I also have the Python Mk II. It is a superb combat ship. I'll share my current weapon loadout. Up front, I use gimbaled weapons and Flight Assist. You may consider those crutches but whatever. I have four 3C fragment cannons engineered with double shot and screening shell. I also have two 2D beam lasers engineered with short range. In HRES sites, I can quickly strip the enemies' shields using the beam lasers and then proceed to quickly tear down their hull with the fragment cannons. It works very well for me.
I have mainly settled on 2 x large pulse w/rapid fire (experimentals your choice), 2 x large MCs with OC/AL and OC/corrosive, and 2 medium imperial hammers, both oversized, one with feedback cascade to cancel SCBs, and one super penetrator. It works great for me. I have two different firing groups, one with the pulses and MCs and the rails on the secondary, and one with the pulses on A and MCs on B to conserve ammo. I generally only use the rails when opponents are using SCBs or if they are running away, again to conserve ammo, extend the hazres session, and maximize earnings.
Good video I liked the variety I just tried 4 modified plasma chargers and 2 large gimballed multis (overcharged with autoloader and hi cap with corrosive) and it’s been a blast The shot speed on the chargers make it much easier to use and it hits hard
The pacifiers are great and you don’t have to worry about your distributor or pips but you run out of ammo pretty fast fighting the smaller ships. With the 4 chargers you have to go full pips into weps but it’s still manageable with a charge enhanced distributor Aside from that though they are fun to use
Ideally you'll want a mix. And dont overdo it either. Not 3 plasma accelerators, just the 1. Maybe the other half thermal half kinetic. I like burst lasers alot.

Nice .. Did the Plasmas not overload your capacitor ?? I had a bit of a nightmare .. Have you tried Pacifier frags to compare by any chance ?
