These 2 words wasn't in the original. It just said "to serve you". 4: The original message is using the English word for "Staff" instead of a translated version like "Habbo Teamet" or "Habbo Holdet" which both translate to "The Habbo Team". 5: If it feels like the translation just cuts off abruptly, I can promise you it feels the exact same way in the original message. This is a very lacklustre message.

I remember being part of an agency on Habbo. I worked my way up to the top and it wasn't worth it. There was doxxing, sooo much drama, and the stress wasn't worth it. I got put on a 2 day leave from the agency bc of some drama, and I remember SOBBING in my dorm room. That's when I realized that I had a problem. After the semester ended, and I had some kinda crappy grades, I quit the agency and I haven't returned to Habbo since.
I had the same experience T T My grades didn't tank because my boyfriend at the time made me quit and did something on my pc so I couldn't access it. But girl, we had an issue.
You went out better than me. I paid 4000 coins to become an agency co-founder back in 2009. I made over 15k in coins. I don’t know if works now but what we did was sell ranks and take users passwords. We’d send them a link via email once tthey’d worked their way up to a senior rank HR, Managment Etc. once they opened the link to a forum and we tell them to sign up using their Habbo details, we’d say it’s a way for high ranking staff to communicate. We’d log into their accounts, If they were broke or bought a rank in the agency we’d never touch their account but if they had coins or we’d paid them over 500 coins in wages, we’d log into their account and trade everything to a “Alternative” account and change their account password. However you know what they say there is no loyalty among thieves. I was sent a link by the person I was running the scam with, he told me he’s switching forums so I created a new account for this forum using my same Habbo password🤦♂️I lost my entire account completely on top of that the password for the alternative account was changed too. In total I lost around 20k in a Habbo coins including the 4K I paid, 10k on my account plus the money in alternative account. I was depressed for about a month and it took me nearly 8 years to build up the strength to create a new account.
I thought Habbo died years ago. If they're still alive, I'm honestly amazed they aren't trying to do something like introduce NFT's. That kinda shady crap seems right up their alley. Edit: WELP
I definitely should not have been on Habbo as young as I was. I never spent any money because my parents would let them nowhere near their bank card, but I used to play every night with my friend and I absolutely loved it. Our favourite hobby was to go to the McDonald’s/Diner themed room, go into the toilets and pretend to have diarrhoea…. it was fun I swear
Habbo's fan servers are home to my best internet memories (not without their own oddities). Wasn't surprised in the slightest to learn that original caused many controversies (also that Habbo is into NFT)
Until a few months ago i forgot about habbo until a saw a screenshot of a super whimsical room on Tumblr and then all the memories hit me like a truck.

@Kas S one of of the biggest ways we used to find creeps online was when they asked our age, we refused to say until they did. If they also refused red flag. The other was we would lie about our age like, for example "oh I'm 15. No mean 27. Just kidding! I'm actually like 20. Kidding again!!" My dad works in advertising and one of his favorite stories to tell is how he was pitched Habbo Hotel. He says it was the worst pitch he ever had to sit through. They were hyping it up since the person who made it was some sort of young entrepreneur with great ideas. Apparently after the pitch ended everyone was in awe of how terrible of an idea it was and thought that it would never work. It turns out they were right.
OH noooo hahha that’s so interesting. habbo had some cool ideas and as a kid i was so amazed by everything you could do. but as a whole, it was predestined to fail. it’s funny how quickly they saw through it.
None of what you just said regarding how Habbo was founded or how it was pitched to advertising agencies is even remotely accurate - It was founded by two guys who worked in the marketing/tech industry in Finland who made the precusor to Habbo to promote their friends band called Mobiles. Neither of them were really entrepreneurs at the time, they were just two dudes doing stuff for fun and small paychecks. Habbo came to be in Finland in the year 2000 and broke into the English market in 2001 before exploding in popularity in 2003. It was an immensely successful business until things started to fall-apart in the early 2010's when more competition arose, parents became more aware of what their kids were up to online, the market just generally shifted away from games of this type, and more importantly? The online landscape and world in general that Habbo was created in just ceased to exist. It naturally fell out of popularity with the changing market. It was astounding how revolutionary it actually was for its time - To say it was a "terrible idea" from the get go is immensely wrong.
Why am I not surprised a Dutch teen got arrested... That game was HUGE here! It was like, the only online game at the time you could hop onto and immediately speak Dutch with a stranger in. That doesn't really happen anymore these days
I met my first love on the Habbo knockoff Habboon when I was 13. We were best friends for about 6 years before we fell out but he taught me a lot and I'm greatful to these kind of platforms for the friendships I kept for years :)
habbo was such a huge part of my childhood. i remember i had to stop playing on the US server because of how incredibly terrible the players there were and moved over to the canadian server where i had a much better time. the CA server didn't have as much fun roleplay rooms tho so i missed out there but at least i wasn't being harassed and exposed to disgusting behaviour 24/7
Another way to say "child enthusiast" is PDF file or PDFfile because it sounds close enough to the real word to make sure people understand what type of person your talking about without risking demonetization.
I played Habbo from the mid-2000s until 2020 (I lost interest). I joined many Habbo "militaries" because I just wanted something to do on the game aside from the dating nonsense that was happening in public rooms. I got to know a lot of people, some of whom I still speak to 'til this very day. Boy oh boy, if only more people knew about the shit that happened in militaries. There was a high concentration of weird shit that I was personally privy to that happened between 2014 and 2020-from IP logging, to revenge 🌽 . Doxing was almost a DAILY occurrence. An anecdote: there was a leader of a certain military (no names involved) who constantly rallied against "child enthusiasts", but in secret would pretty much try and date every female military officer he could get his crummy little hands on, and then emotionally abuse them. Even with this happening behind the scenes, he was still largely popular within the military community. Things fell apart in the end and here's the thing, no one really knows if he's still on Habbo trying to do the same thing on a new profile.
THE MILITARIES. I was part of the biggest miltary in my country's hotel. Such a toxic place. Glad I left but hated I didn't leave earlier. I now see how fucking messed up that place was.
Habbo was a HUGE part of my childhood, I started around 2009 with my own account but my friend let me play on his from 2007. I remember so much chaos, and I still have my account just to pop in every 2 years or so and see what’s changed (it’s cool you get crowns after a few years have passed) - I used to roleplay in `H`ogwarts / `I`hoggy! That was such a wild time, I loved the Harry Potter roleplays and used to make so many friends. Last I checked, that community STILL exists, 10-13 years later! Sometimes I still play on a retro hotel called Habboon, since I have a lot of history on there. I remember days of Frozen and some other hotels that got taken down, but Habboon somehow always stayed strong and kept running for so many years, still existing. I THINK at some point Habbo gave up trying to take down retro hotels, honestly.

That part! I was too young to even know what was going on. My parents were not internet savvy and did not know to prepare me against that when I was young.
I remember some stuff about Habbo. I remember my friends and I got actual cards from Riteaid to get habbo currency cards, and people stealing some of my currency in game, with scam rooms. I remember the Habbo Harry Potter Room, the McDonald's room and some of the more questionable ones too. (Which I tried to avoid) However, my favorites were the obstacle course rooms. Those were so fun! I was way too young when I started on Habbo, and when I was done, I was in highschool. Man, looking back on it, it was a very strange game.

I loved Habbo as a kid, but I was also being groomed by a creepy old guy I met on that site when I was 11. I thought he was my friend until he started sending me inappropriate photos. When I brought up the issue with my aunt, she freaked out and explained child predators to me (because my parents were very closed off and never really explained things or engaged with me). Its wild when I think about it now. Im so glad I never tried to meet the creep in person.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. These’s no excuse for sending unsolicited pics to anyone, but especially to kids. I’m glad your aunt was there for you and you didn’t meet that guy 😵💫 It’s scary how almost everyone has a story of an online creep asking them to meet up. Hope you’re ok!
Great video!!! Started playing habbo quite late (in 2011) but even so it was a big part of my childhood (can't really say if this is a good or bad thing) and I have a lot of found memories of the friends I made there. Unfortunatly, after the great mute all my friends and many players stopped playing and then the hotel felt really empty, so I leave the game too. Its funny to remember that after almost 3 years I spent in this game I had just modest rooms and didn't spent too much money on it, but in the end, I think the real gold bars were the friends we made along the way :)
I got into Habbo during the pandemic (2020, I’m 21 now). Most players now are mid to late twenties with the occasional 16/17 year old. Most of them are good people, we’re just looking for community. But it started taking over my life. Every spare moment I spent on Habbo with people from all over the world who were also spending 12+ hours online. It’s not healthy and the relationship I made online are going to suffer now that I’ve quit but at least my offline relationships will thrive now.
i moved over to habbo retros in 2013 and have met some of my most special friends i still have on them. sulake was a bully and would shut these down very quickly, so it was easy to lose friends - since nobody has any issue buying things. everybody had their own unique looks from things called chubbies, trolls and roleplayers. it was such a beautiful time for me as a someone who couldn’t make friends the same way online. everyones grown up now and grown out of it - but i always go into my old rooms now and then and reminisce
Thank you for making this. Im 26 now and ive played habbo wayy back in the days when it first came out in its simplicity and i was a teen . Habbo was so fun back when it wasnt so strict. The final straw for me and my friends was when they removed casinos and gambling. listen i know its not good to gamble but hey it is what it is. Also ive revisited habbo and saw that they did a tax system and i never logged back in a day in my life. Habbo fell off sooo hard
i'm so glad The Algorithm chose to offer this up. i never played habbo, but the aesthetics are so appealing, and you're a wonderful writer and presenter. look forward to seein more cursed content :))
Just started watching so idk if this might get mentioned later but I remember staying in Habbo chatrooms for hours with my friends for many years, but since you really couldn't have any cool furntiure without actual money, there were a lot, and i mean A LOT of Habbo knockoffs that had a different money system, which didn't require real money. Although I sadly do not remember anymore how you got money. But those knockoffs were practically 1:1 copies, even the name was always something like "Hubba", "Fobba" and what not. And seeing screenshots from the game in this video makes me incredibly nostalgic.
I didn't see anyone else mention it, so I'll say it, the Pool Aids joke is racist, so that poor woman didn't misunderstand. Making their avatars Black while saying "the pool was closed due to Aids" is purposeful. Aids was most commonly associated with Black people (and gay people) and was used to discriminate against and stereotype both groups. (I say "was" but probably is still used like that...) I hope she's finally gotten some peace away from those loser scumbags.
It's a good thing hotels in real life are much better and safer than- ...nevermind. Turns out you’ll have a consistent experience on, or offline. How…comforting

I remember giving my mobile number for free credits bc I wanted a pet cat so bad back then xD Most of my time on the game was spent either talking to the various NPCs because they'd often talk back (main hangout of mine was the Dirty Duck Pub) or just sitting in a corner and watching other players have, like, the wildest conversations - also can't forget the absurd amount of college rooms people made lol
How do you make a great day better? Have Plushie upload a fantastic video! It's also weird to think that I remember seeing Habbo's logo around on the web at the time. I can't remember if it was ads or what, but still, to think that this thing I knew nothing about harbored such a controversial history
I knew Habbo Hotel from my cousin but i never played it since then (about 2008-ish?). But i have seen Trolligarchs 2 Videos and was exited about a 1 Hour Video. So far (28 Minutes in), i'm impressed. Your style is unique and very good, your German ist sehr gut (very good) [wasnt expecting you suddenly speaking German]. So you have a new subscriber, and (sadly) i have only 39 Minutes of Video to watch, although your other Videos look interesting too.
I was extremely into habbo, owned a popular casino and was well known, but I will never forget how useless the staff were. Under-water furni had just released and they had a competition where the most popular rooms at X time would win a badge(?) and something else. So I made a room, got a lot of people in it with a great themed room. Suddenly all these fake giveaway rooms popped up just before the time with no furni or lines for people to line up. Spamming that they are having a giveaway inside the room. A few minutes before the time was up they just changed their room name... All of these people won the competition, no-one who actually tried did. I complained and they did nothing. After that day, I gave up playing and sold items as people wanted them until I was completely out. Screw you Habbo.
Ahh Habbo. I remember my sister somehow being able to get a free 1 credit item and then trade it all the way up to a royal teleport, for which the player who owned the other side was willing to trade half a room of furni. I also remember stupidly putting my real login on a scam website and losing all of my own furni. I guess it was the best of times, it was the worst of times xD The musical chairs games were fun though.

Bro….. you made it THAT long?! I couldn’t make it past 2-3 days lol. ‘We pay weekly’ yea 2-3 coins maybe hahahahaha
@@user-du6vx7ir7m yeah it's so crazy! It wasnt even fun after a certain point
P3dos, gambling, black markets, blackmail? Just like a real hotel!
I thought Habbo died years ago. If they're still alive, I'm honestly amazed they aren't trying to do something like introduce NFT's. That kinda shady crap seems right up their alley.
Edit: WELP
Hahaha, you jinxed it
“Crimes” somehow feels like the absolute perfect word to describe what these sites were like
I definitely should not have been on Habbo as young as I was.
Fan servers like Habboon are a joy! I still play them once in a while to see what new things have popped up!

I wasn't expecting the "reenact the jonestown tragedy" and laughed way too loud. Internet was a wild place.
Ngl, a group of people forming a swastika outside your workplace in protest sounds legitimately terrifying. I hope those people were dealt with.
that was definitely too far. like if they’d just go there and stood in front of the building without actually blocking people, it would’ve been ok/kinda funny even. a ton of countries in europe have super strict laws against drawing/making that symbol, and even if it’s just a joke, people regularly get in trouble for it.
It was a joke. The people that did it knew people who weren't in on it would take it seriously. It was funny. There were even breakaway groups within the raiders. Lol
@@2yoyoyo1Unplugged no shit captain obvious but it doesn’t make what they did any less awful, idk why you think genocide is funny
@@cute60666 The Nazis did genocide. No genocide was done at the Habbo hotel pools, and it was obvious to anyone with a brain that it was not done to actually endorse Nazis (at the time. Nowadays i’ll admit it’s a lot harder to tell and as such I stay off 4chan.)
@@2yoyoyo1Unplugged lmao the swastika is not some quirky sign, ppl who use it even ironically are still making a literal hate symbol of a mass genocide that killed millions, there’s literally no part of it that is funny. You have yet to explain the joke. Tell me what is funny about a swastika. It’s also very easy to say “it wasn’t to endorse nazis” after the fact but you have no idea what the ideologies of the people who did it. Clearly it was people like you who found it funny, which is the wrong crowd to be enabling. There’s a reason why a swastika was chosen and not another symbol.
I was a tween on Habbo and my God… I should not have been on there! The nostalgia is real, though.
Facts! Same! Omg.
my dad used to work for this game lol, one of his memories of the game was people raiding some pool and saying ”pools closed everyones got aids”
CLASSIC
This unlocked so many memories. Mostly the part about "child enthusiasts" I remember my sister and I were aware the issue and we found a way to sniff out the creeps then we would troll them till they blocked us
Hell yeah! The classic hobby
What was the way to sniff out the creeps? Does the technique works in other online worlds, old and new?
@@Kas_Styles Imo, people who ask too many personal questions and don't take 'no' as an answer
I remember telling someone in a different online game that I was a minor and that it was inappropriate of him to say my character is cute, and there are an abundance of 18 year olds playing the game he can talk to, and he just continued to flirt and make subtle remarks that are probably intended to work down my guard.
@Lillysparrow ya thats a good way to find out who's a creep
@Kas S one of of the biggest ways we used to find creeps online was when they asked our age, we refused to say until they did. If they also refused red flag. The other was we would lie about our age like, for example "oh I'm 15. No mean 27. Just kidding! I'm actually like 20. Kidding again!!" I remember one person who every time we changed our age, he changed his to match and we continued on till he blocked us and it became a game to us lol

My dad works in advertising and one of his favorite stories to tell is how he was pitched Habbo Hotel.
It did work tho for years they are recently struggling. They dominated the game space during 2000s.
Habbo was super popular for well over a decade
If you owned even 1% investment in habbo youd be fucking laughing mate

Gang war shootouts 😂😂😂
I remember the Habbo Harry Potter room!

BABE WAKE UP!! THE QUEEN IS BACK!!
This game was so much fun but i had my stuff stolen so many times. At times out of nowhere, nothing that could be clearly pointed to me
I got into Habbo during the pandemic (2020, I’m 21 now).

I love how in depth your videos are! I always watch and listen while doing my New Horizons dailies.
"NFTs are a scam. Just kidding!"
No, you were right the first time.
(I say "was" but probably is still used like that...) I hope she's finally gotten some peace away from those loser scumbags.
i checked on her socials because i felt extremely bad for her too! it seems like people left her alone and she’s doing fine now.

Very interesting, I didn’t know much about Habbo before this, it was very well done I look forward to seeing your next video
When the world needed her most.. She vanished.
Ahh Habbo. I remember my sister somehow being able to get a free 1 credit item and then trade it all the way up to a royal teleport, for which the player who owned the other side was willing to trade half a room of furni.
I also remember stupidly putting my real login on a scam website and losing all of my own furni. I guess it was the best of times, it was the worst of times xD
The musical chairs games were fun though.
Yoooo you used a clip from Dakota!
