thanks!
Awesome hunt and shooting as always Eric! Don't know if I've ever seen 3 birds shot at once. Wow! Great start to the season and look forward to the rest!
Thank you!
Been waiting for this! Would love to see you do a walk through of your hunting rig sometime!

Been waiting too long man...just keep on going❤❤👍🏼
Will do!
YES - best upland channel on UA-cam is back!!!!
😁👊
Izrael and I loved it, all I can say is WOW, we are born and bred in Montana and I’ve never seen that many sharpies in one place ever I guess we just have to get out there they were all over when I was a kid but now that I’m taking my boy hunting I can’t find them, anyway I digress very good work to cc teaching them pups we love cc and moxie and tubs but especially cc lol
Thanks Roger! Cici is a good teacher! 👍
You know Eric, if you hunted with a double, it'd be easier to find your empties! Great dog work in that oven! Nice shooting!
Just amazing video mate. It's just amazing to see how your dogs work!
Here in coast of Croatia, I hunt phaesants, quails and woodcocks. Altough huns are native to Croatia, we don't have them here in my hunting grounds for hunt.
But it's just amazing to see how Montana is just grassy and has few bushes, while here we hunt in such a thick stuff (oak, hornbeam, ruscus, blackthorn, pines and blackberries) that there are a lot of places that even dogs literally cannot go, and on other places we just have to crawl an all four to get on point. Plus mild winters without snow and hot summers made the birds to go away and just evade our hunting ground so last winter I got only couple of quails, 1 woodcock and few phaesants. But now the temperature is slowly falling, rain has come and I really hope that winter will be cold so the birds will come to us this November.
So greetings from Croatia and as we say "dobra kob" (meaning good hunting/good luck on Croatian), keep up with good work and I can't wait for the next video!!!
Wow that’s very interesting, thank you! Good luck to you as well!
Awesome Video! Id love to see a gear review video.
Montana was so hot first week of Sept!!!
Great quality video! I love the drone footage too. Is that a DJI?
Yes it is.
Nice channel intro this year!
Thanks!
Great video as always! I'm headed out for my first time in MT in 27 days, not that I'm counting down. On a mix of Sharpies, Pheasants, and Huns, are you carrying 6 or 7.5 shot? I can't wait to follow along this season, maybe I'll get some videos up as well.
I would shoot 7.5 but it will limit your effective range.
Hot doesn't even start to tell the story..... I made it up to MT for the opener too, and my hunt ended early because my dog was sick. Drove 13 hrs to hunt one day, wish I had multiple dogs to do it like your doing it.
Nice to see you back Eric. Wishes for a great season from the other side of the world
Thank you, and to you too!
I like the chakor hunting
Just got back from chukar hunting in idaho. All I could hear was your intro song. Lol
I like Tubs
Been waiting to see you videos again! This is my second season with my GSP and can’t wait to get out! What kind of head cam are you using?
Good luck out there! GoPro 10
Meat run baby!
we just got back sunday from Minnesota ruffed & sharptail grouse hunting!! saw lots of birds!!! looked like you had a great trip too!!! you take your trailer or just camp out of the truck?? we are going to try to go back for pheasant season too!!!
I’ve got the truck set up as a camper 👍
This is incredible man! Making a trip to Ks this year?
Hopefully, but I’m a bit worried about the quail numbers.
@@ericforrester1 from where I’m at they aren’t looking bad at all! I’ve been farther west and kicked up a couple healthy coveys while dove hunting.
Holy shit a triple. Playing no games this year!
Very nice video and well done. Its hard to tell in the video how far you are shooting most of the time but some of it looks very close are you using a 12ga and 7 1/2 shot and Imp choke ? I know here in Iowa 7 1/2 shot has worked very well on Hungarian Partridge.
Yes I shoot 7.5’s
I love hunting prairie rockets.
Can’t wait to watch this, I shot a shotgun for the first time last week! I have two questions, do you use 12 gauge, and what shotgun do you use?
I have a 12 and 20 gauge. Benelli ethos and 828u are the guns I shoot most often.
Nice shooting, what's the brand of your hat? I am looking for one just like that. Greetings from France and good hunting season
Had rv ready my wife and i was going to montana and north dakota but wife fell broke rt leg in 2 places at home i wstch and live through you lol
Ah man, bummer! Videos are better than nothing I guess! 👍
muhteşem av olmuş tebrikler. devamını dilerim
Awesome vids. What gun are you shooting?
Benelli Ethos
Is there much cactus for the dogs to deal with? It did not look like cactus country. Great videos!
Not too bad. 👍
Been working my GSP on dove in the cut corn fields here in Arkansas. Quail are nearly extinct so that's all I have to work. Anyways most dove on the ground feeding will flush about 50-60 yards before you or the dog gets to them. I noticed some of the grouse are similar. My question is, do you think it's possible for a dog to learn to stay back just hunting dove alone or do you think I should use pen raised quail first? Razor locks up tight but close before he does. By the way, awesome dogs and great shooting as well!
Dove don’t really work for a pointing dog. Birds in launchers are your best bet other than wild birds. Be careful with pen raised quail, they often don’t fly well. Chukar are better if you can afford them. Or pigeons of course.
Time to get serious and contact Garmin, Ford, Beretta and whoever else that could sponsor you.
Здравствуйте! Как называются эти птицы? Которые поменьше куропатки, а те, что крупнее тетерев? Или я ошибаюсь?
Is this NE Montana?
Eric how do you take care of and store your birds on these trips?
I have a small fridge in the truck
How do u keep the dogs cool in the back while you are out hunting?
I have windoors that I open on my topper and I also have a fan if needed.
How do you cool down the birds you harvest, an ice chest or dry ice?
I have a small fridge in the truck.
Serious question by somebody who has never been out west. In the heat of the moment when birds flush how do you tell the difference between a sharptail and a young/hen pheasant?
It can be tricky and I think lots of pheasant get shot by mistake. The main difference is you will see the white on a sharptails belly. They also tend to make a squawking sound when the get up. Kind of like they are laughing. 👍
Eric, did you shoot over your 5 month puppies in this trip?
And, did you get the puppies to hunt with the older dogs? Or only on their own?
Yes they had points of their own and I shot several birds for them. I have a video coming of all puppy highlights from MT. Stay tuned!
What ammo are you shooting?
Just target loads 7.5
Do u considered South Dakota good for sharp tails or Mantona I love your videos I was planning to go west to hunt sharp tails and pheasants
The Dakotas are great for sharpies. 👍
@@ericforrester1 thanks bud
All i know is i wish i could shoot half as good as you do lol.
Hey Eric, beautiful video, thank you. I’m thinking about pheasant hunting with my Weimaraner. I am totally beginner from Europe.
Can you tell me for what do you use electronic dog collar? And what kind of gun do you use? Beauty dog ladies!!
I use a Garmin Alpha 100 and a Benelli Ethos and 828u.
Thank you. For what, why do you use electronic collar?
I use it for training and tracking
Waidmannsheil from Germany 🦆🦌🦃😀
What kind of boots are you using?
This trip I wore Salewas
What kind of gun are you shooting
Benelli Ethos
Hi Eric. Is this public or private land?
All publicly accessible land 👍
@@ericforrester1 thanks Eric. I wouldn’t expect you to give up your secret spots but it would be helpful if you could provide a general area for me to start exploring.
Making it look Easy…
👍Hi
What shotgun is that
Benelli Ethos
Do you have to snake condition the dogs?
No I never have.
I assume that is all public ground?
Public or publicly accessible yes.
@@ericforrester1 Thanks. Love the show. Headed to friends’ private ground in Nebraska this weekend.
and not the one shot triple but the 3 shot triple
Yeah I figured! 😁
@@ericforrester1 I'm leaving Friday for Saskatchewan. Can't come soon enough!
Cool, good luck up there!
Do you ever have problems with rattlesnakes?
They are around. Some areas are worse than others.
