The fact that Warsaw was essentially reduced to rubble in 1944 gave the city a kind of blank slate to work with and you can really see that in the downtown esspecially, where there are very little if any pre-war buildings and so it's a really interesting mix of old communist-age blocks, modern skyscrapers, new, trendy malls, coffee shops etc. but as you start moving away from the modern downtown, you can see these blocks and communist architecture pretty much everywhere which some people dont really like, saying it just looks old and worn out and that they all look the same, but for me it gives a sense of nostalgia and familiarity since i grew up in the same blocks. As a Polish person, I feel humbled from this video, but I see a missed opportunity when you haven't mentioned about the Warsaw Radio Mast. Habsburgs married, married and married and then they married almost the whole western Europe, Swedish were the biggest thieves out of these 6 and Ottomans... You recorded only second subway line, which is pretty new, some parts (like Szwedzka) were lauched in previous two years. They are also no that commonly used, main subway line is the one that goes north-south and it does not look that good (although it is still pretty clean) and it actually is crowded in busisness hours

3:23 these building are not "grey and ugly"! This is an example of modernism housing architecture, they are not soviet at all. During war Warsaw was turned into a pile of debris. After war architects decided to build new center of Warsaw in architectural style of modernism (which was also pretty popular before the war). And this is it. These building are simple yet elegant.

I never lived in Warsaw lol but I think that’s a nice place! Good luck 🤞
I love this city
What a nice video and commentary 👍👍👋😊
Thanks, Arek!
Amazing city
i lived in warsaw all my life, and i gotta say, i never looked at warsaw as that amazing!
Such a curiosity, Biden lived in the mariot hotel for a few days as he was in Poland :) Very nice clips, great
job!
Hm, I didn't know that :) Thanks a lot Funi!!
Oh yeah, Biden most popular president ever... . . . quite sure he doesn't even know where he was.
I think all US presidents have stayed there during their visits to Warsaw.
bro you sound normal at 1.25 speed lol, cool video btw
I'm glad you enjoyed capital of my country.
Warsaw is wonderful city l love it ❤❤
Thanks for this video:)
Thanks for this comment, Kacper ;)
As a Polish person, I feel humbled from this video, but I see a missed opportunity when you haven't mentioned about the Warsaw Radio Mast. It was the biggest building in the world from 1974 to 1991, when a maintanence check went wrong. The record wasn't beaten until Burj Khalifa was finished in 2004. It's an interesting fact about Warsaw which not many people know about it
Yeah, that is fact. When it operated you could hear Polish radio is Lisbon, Portugal.
This radio mast was not located in Warsaw, but in Konstantynów (Gąbin) which is 100 km away from Warsaw.
Warsaw Radio Mast, as you call it, was never located in Warsaw, but not many people in Poland, especially you, seem to know about it.
Amazing video
Thanks bro!
05:46 nice shot :D
Thanks bro ☺️
Amazing video!
Thank you, Mateusz
Got to admire Poland and its people because their country is literally pretty much in the worst spot in the world: Between Germany and Russia.
recent events just prove how real history is still and how cautious the polish need to be about the russians and germans.
And between Sweden, Ottomans and Austria
@@alfaromeogiuliaquadrifogli8804 Ottomans were the least bad out of these 6 in my opinion. German (or Prussian) are imperialists to the point you become naturally an imperialist by living in a post-Prussian city, Russian was always a big brother who can't endure more than 10 years without either trying to control us, either making us bark on each other, either torturing us. Habsburgs married, married and married and then they married almost the whole western Europe, Swedish were the biggest thieves out of these 6 and Ottomans... Ottomans kinda did nothing for most of the times except Vienna if we ignore Cremean Tatars burning Polish villages (which was a pain in an ass for both sides because then Kozaks burnt Istambul). But yeah, that's a really unlucky spot.
This is like European New York
it is much smaller but also much, much safer and filled with friendly people.
Has anyone ever read the book called "Pass-Could-Nick Warszawski"? Sorry, I don't know how to spell it. I heard it's an amazing book about modern Warsaw with great photos.
Paskudnik Warszawski
Valdemar nice video! But better place than Rondo ONZ is Rondo Daszynskiego, next station to rondo ONZ.
In this area are 4 of 6 tallest skyscrapers in Warsaw. You must see it :)
You are the 2nd person who is saying that) I will have to check out that place for sure 🤔
Next time!
Like nyc so nice
Actually, its like so tiny part of it.
Come to Kraków. You will see more history of Poland instead of skyscrapers.
I'm already here. For almost 6 years :)
Could be making a video about it soon
This is much better
Krakow is really a better, nicer destination.
@@kermitfrosch6559 lol no
@@aulus3792 Sorry, for me "yes"
Omg, look like New York omg :)
Kinda
Far from it.
@@alienbird2271 but better than par*s 🤮
Maybe not New York but like some main state cities for example Minneapolis or Atlanta
@@Dawid7034 nah.. it is Polish equivalent of NY
as a Pole i can confirm Warsaw is suprising even i could belive how it changed
I was born on Szwedzka very close to Stalowa.
Warsaw metro Looks like clean as Delhi Metro.
Beautifull Warszawa. Go to Kraków too. 😃
Agata, mieszkam w Krakowie ;)
@@Valdemaaar aaaaa 😁
Gdańsk is also worth of visiting, especially in the summer.
Great video 👍
Thanks Dawid!
I comment as a Polish guy who lives in Warsaw, and our subway can be pretty crowded in the rush hours (it's about 7-9 am, and 4-6 pm). Also its so clean and modern because it was just build very lately. Polish first metro line is much more dirtier and less pretty then the second line.
We were lucky then :)
You recorded only second subway line, which is pretty new, some parts (like Szwedzka) were lauched in previous two years. They are also no that commonly used, main subway line is the one that goes north-south and it does not look that good (although it is still pretty clean) and it actually is crowded in busisness hours
I was lucky though :)
I live in warsaw, and tbh i don't see so many things, that are special, for me it's just standard EU city
People who live there and people who are visiting the city see it differently and pay attention to different things ;)
Standardowe europejskie miasto? Tylko 3 europejskie stolice mają więcej drapaczy chmur... Większość państw europejskich nie ma nawet jednego drapacza chmur...
Gdańsk , Sopot , Gdynia
Nice video Valdemar !!!Where are you from Valdemar?
Thanks Mark! You can check out my FB, all links on the profile 🙂
@@Valdemaaar Thanks ,and happy, and safe traveling:)
I live in Poland but some informations I didnt know, like that Poland has the tallest building in Eu. I like this video, I subscribe.=D
Thank you!!
Warsaw is the most beautiful city in the world.
No
Some Germans (and not only) still think that people in Poland ride on horses instead of cars and that we have no roads 🤣🤣🤣
I'm surprised
and i'm from fricking Poland
4:37 get that Warsaw look
East side of the river is not rural XD, besides that you're pretty much on point mate
Thanks! One day I need to explore the east side
as a polish person im gonna give you true arguments to visit eastern europe (+ poland, czechia, slovakia):
alcochol is probably cheaper the anywhere else
I'm from poland and it's sadly only a story for a few huge cities in poland, i can probably count them on my fingers on my 1 hand
boi just think what warsaw would be if it wouldn't be stopped from developing by wars or being destroyed by germany in 1939 (that's why past all these years they had to rebuild it)
Very nice film, I' m originally from Krakow, wich is not that modern because it has not that mauch sky scrapers it wasn' t destroyed during the ww2 so to not cover the old town there are just 2 sky scrapers in Krakow which are not that tall, and I think this is what makes the atmosphere of krakow. I recommend you to see this uniqe thown as it has a lot to offer.
Kraków will be next :)
WHAAAAAT I swear to God this is not how I remember it. This is literally my country. It sure is evolving! In my town nothing changes but that's obviously because it's Sosnowiec.
W sosnowcu sanie zajebali?
@@Hasio-Maszkietnik tak
I am not fun off glass skyscrapers, there is nothing modern in it,its just that are cheap and easy to build.Art deco buildings are much more classier but more expensive to build

Nope. Was there, didn't see you there
@@Valdemaaar lol in OCHOTA in Warsaw
this town in Polish language name is warszawa
Dziękuję, nigdy nie słyszałem :)
You can call it with any word, but they still are grey boxes copied across all USSR or Soviet-controlled countries and there is nothing good about it
@Władysławów If you paint them well, they look pretty decent, and you can have pretty decent life in them. And they solved the mass urbanisation problem pretty well.
