At 28:15, blames the wind, while wind sock just happens to be straight ahead off the nose and limp as can be. Classic! 😆
On my minimum TQ take off in the first aircraft, I may have initiated the maneuver from already above ETL airspeed. Especially if I had a headwind. So I'm going to call that maneuver a bad test. I'll need to try that again next time I fly the Asobo G2.
My autos were fast. The Operators Manual for the G2 states an auto speed of 50kts. I'll try them at 50kts in the future and see how that effects the rotor RPM and rate of descent.
thanks for another video! I am quite enjoying these, the autos are always enjoyable to watch! So, on a side note, I will look and see if theres anything i can do to ad just the rotor inertia, I know its not right, and is one of the many settings that has given much difficulty in getting right! Also, I spent a few hrs today trying to fix the pop-out EPM, I d/l the mod so I can test, so far though, and I double checked the asobo cabri files, model, and compared to my own, and I still can't figure out why it will not work! However, I will keep trying as I'm quite tenacious. Thanks again for everything :)

I wish I had the skills to do it myself, but I've learned through many home lab projects, I get the electronics all built up but when it comes time to write the software, the electronics get put up on a shelf and never touched again!! 😆

As far as the autos, it very well may be a mix of pilot error and the flight dynamics. I need to keep trying more of them to make sure I'm not causing the issue myself by diving with too much nose forward pitch. It seems like some of them them the rotor is in the green during the descent but sometimes not. That leads me to believe it's something I'm doing wrong as the pilot. My bigger issue is with the cushioning collective pull at the bottom. It just feels like I have a lot more collective pull available that what I would experience in the real world. In the real world you really really need to nail the timing of the collective pull cuz you get maybe 3 seconds of steady collective pull to cushion your touchdown. It seems like the sim is more like 6 seconds worth of collective pull before the rotor system is out of inertia. All that said, I know there are high inertia and low inertia helicopter rotor systems. Maybe the G2 is actually considered a high inertia rotor system in the real world. Like I keep saying, take my thoughts with a grain of salt cuz I havent flown a real helo in 3 years.

Also, My inspiration and original love and pretty much everything I know about the G2, came from Pilot Yellow YT Channel, I highly recomend checking out his videos! I'll take a look at this maneuver guide so I know if I'm doing these maneuvers in accordance with the Cabri Operators Manual. That'll help take the pilot error out of the equation.
