His absence might be a leftover from early versions, because there are supposedly some remnants of objectives in game files that were cut from the game. Originally Jackson was probably supposed to survive. The objectives were: 1. Find anti-radiation equipment. 2. Contact commanding officer (That was Vasquez) and 3. Find shelter.
@@gaunterodimm1671 Prototype preservation (Activision banned the channel) did a video explaining the whole Alpha Build, and one of the alpha missions was that mission, explaining the objectives, radio chatter, etc
This mission is what left me shocked as a kid playing COD4 for the first time. I didn't even know what a nuke was but to see them die like that was just heart breaking... Modern Warfare was darker than I knew back then
Now I’ve got a theory on what happened to Vasquez (not to be taken seriously), so LT Vasquez flew outside the helicopter as it got hit from the nuke, as he was flying he flew through a window landing on a comfy bed which leads to him surviving, once he wakes up, he starts to roam the streets to find other marines like Jackson, after failing on finding others because everyone was dead he decides to live a peaceful life in the nuked town, but because there is still radiation in the air he turns into a ghoul from fallout and dies from starvation
First off radiation would kill him almost instantly considering how close the blast is. Secondly if he landed on a sofa then he is in a house.... Houses would be destroyed by the nuke so he would die
He was probably thrown out when the Seaknight hit the ground and was ripped apart. Either he was thrown out the side when the front was almost completely ripped off or the back as the Seaknight potentially skidded across the ground as it crashed.
Shock and awe & Aftermath was two saddest missions in whole og modern warfare series... 💔💔💔 Thanks AlphaCod for your lovely videos! Upload videos about characters and accidents happened to them than tiny details of missions 🔥🔥
Vasquez didn't get in the chopper when they saved the Cobra Pilot. A couple of years ago, I was wondering about where he disappeared after saving the pilot, and he sacrified himself, along with four more soldiers at that time. They stayed back to cover the team when they flew away. When they first got out of the chopper to save the advance team, they were six soldiers. After they get back to the chopper they were ten. And only five soldiers, along with the pilot and the SeaKnight leader retreated, until the nuclear disaster.
That makes no sense. Because when the nuke went off, he would've died right away. So he was still in the chopper. Because he said, "Everyone hang on!" How else did he know that his chopper was going down?
It was more than likely by mistake, I personally believe that it was the limping marine heading towards the mushroom cloud and that he was intended to be Vasquez but was mistakenly put into a generic model. One of the reasons I believe that is because in the remastered Vasquez had a different build resembling that same limping marine until things changed in missions after.
@@Whiskey696I remember in the remastered mission Charlie Don’t Surf, Vasquez had a whole different uniform model, but as the later missions came along, he had his OG uniform on.
The part that really sucks as well is as the Sea Knight is going down, when Jackson loses his grip on Volker and he's thrown out, even despite every single one of the Marines being in serious trouble at that point, there's still a Marine that yells out 'Volker!'
The Marine that was in the helicopter after the crash by the cockpit was him when I played the original I went to see who it was and I saw the sawed off shotgun he always carried on his back
I played the OG recently and I did not find him at all. I searched everywhere. I even looked in spots people said they found him in, and I didn't find him at all. So you probably didn't see him, you probably just saw a generic Marine who also just so happened to have a shotgun on them. Either that or he's only in specific versions of the game (I have the 360 version). Or his body appearing is just complete RNG, and it has a very tiny chance of appearing.
Believe it or not but Vasquez is never seen entering the seaknight. In 1:02 it just shows an empty cabin with volker and that only a few marines walked in but none with the model of Vasquez. But in the script he had been presumably in the sea knight. My theory is that the marine limping towards the mushroom cloud was intended to be Vasquez but was mistakenly put in as a a regular marine model.
From other comments, it seems to be that the original plan was for Vasquez and half the squad to stay on the ground and cover the helis exit. After the nuke goes off, you survive and rondevue with V. But that got cut.
@@jeffhurtson5211 I mean well some of the squad members could have been killed by the swarm aswell, Vasquez was speaking as if he was on the sea knight. It seems like that idea was bumped over to mw3 with sandman and the rest of the delta team
Wow, it’s so obvious not like Lt. Vasquez flew out the helicopter and the chinook crashed so far away from him, it’s like it’s on the tip of my fingertips, the reason why we couldn’t find him…
What many people dont know is that the nuclear explosion like that is survivable trough proper medication. There is the whole explanation on some reddit post and the guy that wrote that said that jackson actually died from blood loss given the fact that you can hear his heart beating slower and blurry vision. Now i think even if the nuclear explosion is survivable i think everyone died because probably no one wanted to go into the contaminated zone and look for survivors so they all just died. Or infinite ward just didnt care and made everyone die from the explosion since it isnt a huge mistake and you need to know some things so they probably tought you instantly die regardless of the strenght of the nuke
It seems like he was probably still in the helicopter as he told everyone to to hold on and probably did the same thing. He might've went out on the other side where you couldn't get and there were a couple of more marines than what we saw walking out the chopper. I think it would've been so wild if the new Modern Warfare series would have this happening again and Shepherd going into his villain arc and Vasquez actually having survived like Jackson, but he was able to live and get underground desperately trying treat his injuries. Then imagine he got out and looked around and checked the bodies, trying to calm himself down and eventually breaking anyway. Then he with few survivors get picked up and lay in the hospital and he hears about Griggs dying when they went for Zakhaev. Once again getting emotional and then Shepherd comes in and talks to him. Then Shepherd convinces Vasquez to join him in his personal fight against those who are behind all this and Vasquez fueled with rage joins him and after recovery gets into some nasty fights in the shadows. Then when tensions rise up between Price and his crew and Shepherd, one day Vasquez encounters Price and talk about all that happened and Vasquez telling Price that he understands where he's coming from, but this is bigger than him, Shepherd or himself, it's about doing what their leaders simply fail to do over and over again. Then whatever drama happens next is up to imagination. I would've found this so wild and it would have me sitting straight the whole time.

Id like to think he survived, sure in my head the pilot and the 3 other marines survived aswell as jackson, but in my head he 100% survived, just woke up earlier then the others and thought them dead so he tried to get out of there.
